About the property

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 8

Enjoy an outdoorsy getaway with your friends and family at this lakefront Burnet vacation rental. The rustic home is the perfect restorative home for a family trip or for a few couples looking for a peaceful retreat.

The split level home is located on a quiet cove on Lake Buchanan, just 11 miles to town. A public boat launch is a short drive away, and boaters can anchor in the cove for mornings spent fishing! Day trips are best spent just 66 miles away in downtown Austin.

The no-frills but comfortable lodge offers everything you need when taking a break from the great outdoors including a fully stocked kitchen, living room, wood fireplace, and two decks overlooking the water.

Your kitchen is stocked with modern appliances (including a coffee maker, a blender, and dishwasher) and a kitchen island to make meal prep a breeze. Please clean your catch outside! Social meals are best spent around the six-person dining table.

Unwind after dinner in the spacious living room with a flick on cable TV, or grab a board game from the library. Warm your toes by the fire with a bottle of wine from the new local winery Torr Na Lochs. This home has no Internet access, but you'll never miss WiFi thanks to breathtaking views from the deck!

You'll find two kayaks, and a rowboat at this home, which you can take out on the water for a peaceful reprieve (please note that this home does not have its own boat dock). Beyond your lakeside home, you may venture through underground river caves at Longhorn Cavern State Park or hike into the Devil's Waterhole at Inks Lake State Park. Outdoor equipment rentals and guides are aplenty, whether you want to take part in the river cruise or look for bald eagles.

The city of Burnet is charming and rich in culture. Take a walking tour at the Historic Square or watch a Wild West reenactment. The Highlands Lakes Air Museum, Hill Country Science Mill, and Fort Croghan Museum provide interactive exhibits for all ages and major urban attractions are within 66 miles in Austin!

Plan your intimate escape with family to this Texas vacation rental, truly a charmer right on the lake!

About Vacasa of Texas

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Stunning views

This home is ideal for getting away from it all. Private, not too far away from Austin, but far enough to feel like you’re getting away, clean, comfy, and spectacular views. We will be returning very soon!

It's a nice place with a beautiful view

 • 3 of 5

We enjoyed our stay but wasn't the best place for fishing at the bank. It's too steep and dangerous for some people to get down to the water. The playroom area where the washer and dryer is located was locked and we had no access to it even though it is listed as being accessible on the website. We called but were told that because the washer wasn't working we would not be able to use that room. It is on the bottom level of the home and would have been nice to put our fishing gear instead of carrying it up to the top level of the home each time. In my opinion it should have said it was not accessible and maybe even discounted slightly. Also there were 7 of us and only 4 rolls of toilet paper in the house for the 4 day 3 night stay and not enough washcloths. It's a good thing I took my own toiletries with me because its a long drive to a store. The master bedroom gets hot when it's hot out but there is a fan and it gets really cold when the cold front came through and so did the bedroom with the 2 full size beds. They definitely need to exterminate because we saw several spiders inside the house and cobwebs and spiders all over the outside along with wasp nest. I would also suggest they put more than 2 trashcans with lids outside for people to put the trash before they checkout.

First Family vacation

 • 4 of 5

I loved how beautiful the home and views of the lake were. The home itself was nice and clean but the outside of the home needs to be exterminated. There's alot of spiders and wasp in the awning and around the deck. It's great if your going to relax but if your planning on fishing it's a steep embankment to get down. Also, the playroom that has the washer and dryer in it is not accessible we were told after we arrived due to the washer being broke. It would still have been nice to been able to have access to this room. Overall we had a good time with our family.

Great time at the lake!

 • 4 of 5

I enjoyed this house, located around a curvy, curvy road in a secluded neighborhood. It did not take long to feel comfortable and at home. I enjoyed the easy access to the lake and the lake amenities included for our use.
