Everything was fine, but it would have been nice to have a cup of coffee available the next morning. Got in late and were a bit surprised that we had to run out and buy coffee as soon as we woke up. A Kurig was available, so having a couple coffee pods and some powdered creamer/sugar available would have been much appreciated.
This property in all of it's historical wonder, was a great place to stay! The owner, Frank was the perfect host. The location was perfection. It's set back from the road but you are only minutes from everything.

Thank you for the sweet review, Laura! We welcome you back anytime!
It was exactly what we anticipated. Sorry for the short duration of the stay , but it fulfilled our needs. Our only problem was getting to the house Saturday night. It was late, and all tired. But we figured it out
Stayed at VRBO in Abingdon for a small VMI Reunion at a Classmate's house. VRBO is sort of old, but very workable and convenient to just about anything needed (Restaurants, groceries, etc). Needed a few things and Owners were right on top of things. Nice stay.

Thank you, Bob! We would love to have y’all back anytime!
Great location in a charming town. Perfect for visiting out of town family members. We even had snow and the Christmas decorations were up. Everything was delightful. We'll be back!
Gorgeous property, beautiful historic home, yet to say centrally located is an understatement. I literally didn’t use my car at all. The hosts were lovely and extremely responsive. Mouse quiet at night. The creeper trail is literally right there :-) I would definitely recommend.
This guest cottage, on the property of a beautiful antebellum home, was perfect for my mother, sister, sister-in-law, and me. It's right across the street from the trailhead of the Virginia Creeper trail, and only 2 blocks from the main street in town. The kitchen was stocked well enough that we cooked several meals there, but we also availed ourselves of some of the nice restaurants in town. Loved it!

We broke up a long drive with an overnight stay here at this quaint guesthouse on historic property. It's very private, quiet and delightfully close to the Virginia Creeper Trail -- just a pleasant stroll away. The owner was accommodating and very quick to respond to questions. We hope to be back!
Lovely cottage in a peaceful location where we saw lots of deer in the yard. We went to the Barter Theater, visited lots of shops, went on the Creeper Trail twice, and hiked to see the ponies in Grayson County. We had a lovely week away.

Thank you so much for the kind words, Virginia! So glad you enjoyed your stay!
Historic guesthouse of an 1827 mansion on 12 beautiful acres of lawns and woods. Completely private, yet centrally located. The wonderful Virginia Creeper Trail begins at the end of the drive, and a grocery store, farmer’s market, Barter Theater, and Main Street shops and restaurants are a short walk away.

We loved staying in Frank's extra home. He share the very interesting history of the property that looks over the town in the winter. Walkable to the Va Creeper and to restaurants. After leaving behind a speaker, the hosts graciously sent it to me. Such a cute town and great hosts!
We used the property as our base camp as I ran the Yeti 100 on the VA Creeper Trail. The house is settled in secluded wooded area yet in the middle of town and right at the end of the trail. There was plenty of space we were able sit and relax after the race. I would gladly stay here again.

Thank you for the kind review, Tim! We'd love to host you and your group again anytime! Take care.
The guest house is indeed “quite modest” as described by the host. However, we knew that it was going to be an old house and were able to make any adjustments necessary. There was only one problem that we had, and that was more on our end, but the host helped us resolve it quickly and successfully. The location is terrific! It was within easy walking distance of not only downtown Abingdon, but also of the Virginia Creeper trail. There was plenty to do in the area and I would highly recommend any show at The Barter Theater, and several local restaurants were quite good. Abingdon Olive Oil Company is also well worth a visit. It was a pleasant stay and we would stay again if we found ourselves going to that area.
Brought a family of 8 to ride The Creeper and enjoy Abingdon. The property was just as described and the check-in/out was easy. Ample room to gather and play games when the weather turned against us and close to enough restaurants to keep us well fed without too much drive time. It was a total pleasure.
My husband and I choose to stay here while visiting the Abingdon area. The house was perfect. Liked that because of the acreage it did not seem like we were in a town. Other than the train, it was very quiet. Rode our bikes to the Creeper trail from the house. Walked into town to get dinner. Easy to get to the other destinations we wanted to visit (e.g. Great Channels, Grayson Highlands State Park). Sweetbay Brewery had very good beer. Owner was very receptive to my inquiries. Would highly recommend staying here.

Loved the location, that it is pet friendly, clean and provided all that is needed for a very comfortable stay. It can be a little tricky to find at first. But once you do, oh my! Private with a big yard for your pooch to run around in and you can walk to popular spots in Abingdon. It has a lot of character and some wear due to its age. I would definitely stay here again.
We had a lovely stay. It was my friend’s birthday, and she wanted to do the trail. I had a little trouble finding the place and told my friends to look for Mont Calm. That tip helped them immensely. The house was a little dark so we spent time on the porch. The surroundings were beautiful. Thank you.

It was a lovely historic bachelor's quarters for a historic home built in 1827 and added on to during the 1930's. There was plenty of room for eight people if needed. It sat on a 12 acre property surrounded by woods so you didn't even feel like you were in the middle of town. My dog was happy sniffing all the rabbit holes and watching the deer that hid in the woods and fed on the lawn.

This home is just as pictured. I love the character of older homes and imagining, how it was lived in. One reviewer complained that it needed a full renovation. NO it doesn't. Perfectly charming! The grounds of the home were so peaceful.
