Lifelong friends together again

We're friends from grade and high school in PA who now live elsewhere and don't get together too often. We're so happy that we got together in Charleston area and loved the house. It's location was perfect for seeing Mt Pleasant, the beaches and getting to Charleston Visitors' Center. We loved the amenities in the house, and we wished it was warmer weather to sit out back.

This house was in a wonderful location! My family was in town for a Charleston wedding. Itā€™s close to Charleston with lots of restaurants in the neighborhood too. Would definitely stay here again.

Mt Pleasant House

Overall experience was very positive. Only negative was the closeness of the road in front of the house. It is a busy street and pictures don't reflect how close it really is. House was very clean and well kept. Upstairs bedrooms were comfortable and there really wasn't any road noise in the house. The house does actually have wifi although some of the paperwork said it doesn't. About 1/2 hour from the airport, 20 min to downtown or the coast, so convenient to restaurants

Family Thanksgiving stay

This was a great home for my family to stay during Thanksgiving. The location was perfect. The house was ample and could sleep quite a few. We will look to book this again in the future.

Citadel Parents Weekend

This house was perfect for all of our family to stay for Parents weekend. Close to the campus. Everything we needed nearby. House was roomy, clean and well stocked. Would definitely recommend

Great location for all areas of Charleston

The only challenge we had was with the AC upstairs. It was miserable at first but we opened windows and turned on all ceiling fans. For visiting, cooking, and attending multiple locations it couldnā€™t be beat. Will be back.

Spacious but needs update/repair

The home was large enough for our entire party. And the location is good and close to everything that we needed. We were there for a weekend long wedding. The house needs some updates and some repairs. We noticed the garage door is broken and could be a safety hazard. The upstairs bathroom has no electricity and made it very difficult for a group of eight people to get ready. We had to use mirrors from other areas of the house And move them to an electrical outlet in order to be able to blow dry hair use curling irons, etc..

Perfect Location

Perfect location as we went between the Mount Pleasant golf courses and downtown. House was as expected, 5 big bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Place isn't brand new but clean and definitely some updates made. Thanks

Girls Trip

We had a great stay. House was very nice. Plenty of sleeping space and all beds were comfy! Convenient location to Charleston Market, King St, Sullivanā€™s Island and Shem Creek. One thing that would be helpful for future guest is to provide beach chairs. When flying you donā€™t have room for them and unable to rent at beach. Was a great long weekend!

Did not meet expectations. There were bed bugs in one of the rooms, which is unacceptable and we had to make alternate sleeping arrangements for 2 adults ( one on a futon and one a small couch). This problem was discussed with evolve and messages were sent to the owner with no reply to us ( the renters). The owner did have an exterminator come, however that does not compensate us for the inconvenience. Also, this was the dirtiest house we have stayed at, cobwebs, dusty baseboards, dead bugs in the light fixtures and we were afraid to use the washer due to the rusty lid. This house was convenient to find and close to the places we visited which were the only positive aspects to our stay. We were very disappointed that the host did not respond to our text messages.

Mt. Pleasant stay

The house was adequate but there seemed to be a musty or moldy smell to the place. We had several people who had runny noses inside but were fine when they were outside or at other places. It would be nice to have a mirror in the master and we didnā€™t find power in the upstairs bathroom.

Not a great experience

Layout was kinda cool. We Could spread out. Ample parking. House appeared to be clean however after a couple days we noticed issues like finding dead roaches in the kitchen. We could tell there mustā€™ve been a rodent problem also given that there were traps in the garage. We could hear something knocking stuff over in the garage at night and perhaps under the house or in the walls. The final bad thing that occurred was one of our travelers broke out in a rash, and after diagnosis today we found that they were bitten by bedbugs. Sofa and chairs were comfortable. Dining room table was good size bathrooms were dated and toilet was loose in one of the bathrooms.

Good lodging for larger groups

For our group, the accommodations were adequate for sleeping. Lounging in the "living" room was limited to a handful of people so it was hard to have everyone together. If you are willing to spit the group up in mornings or evenings, the second floor offers a comfortable secondary living room and dining room. The second floor dining room doubles as a sunroom in the mornings. Morning sunlight floods the room making for a cheery place to enjoy coffee. The kitchen was tight but efficient. Our group enjoyed the gas stove cooking and cast iron pans. Only a few minor downsides to this property - large inviting backyard with no access or patio to enjoy it, most of our group complained of mattresses being too soft and causing some morning aches and pains, property, while well maintained for the most part, shows its age. If your aim is to spend most of your time out and about and use this house to recoup overnight, this is your place. Super easy access to routes into Charleston and walking distance to a few eateries, coffee, pharmacy, Would stay here again with a large group.

The property was clean and we were looking forward to the room we were going to have. Unfortunately ,we had a heating problem in the largest part of the house and were uncomfortable eating any meals, using the kitchen and showering. The temp for our entire stay in the largest area of the house was between 55 and 64 degrees due to a furnance that they could not fix. Fortunately, we could get under the covers during the night to stay warm. When we got up to put our clothes on, they also were cold due to them just being in the room. I gave myself a sink washing to start out the day and as I washed, had to put my pajamas back on for warmth and then wash the bottom of my body and put the rest of my cloths on. I owned a home in Floriada for 39 years and rented it out myself. I never had anything happen like this. It was a must to inspect the heating and air every year to make sure nothing l ike this happened. I am sorry that I cannot give this home a good review. I have a picture of the 55 degrees on the thermastate. We paid extra for the room and could not use the largest part of the home. .

Poor communication

Upon arriving, the downstairs temperature was 44 degrees. We tried lighting the range and it would not light, so my husband notices a propane tank outside. It was empty. I called the maintenance guy's number and had to leave a message...he never returned my call the whole 3 night stay. Called the number for the cleaning lady and left message to ASAP, never received a call. My son son called her and had to leave a message that we had an emergency at the property. We waited for an hour with no return call or text. My husband called the main number for Evolve and was on hold for a while but did receive an answer. The lady called the owner while he was on hold and she told apologized for the situation. She told my husband she would call him back in an hour but he never received a call back. 2 hours later an gentleman arrived with the propane truck and filled the tank and the tank on the grill. We did enjoy the house and it was clean. Hopefully, this will not happen to any other people who stay there.
