Overview

About the property

Find your Utopia at Four Sisters Ranch Cabin

Four Sisters Ranch Cabin is one of two cabins available on Four Sisters Ranch. (Kat's Kabin is the 2nd.) It is nestled in the Texas Hill Country at 1848 Lemond Rd. about 7 miles from Utopia, Texas. The location is between Lost Maples State Natural Area and Garner State Park! We invite you to enjoy our secluded ranch cabin. Hike, bike and explore 500 acres of a working family ranch.

Sip your coffee on the back porch with a fantastic view. This is a perfect place to unwind, make s’mores around the fire pit, star-gaze, enjoy the fresh country air and escape the stresses of the city. No nearby neighbors, city lights, or traffic.

You can enjoy the sounds of nature, wildlife and a beautiful night sky. You will see a variety of wildlife from the porch including deer, turkey, wild hogs and hummingbirds. Fire Flies will be seen during the summer months.

Located 90 mi NW of San Antonio and 7 mi from Utopia. The cabin is 10 miles from Vanderpool, TX home to Lost Maples State Park, Polvadeau Vineyards and the Lonestar Motorcycle Museum. Garner State Park, the Frio River and Concan are about 30 minutes away. Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Medina, Concan, Boerne, Bandera and Comfort are all close by and great for shopping. Night life is available in Bandera.

Our curvy, scenic roads boast fantastic hill country views. Local activities: Golf in Utopia (the setting for the movie 7 Days in Utopia). Go swimming at Utopia Park on the Sabinal River, Float the Frio River. Hike at Garner Park. Go birding at Lost Maple Park. Gaze at the stars. Photograph the picturesque hill country views. BBQ on the patio. Go wine tasting at Polvadeau Vineyards. The Texas hill country is a wonderful year around birding & wildlife viewing destination! We are in one of the best areas of Texas to see the Golden Cheeked Warbler, Black Capped Vireo, Vermilion Flycatcher and more!

Dine at The Laurel Tree in Utopia (requires a reservation) and Mac & Ernies in Tarpley for a fantastic dining experience! Utopia has two cafes and sometimes great BBQ on Saturdays at Big Ern's.

The nearest airport is in San Antonio (~1.5 hr drive). Austin is an ~ 3 hour drive.

Other Things to Note One night bookings are only allowed during week days not week-ends. For major holidays, a three night minimum is required.

Utopia is a very small community with a general store, bank, gas station, cafe and a few shops. Limited groceries are available at the general store. The nearest large grocery store and hospital is 45 miles ( Hondo, Kerrville or Uvalde). Cell phone service is very limited, only AT&T works and it is spotty.

Beer and wine can be purchased at the convenience store north of Vanderpool near Lost Maples State Park not in Utopia.

You can also rent Kat's Kabin #913458 if you would like to bring another family with you. It is about .2 mles away,

We will rent for one night during the week. Send me a message if interested.

Our cabin sleeps 4 on two queen beds. No more than four people are allowed unless you have prior approval by the owner. There is a full kitchen and bath. There is a TV with DVD player and a large selection of movies for you to enjoy. There is a large porch on the front and back of the cabin where you can relax and watch the wildlife come to the feeder.

GPS is not always accurate. Sometimes it takes people to Hwy 1050 and that is not the way! Take Hwy 187 north from Utopia. In 3 miles go left on West Sabinal Rd. Continue until you get to Lemond Rd. Take a left on Lemond and continue until you get to 1848. Look for the Four Sisters Ranch signs at the turns.

Exactly as advertised... quiet, peaceful, unplugged vacation

  • 5 of 5

Great getaway cabin; clean, well supplied. The beds and pillows are incredibly soft and comfortable. You’ll have no trouble sleeping in! The front and back porches allow nature to provide you with a peaceful, relaxing vacation. A great place away from all distractions. If you’re looking for a place that permits you to read that book, write that song, or identify those birds, this is the place for you. Lots of hiking opportunities for the more adventurous. Owners are super sweet and friendly. Only downfall (???) is very limited to no cell phone coverage. But then again, it’s part of the charm of this getaway.... and WHY you have the opportunity to read that book, write that song, or identify those birds. We’ll be going back!

Owner's Response: From this beautifully written review I can only imagine what beautiful prose you must have written on the back porch! We look forward to seeing you again!

Ah-MAZING!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was exactly what I had hoped: tranquility, seclusion, and beauty. The cabin itself is so comfortable and quaint and the property is so beautiful with lots of room to roam. We especially enjoyed the back porch and deck and the fire pit.
