About Derek Lamb
Brothers Ron, Brad and Derek Lamb are the homeowners. Their mother, Farel Esplin Lamb Sorensen, lived and labored in the home for many years with Brad and Derek. Ron's family, with sister Sharlene's family, worked alongside in the design, creation, and maintenance of the family gathering spot. Born, raised, and buried in the town, Farel was very proud of the home and kept the corner property very neat and crispy clean. By getting up early and working late, she kept her yard weed free and full of hundreds of flowers.
Derek Lamb purchased this House in 1970
Why Derek Lamb chose Orderville
This property was inherited from our mother's father, Fern Esplin. We then put the home here for our mother which she took great pride in. It has been a place of gathering for our families for many years. Our family has been in the area since the mid 1800's so we have a great heritage here in this area. It has many good memories for us and we enjoy the town and the people, many of whom are part of the same heritage.

Great house, Great place to stay!
This house is full of nostalgia and feels like home. Every necessity and convenience was thought of and provided for. The location is perfect for visiting Zions and Bryce with out being overcrowded. The people are amazing and there is a small grocery store with in walking distance. Will definitely use this place again and again for family getaways!
Family time at Thanksgiving
Had a great time. Close to Zion, which is beautiful. House was like visiting parents in 70's. Had some nostalgia, but well kept. Beds in master bedroom were harder than used to, but that is preference, they did have new appliance, which was nice. House is spacious.
Only Netflix on main TV which was sporadic, but may have been weather. Overall we had fun and a place to come back to to relax.
This was a very clean and maintained house. It is decorated in a retro style. We especially liked the carport since it rained when we were there, and blocked out the sun the rest of the time. The air conditioner did well in cooling the house. The beds had varying firmness. When we had a question after we got there, the caretakers were prompt in responding. We would definitely stay again.
very quiet town
enjoyed the stay. sat on the porch in the morning and saw a very calm quiet town start moving.
Good to have people back in the area who once knew it well!
It was very clean, lots of beds, a throw back to old times. A great way to have our own space near our family’s cabin by Zion. It felt like spending the night at your grandma’s.
Would be nice if directions included street names, also if you’re coming up from the south it’s easier to turn before the sinclair.
This is an extremely well kept home and grounds. The pride of ownership shows in every aspect of this property. The home was spotlessly clean with every amenity to make our stay totally enjoyable. I was amazed at how quiet the neighborhood was. I felt safe and secure and at peace while staying here and was pleasantly surprised when the owner's brother stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed and to chat. Overall it was an excellent rental experience for my wife and I.
