About Ben LaRocco
We are Ohio natives and former Capitol Hill staffers living and raising a family in Washington, DC.
Ben LaRocco purchased this House in 2015
Why Ben LaRocco chose Colonial Beach
Colonial Beach is where we come to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Only and hour and a half drive, but a world away, Colonial Beach reminds us of our childhood playing on the beaches in quaint towns on the Lake Erie shore. We want to open up our home to you so that you too can enjoy the fun and family memories that we create every time we visit.
What makes this House unique
The porch is what made us fall in love with this property, but the flexibility, size, and location make it a sparkling gem on Colonial Beach. With historic charm in the original house, this is one of the largest properties available for rent in Colonial Beach, with plenty of space for the whole extended family. With a perfect location, this property is just close enough to everything to be convenient, but just far enough away to have privacy, peace and quiet.
Nice beach home for multiple families.
I rented this home for our family and 3 small grandchildren. The kitchen was well equipped, and the home was kid friendly. We really enjoyed the mornings on the screened porch. The home was clean, comfortable and the owner was so pleasant to work with. We would rent here again.
Great Vacation Home!
This a great place, super clean and well stocked with everything we needed! The owners gave us lots of helpful information and logistical details were clearly communicated and very straight forward. The house was plenty big enough for our 2 families with nice bright and spacious rooms. Location is great, on a nice quiet street with a very short (just past the neighbors yard) walk to beach. The street to cross to the beach was very quiet and the cars and golf carts drove super slowly along there, so we had no concerns about the kids crossing the road. The beach is nice too, it is sandy right by the house and the water was warm at the end of August! My only regret is that we couldn’t have stayed longer! We would certainly highly recommend this property, and hope to return again soon!
We will be returning!
We had a great time during our stay at 21 Madison. The layout of the house worked great for our multi - families with kids vacation! Two kitchens, two refrigerators and two clothes washer/dryer! And, the dining room table was large enough for the whole group. Thanks again, we will be planning next years vacation soon.
Great house for whole family. Cleaning crew was fantastic!
Owner tries very hard to accommodate your needs and wishes. Beds made, clean towels, many extras. So nice to walk into a clean house and just start your vacation! Only issue....no control over wet weather!
Great for families!
The house itself was great for our family group, which included 4 couples, a teenager; a toddler, and 2 infants. The large living area was a perfect gathering place, with enough room for everyone at the table. The kids enjoyed the toys, books, and games provided. We had everything we needed in the kitchen and bedrooms. 2 sets of washer/dryer was also very nice. We used the grill and the beach supplies provided. The front screened-in porch provided a quiet place to be outside and read or watch passers-by. Only complaint is the beach itself: not ideal if you’re used to a big, clean ocean. Overall, a lovely place to visit and get away from it all!
Peaceful, uncrowded beach
We had a great time with family. The house was wonderful.
Colonial Beach is a quiet, scenic, and historic town on the Potomac River in the Northern Neck area of Virginia and Chesapeake Bay. It is a leisurely golf cart community, with the kind of charm where time slows down, perfect for connecting with family or relaxing with a good book. There are several restaurants to serve many palates and preferences, and the second largest public beach in Virginia.
