This re-purposed, reconstructed train freight depot, The South's premiere underground HonkyTonk, lovingly called The Whirlybird, sits on the back side of a 5 acre turn-of-the-century private plantation - Stonewood Plantation. There are two vintage campers and 2 camping cots to add to the bedrooms and sleeping space. We've had up to 8 fun-loving guests at a time. The design and decor of this Honky Tonk have one thing in mind - FUN - in all caps.

It is an authentic honky tonk, where music and dancing happens on special occasions throughout the year; however, it is also being offered as a one-of-a-kind complete, private living/rental space. The honky tonk bedroom (with one double bed and a cot that can be put down for a 3rd person) has a private library, which is full of culturally-oriented books, a desk and chairs, ready for stimulating artistic explorations or simple relaxation. The bedroom and library are whimsical and comfortable. There is a wall of paned windows overlooking a pecan grove. Down the hall and across from the bar there are 2 full baths, and a fully equipped kitchen. Beyond the 20 foot bar is a stage and a dance floor. If that is not enough, there is a 16 X 16 screened porch through an antique roll door so you can enjoy the environs in any season. The Whirlybird honky tonk is over-the-top funky, elegant and spacious - the perfect place for individuals and friends to retreat, and to enjoy and explore South Louisiana.
