The "cabin" is spacious and well maintained. If you forgot it, it is probably available in the fully stocked kitchen. The owners were very responsive, and every need was addressed promptly. Each room has it's own bathroom and small balcony off the bedroom. All the beds were roomy and comfortable. Cell phone service was pretty bad, and the internet was slow with so many trying to connect devices, but who cares? We didn't miss either.
We are three couples who love to head to the mountains each summer to escape the heat of the Oklahoma Panhandle. This is our fourth trip using Home Away, and one of the most spectacular VRBO's we've stayed at so far. Conveniently located to several areas including South Park in Fair Play, Breckenridge, Cripple Creek and many other tourist locations, and we hit most of them during our short stay. Don't miss Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, not far from Cripple Creek.
We planned to fish in the ponds available on the property, but didn't get around to it. Instead we traveled around the countryside, sightseeing and enjoying the beautiful weather. The ponds were not far from the house, and we saw some pretty large trout leap for their dinner, but even the site of such large trout were not enough to move us to wet a line - we ran out of time.
For those who love wildlife, we saw plenty, including a very large moose, which munched on tree leaves at the bottom of our driveway - yes, we got some great pictures! Also discovered a buck lying in the shade of the trees just beneath the small balcony our first morning there. We are pretty sure he was listening to us get around and make breakfast - and never offered to move, even when we all stood on the balcony to take pictures.
Thanks to Mark and Nancy for sharing your beautiful home.
