Our fairly basic and compact studio has a queen size bed, clothes rail, a few 'cube' style drawers, a sofa, coffee table and an en-suite shower room. There is a tall table and stools where you can eat inside and a bench table outside. Freeview TV, CD & DVD player. The kitchenette is equipped with: kettle, toaster, microwave, fridge, sink and utensils (please note there is NO oven). The heat pump has been temperamental so we've put in a small fan heater and another heater with a timer, for the colder months. Ranch slider doors open onto a patio where there is a BBQ you can use; if you use it, please use the black BBQ vinyl & clean up afterwards. Thank you :o). The garden has views across to Labyrinth Rocks. Theatrical scripts have been written in the chalet, so don't be surprised if you feel the urge to create. There seems to be something in the air which inspires. Well, it inspires me anyway. A perfect relaxing holiday retreat or a base for more extreme relaxing.

Thank you Frank, we're pleased you enjoyed your stay. Haste ye back!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
The unit is like a large sleep-out, with just about everything you could need. The bed was comfy, water pressure excellent, and everything spotlessly clean. We really enjoyed the lemons in the garden also.
Highly recommended, and we'll be keen to stay again next year!

That is lovely to hear Tim, we are delighted that you enjoyed your stay.
Thank you for your kind words.
All the best,
Alli :o)
We enjoyed our stay for a few days in this house immersed in the garden, with birds singing and citrus fruits around. The house is close to Wharariki beach and Te Waikoropupū Springs, which both are wonderful places to visit.
Just double check your arrival time as the road through Takaka hill might be closed (it is the reason for the three stars attributed to the location).
Tidy, homely unit.
Loved the fruit trees.
Good location.
Great hosts
Wifi would be good especially as cell reception not great (at least with 2degrees).
Over all comfy, lovely stay, grear value.
Many thanks.
we found the hosts very thoughtful in providing small items that most holiday makers dont carry , eg. washing machine powder , pegs , small food containers , plastic bags and games.
Comfortable, clean and well equipped - a great stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place was more spacious than expected, very clean, and the bed and pillows were comfy. It was great having the kitchenette which was equipped with everything you could need. Having a washing machine I’m the bathroom was a bonus! The place is situated in a beautiful garden (the lemons are the best tasting we’ve ever had) with farmland around, but only a few mins drive into Takaka town. We didn’t meet the hosts in person but they were available on messages and checked in on us to see that everything was ok. Overall a great stay and highly recommend
We spent only nights there as we're with a wider group. It was great to go back to peace & quiet to sleep! ☺️ Unfortunately the long weekend rained heavily which made everything a little damp however there was plenty of heating if needed - as we did, to dry out towels . Ali was in touch with us over the weekend and was very generous regarding the rain. In fine weathe
Nice location a comfortable walking distance outside of town. It's a very pretty area with lots to see. Guesthouse was clean and comfortable if overfurnished. Keep the windows closed at night as mosquitoes are rather bad. Not having wi-Fi was also an inconvenience. Somehow we must've missed that, if it was included in the description. Overall we had a good time there. Thank you
Nice quiet location. However, microwave & TV didn't work. We felt the response to these issues was poor as they had been reported by a visitor earlier the previous month and nothing done about them. The owners were away and didn't not have a backup person to help out.We stayed for 4 nights, 5days, and would have appreciated a change of towels however, there was no other towels available. We were able to wash the ones we had, but there was minimal washing powder provided.A very cluttered unit with too much furniture. Very clean unit.

Disappointing -
TV, air con / heat pump, microwave were not working.
No milk , only 2 tea bags.
No hair dryer, no clothes pegs, no face washers.
No way to contact hosts or book a bach - we sat in the car on the street for over half an hour then went into the neighbour's and were given a phone number - then the combination for the lock box.
No security stays on the windows.
It was however, nice and close to to town.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience David, did Bookabach not send you the entry instructions? They usually do. It's also odd you found the TV and microwave not working as they usually work fine. I will certainly look into that as soon as I can. I'm also going to look at those windows, I thought they had limiters fitted.
Felt not suitable for winter stay especially older folk. Cold and damp on arrival....seemed hadnt been used for a while. More a summer stay. Towels were damp as rolled up. Lots condensation first and second nights. Third night building was warmer. Bed and kitchen very good. Couldn't work TV. Shower could have been cleaner at base. Sorry left icecream in box in fridge icebox...cleaner will need to remove. Loved the native birds. Didnt see a property manager so cant rate

Hi Folks, we're sorry you didn't have as good a visit as you hoped. Right enough, we hadn't been able to come over and give the place a good airing as is often needed in winter. A combination of events which prevented our usual system - sorry. If you decide to have another visit, in warmer times, contact us directly and we will arrange an additional night's accommodation free of charge. A & R
This place was perfect for our needs as we were out and about most of the time - definitely no complaints at all. It's in a good location close to town but quiet. Nice.
