Who wouldn’t like a Cherry On Top

House is nice with many extras however the floor needs to be replaced as some raised screws and flipped panels are a safety hazard. The pool requires cleaning, lots of sand.

I wish there were more towels available as each person got only 1 towel which leaves you washing bath towels every day. The floors were all cracked and coming apart which was not disclosed. There isn’t a ton of space in the kitchen either and no ice maker.

We had fun at Cherry on Top. Great location to the beach and nice little pool to play in when we were ready to be closer to our home away from home.

Floors were very bad couldn’t walk on them . Our Dod was scared 😱 to even walk on them . One one the bathrooms sink was clogged. Color scheme throughout the house needs redone.. pool had too much chlorine in it. Over was not very happy with this house I give it 3 rating.

Cherry on Top, There’s Money in the Banana Stand

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 19 stayed at Cherry on Top and There’s Money in the Banana Stand for 4 nights in July. The ability to park under the house was a bonus that allowed us to congregate and grill in a shaded area. We spent about half of the day at the beach and the rest at the Cherry pool. The grandkids loved it! The dryer was out of service at Cherry but we shared the dryer at Banana Stand when needed. The AC worked great in both units, the beds were comfortable, check in and checkout was smooth. This was the best setup we have stayed in at PA so far and Port A Escapes provided great service.

Great for a fun filled family vacation!

Reviewer Comments: People thought we were crazy because we were driving right towards a hurricane when many others were going further inland, but we had been planning this trip for almost a year so we were in it to win it! We looked like the Beverly Hill Billies with an suv and a truck full of 7 kids, five adults, 3 dogs, and a partridge in a pear tree. We were on the ferry when we got the call that there was to be a mandatory evacuation so we would have to cancel our stay and get a refund. We asked if we could at least stay one night since we came all that way and the evacuation order technically wasn’t until the next day, which they agreed. Cut to we finally get to the house and it is everything we had imagined it to be and more! The kids went straight for the pool as we unloaded. Ample rooms and sleep space with four bedrooms, 2 king and two bunk. The kids loved the party room which had two bunks and a sleeper sofa as well as an additional sleeper sofa for the living room. The kitchen was fully equipped with a keurig and a regular coffee pot plus all the other bells and whistles. One of the best parts was the shuffle board which was a huge hit among adults and kiddos alike. Downstairs we had our own private pool that backed up to the fishing pond, one of the main reasons why we picked this particular home. There is a half bath downstairs and a nice kitchenette with a cool little window for easy access. We used the charcoal grill pretty much every night and had basically everything we needed. With all that being said, of course we didn’t want to just stay one night and go home, so I had an idea. What if we went inland for the night to wait out the storm and come back for the rest of our trip, would that be ok? The property management said yes and even gave us an extra day! So that’s what we did and it was so worth it! Only negative was the dryer was out of order but we just hang dried out clothes and it was fine. Overall we would stay again! Great service and gr

This house was VERY clean and we enjoyed our stay. The private pool was awesome because there were lots of jellyfish in the bay. Trip would’ve been a bust without the pool.

The place was spotless and so pretty, the private pool was a great plus for our family of 10, 4 rooms 3 baths upstairs (2 master bedrooms) and the half bathroom next to the pool was very useful. Amazing location near the beach., convenience stores and restaurants. We couldn’t ask for more! Can’t wait to go back!!

Clean, Smart Check-In, Attentive Property Manager

A mix of families and young and middle aged partygoers in this complex which was probably a mile from public beach access. Loved that my big dog could stay with us (although property listing incorrectly said only under 20 lb dogs but that was cleared up before we left). Great size and plenty of kitchen wares. Pick up groceries before you take the ferry across to Port A, so you can spend more time on sandcastles and relaxing at the pool.

Nice pool area with plenty of seating; great place to gather for morning coffee in the shade. Living area nicely furnished and all on one level. Nice location near beach, restaurants and shops. Would stay here again.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was extremely hard to find in the dark when we first arrived. Would recommend additional lighting and providing people with clear instructions on the location. I wasn’t crazy about how close together the homes were but it wasn’t too bad because nobody was in the houses on either side of us. It would have been annoying in the busy season. The house itself was cleaned very well by the cleaning crew though there are some damaged areas that nobody has bothered to fix. The outside was not cleaned at all. My kids and I were hanging out in the rocking chairs on the porch and the porch was covered with cigarette ashes from prior guests. I’m guessing a mixture of cigarette ashes and sand was in the pool as well. It was filthy and upon our arrival on Friday I reached out and asked for it to be cleaned. I was told someone would come out Saturday and when nobody showed up Saturday I sent a follow up text and was completely ignored. I found that to be totally unprofessional and as a result would never rent from this company again.

We love the Ocean Village neighborhood. It's so close to the beach (but golf cart or vehicle are suggested). The house was nicely appointed with everything we needed and the pool was perfect with the bathroom and refrigerator downstairs. It is a little confusing of whose check-in instructions you follow when renting this house but we figured it out. We'd go back!

Highly recommend better lighting for outside. Being by a pond you should expect some bugs - it’s part of it. Home could have been cleaned better. Upon arrival the floor felt very Sandy and dirty. Some of the sheets were stained and or dirty. Overall would recommend. If you have little ones you may want to opt out to a more secluded location. Lots homes close together which is awesome if you music and people talking loud. For the two toddlers we had with us it was hard for them to sleep during day and at night due to how noisy it was and the golf carts blaring music (which we loved as adults). Easy to rent and loved the outdoor area. Thanks and until we meet again Port A stay salty.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our large family has come to Port A for 8 years. 3 of the visits have been in the Ocean Village neighborhood. Cherries on Top has been the worst experience of all our stays. Kitchen was NOT equipped properly. Very few pans, coffee left in coffee pot from previous guests, the house was so hot when we checked in we had to go buy fans for the first night. It took 12 hours to cool off. (Unacceptable when you know guests are arriving.)Dining room chairs were broken down and upholstery coming off. After the first day we saw large roaches at night. Going up the dining room wall and others on the living room rug running under the couch. Very disturbing. An old rusted out grill was not hauled away and left rusted shavings around the pool. Random pieces of debris were all around the pool area and outside kitchen area. An accumulation of old trash was around the outside air conditioning unit and posed such an eye sore. Huge cotton candy type cobwebs were in the corner of the dining room. Our complaints were reported to management. They brought us a toaster and can opener that worked but our other concerns were not addressed.
