For the outdoor enthusiast as well as the theater goers and antique collectors, the highlands has so much to offer, and you couldn’t find a better home base than the River Garden.

The home is located directly on the river bank of the North Fork of the Holston River at the base of the Clinch Mountains, and has almost 400 feet of riverfront to fish, float, swim or just relax. The River is famous for its calm, flat waters making it ideal for peaceful kayaking on one of the 3 available for you, tubing, and wading, Anglers regard it highly for smallmouth bass fishing. Great Unique Hiking Trails,Labyrinths and Rock Climbing walls are only 20 minutes away at Hidden Valley Lake and the Channels State Forest. A 34 mile World-Class Rail Trails The Virginia Creeper Trail has its trailhead and bike rental shops just 15 minutes away.

The River Garden is a large ranch style home with 7 bedrooms all with private baths and 5 opening onto covered decks overlooking the gentle rapids of the river below. Perfect for a large family or friend reunion or business team building or retreat.

Its theater room with reclining chairs and 120 inch movie screen and 8’ cherry billiards table is a great place to wind down after a fun day in the river or on the trails. Or relax in the infrared sauna as you watch the heron fly over the river current. Directly off the theater is both an exercise room, wet bar, and spa bath. For the remote worker the private office workspace make it more enjoyable with panoramic views of the river and countryside.

The large galley style kitchen with tons of counter space is great for cooking with a crowd. It has a double convection oven and an oversized refrigerator with room for plenty of party food. It is also equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve a gourmet meal. With a large dining room complete with piano, and den off dining area with beautiful stone wall fireplace, the home is perfect for gathering and entertaining.

Enjoy the scenic vistas from any of the 3 decks, dine on the deck over the river, or just savor a cup of coffee in a rocker outside your bedroom. Sit around the fire pit and toast marshmallows and gaze up at the hundreds of stars in a clear night sky. The fireflies in summer light up the mountains and fields like a holiday display! A site to behold.

The large house is set up with 2 separable living quarters. With its 3 bedrooms, separate full kitchen, and living and dining room combination, a small family can have its own private space but be just a door away from the rest of the party. Don’t worry though, this apartment will never be occupied by another party during your stay if you do not. If a smaller rental would suffice inquire about reserving just the 4 bedroom main house for a reduced rate.
