About this property
Stunning Old Carthouse with seaview
Summary:
Amazing house with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and great lounge area with stunning views of the South Cornwall Sea and St. Michael's Mount. Great coastal walkways and several beaches near by. Perfect in all seasons for all ages. Sleeps 6/7.
The Space:
You'll feel like you've landed in the most beautiful mirage when you arrive. The house is airy, welcoming and has the most beautiful views - no matter the weather. With an open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge, everything is located on one floor for easy access for all ages (except the coolio single bed on the mezzanine in the second bedroom which is a must for teens!). It's fully equipped and towels and linens are freshly supplied for each guest.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the house and the garden. There are two parking spaces in front of the house. The house is self contained and full of books and brochures to wet the appetite for everything you can do in the local area.
The Neighborhood:
The house is an old barn that sat on the Trebarvah Farm. This is still a working potato and cauliflower farm. There are a few converted cottages near by, but the house is very private. Beaches are a matter of minutes away with a great pub and two cafe's only 5-7 minute walk through the coastal path. The cottage sits on the South Cornwall coastal path, so you'll see not only the dramatic cliffs and ocean, but a host of birds and flora to keep you inspired with nature.
Getting Around:
You will want to have a car. There are so many wonderful sites around, but you'll need a car to reach them. We are at the end of the farm lane, so you'll want your own transport.
Other Things to Note:
There is a organic farm shop near the house and a Tesco, Sainsbury and Morrison Superstores in Penzance, which is 2-3 miles away.
Interaction with Guests:
We won't be there as we live in London. This is our home away from home, but entry is easy through a key lock box. We'll give you the code once your booking is confirmed.

About the host
Hosted by Kathleen Gearhart- Filmer

We are the Filmer family from London and The Old Carthouse is our home away from home. With two children aged 16 and 11, they are literally bursting with excitement every time we head to Perranuthnoe.
Why they chose this property
You only need take one look at this property and the location to absolutely fall in love it. It really offers the best of both worlds, with plenty to do within a few miles of the house and one of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall, it is truly a home for any time of the year.
With Penzance just three miles away, you can easily obtain whatever you need from the huge range of cafes, restaurants and shops. Closer to the house and within a 15 minute walk is an excellent and friendly farm shop that sells a wide range of food, with a very good stock of organic and gluten free options. Then there is the village pub in Perranuthnoe, easily reached from the house on foot and serving some of the best dishes and Cornish beers that you'll ever taste.

What makes this property unique
The house is located at the end of a lane which is a no through road. We have neighbours, but only a few so you can enjoy an extremely quiet and relaxed location without feeling that you are totaly removed from the world. There are numerous paths to walk along that run by the property and you can walk to the village and beach within 15 minutes.
The beach at Perranuthnoe is beautiful and unspoilt. It really is a local hangout that doesn't get taken over by hoards of people. The locals of all ages come to this spot two or three times a day, every day to surf and swim, as the beach is very safe, sandy and easily accessible.
Finally, we must mention the sunset. To sit on the terrace in our garden and watch the sun disappear behind St. Michaels Mount each day is an endless joy.
