Hillside House - Meredith Lodging

Hillside House boasts breathtaking, panoramic Pacific views and light through huge windows. That upper story is reached via two little steps from the front door, making it easy to access the great room with its wall of western windows and three queen bedrooms, one of which is a suite with an accessible walk-in shower.

The kitchen is large and open enough for several cooks, and the breakfast bar and dining table mean there’s seating for everyone. Downstairs is equally delightful, with a game room with a pool table, a bunkroom with a mini-kitchen and sleeping couch, TV, and extra bunk beds in an adjoining bedroom.
The kids will be glad to stay below deck, especially because large view windows continue on the ground level, bringing light and views downstairs. Since you’re in Roads End, miles of sandy beach are just down the hill. You’re also a 5-minute drive to restaurants, a McMenamins brew pub, shopping and the Chinook Winds Casino. But you might just find yourself relaxing in your hillside hideaway, watching wind-surfers and sunsets from the large upper-story deck.

Excellent place to gather family!

Lovely and spacious home that is cozy and warm. Great space to gather a group (there were 9 adults) with plenty of beds.The ocean view is absolutely stunning. Would definitely book again!

Christmas with our children and 90 year old mother.

Beautiful view. New windows and blinds. Kitchen was well stocked. New washer and dryer. The beds need updating but we would definitely stat again, and would recommend to friends.

The driveway is really steep but we got used to it. I don't know how 4 vehicles could park at the top and still have room to maneuver. The house was very spacious. The living room furniture could use a refresh. The shower in the basement didn't work. Management was very quick to respond the one time I did vontact yhemtimdidcontact

Spacious! Beautiful view!

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! Very close to beach access. Nice yard. Very clean. Nice large rooms and common areas. The only thing I wish I knew before hand, that wasn’t disclosed, was this house has a very steep driveway.

Family reunion

Great home for small family reunion. Walked to beach. Steep driveway and old pool table with no pool sticks you could use, no power in downstairs bedroom only complaints. Could use better fry pans too. Good sleeping for our group! Enjoyed the view and pur stay, thx!!!

Cleaners were still cleaning at check-in time. 4 beds did not have bottom sheets. We found the clean sheets in a cupboard, not folded.

Place was large and clean but was minimal in making things comfortable. Electronic lock was acting up, perhaps needing a battery or calibration. No bathmats, no extra towels for beach, no Keurig, old pillows (very flat) - as examples. The views and area are nice, but some money needs to be put in to it make it a place one would like to come back to.

Nice Property

The front deck is showing wear and is scary. The carpeting throughout the home is in need of deep cleaning very badly, also bedspreads. Flooring tiles are coming up in the kitchen. Otherwise we enjoyed our time with relatives we dont often see ant the view cannot be beat. Thank you Meredith Properties.

Family reunion successful

The house allowed for very active toddlers and an ADA 87 year old! Hard to do. The house had all the needed amenities for cooking and relaxing. Loved the lazy boy couches and chairs! Basic but completely functional, great view, enough yard to run kids. Beds comfortable and enough for 8 adults and several kiddos. A bit of a walk DOWN to the beach and a hike UP the hill to house. But whale watching is successful from the deck!

Great View on a Rainy Day

Big home including two public spaces. Place was clean but dated. Beds comfortable (except ones with plastic covers) but pillows lacking . Great wall of windows looking out to ocean. Comfy living room furniture that seats seven and easy on/off gas stove. Management was quick to come fix a plugged dishwasher drain. Perfect upper level for an elder with limited mobility.

Special Time with Siblings

My three brothers and I decided we wanted a getaway. One brother is battling cancer, and this may have been our last opportunity for a getaway that would include all four of us. It’s hard to gibd an ADA-friendly home at the beach, but this worked well. This home was lovely, with a beautiful view of the ocean. It’s pet-friendly and as expected, there were minor signs of pets. There were a few maintenance items that had been neglected, but communication with the management was fast and easy. I would definitely stay here again.

Pleasant get away

View is amazing and home was very clean and comfortable. Beach is a short walk away, however, hill up to house is very steep and some folks may have trouble getting up/down. Kitchen floor is in need of repair as it is coming up in places and can be a trip hazard. Pool table needs re-felting and is not in good condition. Dryer is very noisy and needs repair attention.

Perfect!

The view is amazing! You can hear the waves slapping on the shore. The house was clean and smelled fresh upon arrival. Hillside House is roomy - plenty of room for everyone to spread out and relax. Beach is close enough to walk - uphill climb on the way back 😊 The living room furniture is comfortable. The kitchen adequate. There is one in suite bath upstairs. The other upstairs bath is in the hall - between the other 2 bedrooms. Good floor plan. I have to emphasize the view again! Love it! Would stay again definitely!

Gorgeous view and quiet neighborhood

This was a large home with a beautiful view. We loved it here. It's not a fancy house but it's comfortable. We loved sitting on the porch. My kids loved the pool table. We loved that they could be downstairs and the adults upstairs. Also thank you for allowing my dog. It was his first family vacation with us. Meredith Lodging was fabulous to deal with. Always quick with the communication. A few things: 1) The driveway is very steep. Our van is low and scraped the back bumper as we went from the street to the driveway. My dad's vehicle had no problem. Parking is limited and difficult, but doable. 2) The carpets need to be cleaned. 3) These mattresses desperately need to be replaced, at least in the large upstairs room and smaller bedroom with a bathroom.
