Great house! Fully stocked with everything you need! Owners have thought of everything!
Beautiful and relaxing
The location is terrific! The house was clean and comfortable. It was easy to communicate with the owners/managers with any questions. We had a great time fishing and crabbing. We will most definitely be back with more family members!!! Loved it!
Great Fishing Getaway!
We had a wonderful time fishing and relaxing at Pelicasa! The barn was such a fun place to hang out. Dixie, our dog, was happy that she was welcome there, too.
Wonderful place to spend time with with family and friends. Beautiful view, comfortable beds.
Wonderful place to spend time connecting with family and friends
Pelicasa is a great place to stay! My husband loved fishing right off the pier behind the home, perfect for fishing at night, too. I loved the fun art, the great cooking areas in the kitchen & barn, the cornhole boards, and the perfect view of sunset from the deck. Hosts were so kind & great in communication. We'll definitely be back!
Our home is located in a small, coastal town called Seadrift located on the northeast shore of San Antonio Bay on the Texas Gulf Coast and is a part of Calhoun County. When traveling via highway, it's about 80 miles up the coast from Corpus Christi and about 155 miles down the coast from Galveston. It's about 150 miles from San Antonio and about 160 miles almost due south from Austin, the Capital of Texas. The area offers opportunities for salt-water fishing, fly-fishing, duck, hog & deer hunting, wind sports, kayaking, power boating. The bay is very navigable with a few wrecks located close to the marina in town and some oyster reefs that are fairly visible. The Guadulupe River empties into San Antonio Bay so there is also opportunity for fresh water fishing just a short distance from the house. For some deepsea fishing, there is easy, quick access to the Gulf of Mexico just down the road in Port O'Connor, Texas. One of the biggest draws to the area is fishing. A number of fishing tournaments take place in the area. In Seadrift: The Seadrift Shrimpfest Fishing Tournament, CLC Fishing Tournament. In Port O'Connor: The Pescado Grande, The Cula Roja, The Lone Star Shoot Out, with probably the most well known being The Poco Bueno Fishing Tournament held annually since 1969. Another event, known as "the world's toughest canoe race", The Texas Water Safari, draws people from all over to Seadrift. The race begins in San Marcos and contestants travel 262 miles down the Guadalupe River to where it empties into San Antonio Bay with the finish line on the Bayfront in Seadrift.

About Denise & Russell Haertl
We live in Austin, Texas where we own & manage a small business and raise our family.

Why Denise & Russell Haertl chose Seadrift
This property means a great deal to us for many reasons. The main reason is this quiet, simple, coastal town is where I grew up and where most of my family still resides. We are excited to stay here as often as we have the chance... It's our home away from home.
What makes this House unique
Whether you're inside the home looking out of the great windows or directly outside, the environment is incredibly peaceful. There is no sound of traffic... only the sounds of wildlife and the breeze rustling the leaves of the old palm tree by the back deck. As the sun moves across the sky, it offers ever-changing lighting background reflected in the bay itself... making it delightful to view whether morning, afternoon or evening. We're particularly happy to watch the pelicans as they soar on the breeze, dive head-first for a tasty fish or simply hang out on our pier. Very often, a small pod of dolphin can be seen swimming by and sometimes they'll stay long enough to round up a meal between the piers... so thrilling! As to the community itself, imagine a place with no traffic nor any traffic lights... yes, unbelievable but, it really does exist. It's the place to get away from it all.
