A beautifully furnished luxury vacation home in its own grounds on the ski hill

The Space: In this chalet on the ski hill you can experience a luxury vacation at one of the finest homes at the Fernie Alpine Resort. The location of the home is superb being set in its own grounds with easy access to both the resort centre and the slopes. The house has recently undergone a complete and extensive refurbishment and now has the finest quality fixtures, fittings and furniture. The interior of the chalet is full of character with a ski lodge feel and warm comfortable furniture. It has a lovely mixture of traditional with modern and is beautifully furnished throughout. A must for those who enjoy a little comfort and style when on vacation or holiday. You may never want to leave this house. However, be prepared for wildlife. The owners and neighbours of this house have seen (on the front lawn and at the rear of the property) deer, black bears and even a moose which took a liking to the hot tub area.

Guest Access:There are four large bedrooms. Each room has a large king size, queen size or double bed (they are very comfortable). The main bedroom has an en suite and a pull out sofa bed. One of the other bedrooms also has a set of bunk beds. There is a large kitchen with modern appliances (even a TV) and a breakfast bench. There are lounge and dining areas and it even has an indoor heated swimming pool, a steam room, a sauna, a hot tub and a games room with every toy you could want from pinball machines and pool to arcade games. This substantial property sits on its own grounds with unencumbered forest at the rear of the house.

The Neighborhood: This premium substantial ski chalet beckons the discerning winter sports lover. Fernie Alpine Resort offers some of the most challenging skiing anywhere in Canada and has an amazing snow record with over 12m falling on average ever season. Originally a mining town, the ski hill (where you will find this stunning vacation home) is located just 4km out of the historic town and offers wide, well managed slopes alongside some fierce off-piste areas and steep chutes. Its beauty has provided the film location for several Hollywood films including John Cusack’s Hot Tub Time Machine and the Christmas film Santa Pups 2. It is also a tremendous place to stay in the summer and there is plenty to do, from mountain biking to zip-lining, from golf to fishing. At the rear of the property is a deck that overlooks the forest at the rear, complete with barbeque.

The property has been issued a short term rental temporary use permit (STR 104-24) that has been issued by the Regional District of East Kootenay.

Getting Around: There is parking at the house. The house is on the ski hill so it is a short walk (or very short drive) to the ski village.

The group of us had a fantastic stary here. The indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, sauna, and games room were excellent and we had a blast. I would recommend this place for any large group who likes to have fun.

Beautiful house on the hill

We had a lovely stay at this property gathering family for a wedding celebration weekend. Despite being in the shoulder season, there was lots to do -- beautiful hikes nearby and the house has lots of built-in entertainment with the pool, sauna, hot tub and games room.

Great Ski Trip Base!

We loved this house - we rented it for a ski / cat ski trip and found it to be a great place with plenty of room for our group, and awesome amenities (like the pool, hot tub and game room)! It was very clean and very well equipped, and the entry way had a boot / glove dryer and lots of space for all of our gear. The owner was very helpful and responsive, and I'd strongly recommend this house!

It’s somehow better than the pictures.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Sitting in the backyard under the covered deck, listening to the rain, surrounded by forest, was amazing. The pool is actually bigger than I expected and the sauna is top tier. The only “issues” were some small cleaning-related things - it appeared that a few sets of sheets hadn’t been washed.

Perfect getaway

This property is exceptional. The amenities are great and provided many hours of entertainment (in addition to some great snowboarding). Steam room, hot tub and sauna were so nice to unwind in after a big day. The location is perfect, literally 60 seconds drive from the main parking lot. Very clean, very comfortable. 10/10 would recommend.

The Family That Skis Together

We highly recommend this property to any group looking for a large luxurious property that can entertain all age groups. For the kids and energetic adults the wet fun and games room can't be beat. Fernie Alpine Resort is a fabulous ski mountain and the Town of Fernie has everything you might need. Property was clean, well outfitted and the host/property management were very attentive to any inquiries we had. Overall, we had a week to remember forever!

Great house for kids and adults

It was a great house for a week of skiing at Fernie. Very close to the mountain. The game room was key for the kids and the mud room was great to deal with all our wet gear when we got home each day. The kitchen could be better stocked, but the owner did promise to update pots/pans/dishes so hopefully that will be fixed soon. Overall we really enjoyed our stay !

Something for everyone!

We stayed at this beautiful house for 3 nights during the summer for a family getaway. Ages ranged from 14-75 and there was something for everyone to do here! We loved cooling off in the pool and relaxing in the sauna and steam shower. The game room with video games, billiards, pin ball, etc was amazing. Great space in the kitchen area to play board games. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen well-stocked. The neighborhood was nice and and easy walk or bike ride to the resort. Only a few minutes drive to the town of Fernie for restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay again!

Clean & Cozy

Our family takes an annual ski trip to a different mountain each year. This property was the best rental to date. Normally, we stay in ski-in/out but when I saw the amenities, we couldn't pass this property up. We arrived to find a very clean and cozy home. The pictures perfectly represent this property. Even the pool/steam/sauna area was very clean. All the rooms and beds were very comfortable. The amenities are fun for all ages. The gas starter in the fireplace provides an instant wood burning fire. Close proximity to the village. Bring snowshoes to explore the beautiful forest walking trails just down the road. The hosts are very gracious with reasonable rules and requests. I had a question and called the property management company, they were extremely kind and helpful. There is a drip coffee maker.

Fantastic Fernie Getaway

What a fantastic Fernie getaway. Our family of four spent some time here this summer and we can’t wait to return. We found the property location perfect for us. On a quiet street nestled on the edge of the forest you feel quite secluded and a part of the surrounding nature. A short walking distance to the Fernie Alpine resort where we used the hiking and mountain bike trails, only minutes away to the elk river and it’s renowned fly fishing and short drive into town for the amenities. The home was very clean upon our arrival, almost spotless. The bedrooms are large and dressed with clean fresh linens and a huge master en-suite. We had many dining options from the large kitchen table to the rear deck or front patio. The basement is fully decked out for an evening of fun. We had many pinball tournaments and a blast with the arcade games. Now, the indoor pool, steam room, sauna, beautiful hot tub! Need I say more? All very clean and stocked with plenty of towels. We had all that we needed during our stay here and the host Ian was very responsive during our booking and stay answering all of our questions. Thanks again Ian. Paul.
