We are delighted that your birthday celebrations went so well! Our goal is always that our guests have a wonderful holiday and love Lou Paradou, Vence and its surrounding area as much as we do. During our many communications you repeated that you were ' loving every minute' - Françoise says you used the same phrase with her. This is exactly what we want to hear and I hope that my responses to your pre-trip requests for suggestions and advice regarding restaurants, shopping etc played a part in this. To address the issues that you wanted to bring to our notice: Obviously, we already knew about the DVD player and I phoned you immediately to apologise and to assure you that a new one was on its way. It was strange, as LG is a decent make and it had not seen much use. We had used it on a wet night with a takeaway at the end of June! I was afraid that DVD was still in the machine and when I tried to open it- this being the problem you encountered- I could hear the motor trying. When I prised the drawer open, the DVD I had left in there was indeed still there- and somebody had put a second on top of it!! I imagine only a child would have done this. No harm done anyway. If we need a spare, functioning player we now have one. We understand from Pierre that, when he delivered the new one to the house, there were, indeed, children 'running around'. This was unexpected as the booking was for six adults? These were the only children this summer except our own grandsons who emphatically did not ever watch any DVDs. We had also discussed the drains. I have now heard back from Thomas, the plumber, and understand that when he arrived to sort out the blocked loo you apologised and told him the blockage had cleared. He then checked the big manhole at the bottom of the garden and found a bit of grease and debris- as you would expect. There was no possibility that this caused the loo to block and he is absolutely adamant that it had nothing to do with your problem. We have never had a problem with this loo - the outfall goes down a large pipe that falls vertically about 15 feet to a large void- but will now put a little sign on the wall next to the loo saying that you need to hold the button down until the flush is complete- French flushes are different, perhaps, from English ones in this respect. We only found out about the curtain rail when I contacted the couple who followed you to welcome them and check that all was well- as I always do. She was very keen to make sure that I knew about it and did not think that they had pulled it off the wall. She said, as did you, that they were not bothered by it and did not want anyone to come and fix it. We have now seen it and it had come cleanly out of the wall. The wall was not damaged in any way and it was clearly not an issue of installation. These were newly installed in the spring to match the new decor. The ceilings are very high and a little care, perhaps, needs to be taken when pulling the curtains. This is why there are the pulling rods at the leading edge of them. We also did not know that the fire alarm had gone off. In view of the timing- first thing in the morning- and the enclosed location of the device, between the bathroom and bedroom, I would suggest that it was triggered by the use of an aerosol, deodorant possibly, as they are known to be sensitive to these. In many ways this was a positive, as it means the alarm is working as it should! The exploding lightbulb? I have no idea. Perhaps somebody had knocked the light over at some point and it was already fragile. We leave two drawers full of replacement bulbs in the kitchen for just such an eventuality. There should have been four large, red, decorative glass tiles on the table in kitchen. Their purpose is to protect our precious table from heated vessels. These seem to have disappeared. But no harm done, the table is undamaged. Once again, we are delighted that you had such a lovely holiday and thank you for taking the time to post your two photos which do capture the charm of the house.

Normalement notre jardinier prend soin de tout ça. Je le demanderai ce qui c'est passé pendant votre séjour. Merci pour vos gentils mots. Vous avez raison concernant la manque d'éclairage!! Nous avons juste installé des lampes solaires entre la maison et le jardin/ piscine!

Je ne comprend pas 'pièces très sombres'. C'est une vieille maison en pierres avec la vigne Virginie, entourée les grandes fenêtres du séjours, qui donne, avec les stores, un peu de protection du soleil. La maison face directement au sud. Presque chaque pièce a 2 ou 3 fenêtres. Les arbres aussi donnent leurs protection du soleil. C'est absolument claire dans la description qu'il n'y a pas de WiFi. Dans votre panique la journée avant de votre séjour j'ai pris l'impression que vous ne pouvez pas utiliser votre portable pour accèder l'internet: ça ce n'est pas normale. Nous utilisons nos portables anglais pendant tous nos séjours à Lou Paradou sans aucun problème. Et, pendant les 13 saisons de locations, avec tous nos locateures, qui sont venus du monde entier, personne n'a jamais plaint! La description explique aussi que la salle de bain à l'étage est une salle de bain secondaire et que la grande salle de bain au rez de chaussé est la principale, pas juste pour les 2 personnes dans la chamber au rez de chaussé. Il y a, à côté, une deuxième WC avec un lavabo. Personne n' a jamais trouvé un problème avant.

Merci pour vos gentils mots. Vous avez raison concernant le bain/ douche- ce n'est pas une cabine de douche et il serait impossible d'en construire une à cause de la pente du plafond. Donc, j'ai changé la déscription à ' un bain'. Mais la douche à main est utile. Il serait impossible d'installer la climatisation sans ruiner l'aspect de la maison

Je suis désue que votre weekend a été dérangé par la manque de WiFi. Vous nous avez envoyé ce message quand vous êtes arrivés. Bonsoir Elisabeth Tout va bien, je suis agréablement surpris par la maison, c’est parfait. A 3 nous avons de l’espace. C’est beaucoup plus jolie que les photos sur le site, et un grand merci pour cette délicate attention, je goûte déjà le rosé bio qui est très bon et bien frais 🥂. Bonne soirée Abdel A être honête vous m'avez déja demandé s'il y a de WiFi et j'ai dit que non. Nous sommes inquiètes qu'il y serait des problèmes avec la sécurité avec une ligne fixe et de l'internet. Nous et nos autres locateurs ont été toujours contents d'utiliser les portables même quand c'est un séjour de 3 semaines.

Nous sommes très heureuses que vous avez aimé notre Lou Paradou. Concernant votre seul bémol; je regrette que la vielle voisine a plaint. Elle n'a jamais rien dit avant, ni de nos petits fils (ages 11 et 5 ans) ni de tous nos autres locateurs pendant 13 années de location, même qu'elle a habité la même apartment. Aussi elle est assez loin de nous mais très proche à la piscine de la copropriété. À être juste, si on veut être à deux pas d' une ville ou d'un village on doit accepter qu'il y aura des voisins! En fait, notre maison est probablement un des plus privative en tout Vence et on profite tellement d' être si loin d'aucune circulation!! Nous disons de la copropriété dans notre description de la propriété: la securité, la tranquility, la manque de voitures etc. J'espére que vous pensez que cette réponse est juste.
