Great get away near the lake!
This place is just as wonderful as the pictures indicate. The weather was a bit cold during our stay, so we didn't sit on the back deck or swim in the lake, but we enjoyed walks on the sand and so many wonderful fall colors. The cabin seems to have everything a visitor could want. We had plenty of extra blankets for the cool nights and more than enough dishes to cook a meal . We found the restaurant and tourist information helpful . This place was great for our family of three adults as we visited family in Marquette..
Thank you for your review and happy to hear you enjoyed your stay, with the opportunity to see the vibrant fall colors of October. Walks along the Lake Superior shoreline are a treat at any time of the year. I'm glad you found the cottage to be a comfortable "home base" as you explored the Marquette area and visited your family.
Lake Superior beauty
The cottage is so quaint & cozy & peaceful. We watched every sunrise & most sunsets which were spectacular! What a great way to start the day. The stone path down to the beach was very inviting & the walk on the beach was beautiful & relaxing. We really enjoyed our stay...it was exactly what we were looking for! Thank you sooo very very!
Thank you for your thoughtful comments. Our cottage is definitely the place to "get away from it all." And Lake Superior in all her moods provides a constant renewal of the spirit. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
The cabin was perfect for us and so clean. The location was perfect. We loved being in the woods and next to Lake Superior. We swam everyday! We went to presque isle and the glass bottom shipwreck tour but mostly stayed home and enjoyed the lake and scenery. Thank you for a great vacation.
Thank you for your comments! Our cottage is close enough to Marquette and Munising for activities or dining in town, but yet far enough away to enjoy the privacy of the woods and lake. Perfect time of year for swimming!
Enjoyed our stay
This was perfect for my wife, daughter and me. We enjoyed the home, the beach out our front door and the amazing 🌞 sun rises and 🌞 sunsets.
Thank you, I appreciate your comments. The cottage is comfortable and homey, with the bonus of Lake Superior in your backyard. I hope you were able to check out the cruises and tours out of Munising, and enjoy some of the day hikes and restaurants in the Marquette area.
The Cabin was awesome. Very clean and well maintained. The beach at the cabin is perfect for whatever you want to do, lounge, long walk, rock hunting. Overall an outstanding experience.
Thanks for your comments. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. The cottage is a great place to relax, or a starting point for explorations and activities. Plus, the beach is always at your doorstep!
Woodland hiking and biking trails, North Country National Scenic Trail System (runs from New York to North Dakota), hiking to the many waterfalls in the area (Marquette and Alger counties), visiting lighthouses, the Ore To Shore annual bicycle race - from kids and families to hard core racers.
Plus... Art on the Rocks and the Outback Art Fair, annual jazz and blues fest, Hiawatha Traditional Music concert series, annual U.P. Fall Beer Festival
The Beachcomber's Cottage is close enough to enjoy both Marquette and Munising area events and recreation. And don't forget day trips up to the Copper Country - Keweenaw Peninsula - to learn about the history of copper mining in the Upper Peninsula.
