  • Nice Beach House

"What a great place to stay at a very good rate. I was a first time user on VRBO and needless to say, I was a little skeptical. Everything turned out way better than I expected. The beach house is really nice, very clean, good smelling, new or fairly new appliances. The beds and couch and everything was comfortable. You can see the ocean from the front room and master bedroom (through the buildings across the street) and hear the waves rolling in all night. Very peaceful. I will defiantly recommend this stay to my family and friends and for sure stay there again myself. Oh ya, very good communications with the owners too."

  • Delightful home on the Oregon coast

"A wonderful townhome on the Oregon coast. Cara was outstandingly responsive and helpful throughout the booking process. The overall condition of the property is excellent, which is particularly evident in comparison to some of the adjacent properties, which make it evident that significant effort is required in upkeep given the effects of the coastal climate. The home itself is set back from the beach by perhaps 50' of scrubland, which is great as it's both scenic and affords extra privacy. The location is just on the edge of the town of Rockaway Beach, close enough for a quick walk to town, but distant enough to again be a bit more removed and quieter. Railroad tracks run adjacent to the property but are used infrequently for sightseeing trains, which are not disruptive and fun to greet. The adjacent road can generate noticeable noise in the two (non-master) BRs on the rear (road-facing) side of the house if the windows are open. Inside, there's one bed and one half bath upstairs, with an excellent kitchen and living room opening onto a balcony with an unobstructed beach view. Downstairs, there's a master bed with en suite bath; the bedroom opens onto the scrubland. The third bedroom, and separate full bath, are at the rear (road-facing) side of the house. Parking for two cars. No AC, but well ventilated by the ocean breeze if you leave open the abundant windows (note no screens are provided, but bugs were not a problem.) Dog friendly, and any dog would be thrilled by the easy beach access, but there was admirably no evidence of wear from prior pet stays. The only downside to the location was the potential for road noise (noticeable only if road-facing windows are open). The only minor issue with the property itself was a weak WiFi signal and suboptimal router configuration (made you re-enter password through a web gateway every time you reconnected to the network), which could be improved with a stronger router and different configuration. In addition, the internet is slow (5 mbps), although that wasn't unexpected for the location, and presumably one doesn't come to the Oregon coast to spend all day on a computer. However, these were very minor issues. Overall, we had an outstanding stay at Diamond Beach, thanks both to Cara's diligent efforts and to the high quality and great location of the property. We would happily stay there again and would warmly recommend it to others."

"Great condo, could use some basic cleaning to make the carpet and views better but otherwise great place, wonderful beach and views!"
