The cottage is in the heart of Crackington Haven with stunning sea and rural views. It is full of character with an original slate floor which has underfloor heating, beams and a wood burner. Downstairs the cottage is open plan with a stylish kitchen, sitting and dining area. The kitchen has a dishwasher, hob and oven, microwave, Belfast style sink and fridge freezer. The sitting area has views to the front courtyard framed by sixteenth century barns and the rear patio doors leads on to a safe and secluded garden with views down to the sea from the garden. Upstairs has two bedrooms. One double bedroom with twin beds in the second bedroom. The cottage is charming throughout, full of character and is well maintained and kept throughout the year. The cottage is lovely to stay in all year with each season offering something special. It is particularly cosy during the winter months.

About Tim Mercer
Tim Mercer works in London and lives with his wife, Samantha and two children. Tim spent the first 20 years of his life in North Cornwall and has many happy childhood memories of the beautiful beach at Crackington Haven.
Tim Mercer purchased this Cottage in 2004
Why Tim Mercer chose Saint Gennys
We bought the cottage to be near to family in Cornwall, to use as a home for family holidays and for surfing with our two young boys.
What makes this Cottage unique
Naturally I am biased but I do believe the bay at Crackington is one of the most beautiful on the Cornish coast and an absolute delight for children. The cottage is gorgeous and in a great location for exploring all of Cornwall. Rain or shine, we always leave feeling refreshed and rested.

Really nice cottage
Cosy cottage everything you need to stay there and a nice area
We loved our stay
We totally enjoyed our one week stay at the cottage. It was warm and inviting, had all that we needed and was so well placed to all the places we wanted to see.
We can also recommend the Cabin Cafe for a BBQ steak and The Combe Barton Inn as two local great eating places. Further afield we enjoyed the Port William pub.
There are many nearby places to visit and, of course, the coastal path walking is excellent. Walks (there are two) from the cottage to The Haven are great so, you can easily walk down and enjoy a drink and meander home.
Tim was amazing and helped us with all our small and large questions.
Can totally recommend at stay.

I was very disappointed with the condition of the property
The location of the property is great for walkers and you can hop on the bus to local places of interest. The cottage is charming but in need of updating and TLC which I believe is planned.
Whilst this guest (during a very brief stay) raises some interesting points it is in everyone’s interest that guests maintain realistic expectations. We offer comfortable local accommodation, traditional in nature, in a beautiful location at exceptional value. We do not offer high end, luxury holiday accommodation where the nightly price exceeds our weekly rate. Since the beginning of the year all 12 individual guests staying prior to this particular traveller have submitted very positive feed- back, six of whom will be returning, four of these have already re-booked. This guest’s opinion regarding the property condition stands in stark, isolated contrast to the many hundreds we have previously received. However it is, nonetheless, helpful as we have now improved some minor items within our overall annual maintenance schedule to enhance guest experience. It is also helpful in that it may deter those who might need to consider matching expectations with budgets. After this review, the guests who arrived the following week also left a review. Perhaps this will lend some balanced insight and perspective:
“A truly wonderful and unique holiday cottage.
Trevean Cottage is a 16th century fisherman's home and breathes history in every corner. Therefore, our (second!) holiday here was a true Cornish experience, one you won't get from every other holiday home. We loved this well-equipped, cozy, clean and wonderful little gem of a cottage with its comfy beds, its beautiful stone floor (underground heating, yay!) and the quiet, blooming garden. It's a great place for kids, too: the owner provides books, games, beach gear, anti-roll-bars... you name it. Crackington Haven is SUPERB!!! Not too crowded, not too lonely either, with a stunning beach, a pub that serves delicious food and amazing sea-views, two nice cafés, yummy icecream, and enough really nice locals to still be lively and "real" off-season. I was tempted to write a bad review just to keep this lovely spot of earth a secret ;-). Crackington Haven is also a good base for exploring North Cornwall: Bude, Boscastle, Tintagel, Padstow, Bodmin Moor (go, go, go - it's well worth a visit!), Eden Project, Pencarrow House... we saw it all and LOVED every bit of it. Also, great walks just outside the cottage. Last but not least: Tim, the owner of the cottage, is the best host we've ever had ! Honestly, they don't make them like that here in Germany - or anywhere else we've been so far. We'll be back a third time!

Cosy, warm cottage well set up and in lovely tranquil location. Great walks and nearby beaches and pubs to explore!
Lovely spot in Cornwall
Had a very enjoyable stay at Crackington Haven. Great location in Cornwall and not too far to travel to Boscastle, Bude and Tintagel. The cottage was clean and comfortable and all was in order. Tim was very helpful with providing information to us prior to the trip.
Beds were very comfortable, the cottage was conveniently located and easy to find with parking for one car. The garden was lovely and even though the weather wasn't great it was lovely listening to the birds and enjoying the outside when we could.
Took some DVDs down to watch but there was not a DVD player there which we had expected from the details provided on booking. Although the smart TV made up for that.
The stairs were quite steep so if you are not so agile or a little elderly or infirm I think they would be difficult to negotiate with ease.
Shower was very basic but functional.
All in all a lovely time away - home from home.
Thank you Tim
Beautiful and cosy cottage, stunning beach nearby, loved our weekend here
We loved our stay here, the cottage is well equipped, very comfortable and brilliantly located with the shop next door and beach nearby too. Very quiet too. We especially enjoyed a walk at Boscaslte with a cream tea afterwards! Bude is nearby too as well as Tintagel which we would definately recommend a visit. We enjoyed a fantastic meal at The Port William pub in Trebarwith Strand, a lovely pub at the top of a cliff overlooking the sea. We hope to visit again.
Crackington Haven has a lovely, safe beach which is flanked by dramatic cliffs on each side. It has a number of rock pools to explore, is great for surfing and swimming. It takes a couple of minutes to drive down the hill to the beach.
Nearest airports are Newquay and Exeter. It is a one hour drive from Plymouth Port.
20 minutes drive to Bude and Camelford. One hour's drive to the Eden project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan.
