We had the BEST little wine weekend at this charming farmhouse. This was our second stay and somehow it was even better than the first. The house is so cozy, beautifully appointed, super comfortable and perfect for a relaxing girls getaway for two. Our favorite parts were the hot tub, watching the cows in the pasture, and the total peaceful quiet of the countryside. It was exactly the reset we needed.Michelle is such a wonderful host — warm, responsive, and incredibly accommodating. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests having a great experience.We can’t wait to come back again. This place is a gem — highly recommend.

Perfect Girl's Weekend!

What a lovely home, perfect for two best friends to meet and catch up! From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. The host left us a basket of goodies with a delicious bottle of wine. Cute message board awaited us with our names on it. The large chalkboard in the kitchen with all the info we would need was great. Everything was so nice and clean, kitchen has all you need, especially the Keurig duo coffee maker! The bedrooms are spacious, a well stocked bathroom, washer/dryer with supplies, chargers everywhere, and great bluetooth speakers available to use. The outside was so cute with a variety of trees, darling out building, seating everywhere and a nice hot tub. The host lives on the property, but off in the distance. Close enough to be reached if needed, but far enough away for your privacy. Available quickly by text with any questions you may have.Wonderful stay, definitely recommended!

Charming, Immaculate Home

This was my second stay at this lovely, well-kept home. The owners are extremely accommodating and go that extra step to ensure everything is perfect! The house is extremely clean and has everything one needs to enjoy a relaxing getaway. The kitchen is stocked with essentials if cooking is on the agenda. The bedrooms are accommodating, and the beds are comfortable. There’s a fire pit and a hot tub. I will definitely stay here again!!

Just what we needed

Cozy and comfortable!!! Excellent communication with the owners. It was the perfect location, although be aware that it is a long gravel driveway and a true farm house so those low lying cars and/or allergies will need to take extra care. However, it was worth the extra Claritin to me as having coffee on the porch was so peaceful!

A real gem!

We absolutely loved our girls trip stay at this property. The ambiance of being out in the country surrounded by beautiful animals and surroundings was incredibly peaceful. Shelton Vineyards is right up the road and we also did a day on the Elkin Vine Line. They will pickup and drop off from this location for a small fee. We had a lovely time with all the comforts of home. Will definitely be returning!

Coffee with the Cows

We stayed a few short nights as we were juggling different efforts. The Cottage was the perfect location. Upon a late arrival we were beyond pleased with the condition and hospitality of the hoist. Beds and bedding is comfy, kitchen is well appointed. Living room is relaxing and parking is convenient. Spent a few mins each morning enjoying coffee on the front porch with the cows across the way and the beautiful scenery of the distant mountains.

My husband, his mom and i stayed at Shady Oaks for the weekend and we really enjoyed the place.Very well decorated and clean. Old farmhouse feeling with all the modern necessitieswe will come back.Michelle, the host was great. She answered all of our questions and welcomed us very nicely

It was absolutely wonderful! Everything you could think of was at your fingertips. The only reason for my one 4 was that it was away from everything. This can absolutely be a major plus, but we needed to get out for food which we did not bring for our stay so we needed to know more about restaurants etc accessibilities. It was all wonderful!!!!!

Time to relax

Farm home located approx 1/4 mile off a county road. 1 st impression is quiet, peaceful, clean. The property did not disappoint in any way. The home was clean well stocked. The home is surrounded by 30 acres of pastor with well cared for cattle. We stayed for a week and enjoyed the quiet nights by the camp fire and stars. We cooked at home most nights in the well stocked kitchen and grill outside. Enjoyed all the reading materials and info provided by owners. Several Vineyards in area that we partook of during are visit. We ate at local diners and visited several old General stores. Enjoyed are visit to Mt. Pilot and Stone Mountain. Spent two days driving the Blue ridge parkway. Had the pleasure of meeting the owners and learned about the history of Elkin NC. I would recommend this Farm House to anyone looking for peace and quiet. Robert &Tracy Lebanon IN

Shady Oaks Farmhouse

The house was on a beautiful farm property. It was a quiet and relaxing surroundings. I enjoyed the cows that came up across from tje house to eat the fresh grass in the afternoon and the sweet goats. The house was very well organized and clean. The gift basket left by tje host was an extra special bonus. We enjoyed out stay and felt right at home. The host was cordial and responded in a timely manner to any questions. The farm is on about 20 minutes from Elkin.

Home away from home

The pictures do not do it justice. The house feels like a home. The owner has done a fantastic job, inside and out of making it comfortable and beatiful. She was easy to commuicate with and went above and beyond every time!! My kids loved the yard and the hot tub!!

Home away from home!

We were welcome with a basket and card from the owners and the entire atmosphere of the house immediately felt like home. This house had everything we could have needed including extra travel items in the event anything not packed. (If you are like me you always forget something). We were down for an engagement party over the weekend and with how busy we were with arrangements and family it was exhausting. We had plenty of room to relax inside and outside. My son 1.5yr was able to freely move throughout the house and outside worry free. And the shower was heaven! We somehow locked ourselves out during our stay and the owners were prompt in assisting us with access within 10mins. If you are looking for a place to relax, this is the place. We will 100% use thos property for our next trip to visit family!

Absolutely Wonderful!

Had a fabulous stay over Memorial Day weekend. House was immaculate and we were welcomed with a personalized greeting and snacks/wine. Thank you! Because of weather, we didn't get to be outside much, but our group enjoyed the hot tub and the house had everything we needed. Only a mile or two away from Shelton vineyards and other area wineries. Michelle was a wonderful host, provided all the check in information prior to our arrival and had a variety of area attractions and contact numbers in case we needed anything. Would definitely recommend staying at the farmhouse and was one of the best places we have ever stayed!

Relax! Enjoy the quiet.

We stayed 2 nights to attend a local music festival. It was hard to leave the quiet, and nearby cows and goats to join the crowd (including our kids, so we went). We stopped at the Elkin Farmer's Market and found smoked trout that was excellent. My husband enjoyed an early morning dip in the hot tub, then reading outside. The welcome basket was a great surprise and appreciated. The hospitality and amenities were perfect. Shady Oaks Farmhouse is highly recommended for city dwellers like us or anyone! Serious R & R.
