Treat yourself to a private getaway in this barn-house that combines country living with easy access to the best of Berea and McKee. From relaxing in the bright and airy sunporch while sipping on your morning coffee provided by the Keurig, to watching your favorite show in the cozy TV room, youā€™ll certainly want to stay a while.

This structure was once my great-uncleā€™s barn. Several years ago the barn was converted into a dwelling. We have recently updated this space to make it even more comfortable and enjoyable. We have a queen-size bed, a full-size bed, and when needed a full-size air mattress. We provide a DVD player and a smart TV so guests can log into their Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc. The kitchen has everything youā€™ll need to cook a great meal, but you will need to bring your own food. We provide coffee, small snacks, and locally-sourced bottled water. Nearby is a 24-hour convenience gas station, with a small restaurant that serves food all day (breakfast is served until approximately 10 a.m.). My personal favorite is the ā€œHunt Brothersā€ thin crust pizza. We are 10 minutes from The Pinnacles hiking trails in Berea. We are less then 15 minutes from Berea College, historic Boone Tavern restaurant, and PapaLenoā€™s Italian restaurant. The nearest Walmart is 20 minutes away. We are 10 minutes from the courthouse in McKee, and 20 minutes from Flat Lick Falls in Gray Hawk. If prospective guests are new on the platform and or have no prior review ratings we do require a photo ID to complete the booking.

Finding the house was a little tricky (our fault) MAKE SURE YOU HEED THE ADVICE AND SET YOUR ODOMETER OFF THE EXIT. Even woth that, we oblybhad to back track not even a half a mile. The place itself is very cozy and exceptionally clean! We got to see some deer playing while having coffee on the sun porch. We didnt get to spend much time here as we were only here for 2 days for a family reunion but we slept well and felt very safe.

Barn-house on the Hill is a beautiful step back in time with all the modern ammenities. The house is easy to get to and get into. The beds were super comfy with absolutely luxurious linens. (My sister wants to know where they are from and says you need an online storefront because all your product choices are amazing!) The kitchen has plenty of cooking implements to go with the lovely decor. The bathroom is well stocked, exceptionally clean, had plenty of thick, fluffy towels, and lots of little extras. The toilet itself is low and small. If you have someone with mobility issues you should keep in mind this and a step in. The entire home is decorated beautifully and the hosts have truly thought of everything including places to plug in, cards, and some games including checkers and pool to keep your crew entertained. There is lots to do in the area and a thoughtful table with information on all the local fare and activities. The location is gorgeous and allows for seclusion while being close to the necessities. I suggest grabbing groceries and snacks on the way in. It's so comfy and inviting you won't want to leave. Chad and Lewis were amazing hosts. They answered our questions and anticipated our needs right down to putting out extra coffee pods and offering a larger pot when we just mentioned we're coffee drinkers. We are now in love with this little house on the hill and hope to visit regularly. I cannot thank our hosts enough for making our short visit so specia

The house was very clean and beautifully decorated. Chad, the property owner, was very pleasant to work with. We enjoyed the pool table and was very pleased with how comfortable/clean the furniture was. We will definitely be back and would recommend this property to anyone.

What a clever way to make use of an old barn. Nicely renovated & clean. Very comfortable. Enjoyed looking over the farm and talking with Lewis. Great communication & very attentive to guests. Would definitely stay again if in the Berea area. Thanks for letting us stay at your place.

Love the Barnhouse !

Stayed with my sis to putz around Berea and get some hiking in. The Barnhouse is everything you could ask for as a place to crash after all that. Super clean, very comfortable, not far from townā€¦. the owners have thought of everything too! Great kitchen and bath setups. We had to depart a day early unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, but Chad and his pop were very understanding and gracious. Highly recommend!

Clean and Cozy

Everything was as expected, maybe even better than expected. We appreciated the nice amenities. We were able to cook nice meals in the kitchen. Relaxing on the patio was nice while it rained. Everything was outstandingly clean! Check in was easy and hosts are very informative. Great location if you are looking to get away and go enjoy nature. There are ATV access trails just down the road too. The beds are comfy and sheets are very nice and soft! We had everything we needed. We hope to return to this rental soon. Recommend!
