Come enjoy a getaway cabin on 3 wooded acres in the quiet peaceful Rio Vista Community. Rio Vista provides a private park with swimming, picnic area, restrooms, and boat ramp. We do have two 10ft kayaks that comes with your rental. You can put them in at the community park that is 2 min. away. For larger boats, a public boat ramp is 15 minutes away in Dunnellon. We are located within minutes of KP Hole, restaurants and shopping while a close 5 minutes to the fishing, kayaking and tubing of the Rainbow River. The cabin provides a relaxing atmosphere for a week-end getaway. The cabin décor is a great combination of rustic Old Florida and Bass Pro Shop. We have most of the “bells and whistles” you would expect in a two bedroom, 1.5 bath Florida A-Frame cabin. Flat screen TV, cable and internet, updated kitchen but no dishwasher. The downstairs master bedroom enjoys a king-size bed with a full bath. Upstairs guests enjoy a comfortable double-bed and 1/2 bathroom. There is a double Futon for added sleeping. A wrap around porch provides opportunity for outside enjoyment of the Florida sunshine. There is an outside gas grill for your enjoyment. This is rustic Old Florida. We have a gravel road with lots of trees so we have provided a covered carport for your use. There is wildlife in the area so bring your camera and binoculars.

It was one of the most beautiful weekends I’ve had in a very long time. The cottage was perfect decorations flawless. Having access to two kayaks and a beautiful rainbow River was absolutely amazing we will come back for sure.
My husband and I had a very enjoyable time.
Michelle and Reid
Thank you Michele. Glad you enjoyed your time at the cabin.
Sweet place, quiet and very convenient to the springs.
Perfect cabin close to everything but feel as though you are far away
We rented the cabin over a weekend for some birthday celebrations to enjoy the river and go for a float down the Rainbow River. The location of this cabin is ideal as you have everything you need within minutes but you feel secluded while tucked in the woods. The cabin was clean and had PLENTY of towels, blankets, etc. the cabin also had plenty of flatware, cooking utensils, baking sheets/dishes and bowls/plates/cups/coffee cups/etc. we will most certainly rent this cabin again when we return to the area. THANKS GUY!
Thank you Wade for your nice review. Glad you enjoyed your weekend.
Really nice cabin. Quite area..
Just about everything you need is there.. Just bring food. Loved it
A perfect, private, get-away
My honey and I were in desperate need of some R & R, and didn't have a lot of time. This trip was perfect! A short drive for us, but it seemed like we were in another temperate zone because we live on the coast. So not only did we enjoy the beautiful Rainbow River, we also loved this property with all the big shade trees.
So many wonderful things about the cabin! Nicely decorated but not overly fussy. The bathroom shower head is awesome, and multi-liquid dispenser in shower is a genius idea. Lots of towels and sheets, soft beds. Kitchen was well-stocked and even though for this short visit I didn't really cook, I appreciated the lighter for the citronella candle, bottle opener for beer, and foil to toast some muffins. Loved the cute upstairs bathroom just for me :-). Washer and dryer worked fine, as did the oven, AC, and Wi-Fi.
Leslie quickly handled a miscommunication about the golf cart, and we got to enjoy the wonderful private park, which made this trip totally perfect. Rainbow River is beautiful but crowded on Saturday, so we appreciated the quiet of the private area while we were there and the no-hassle aspect of having Leslie's kayaks to use. We even took a late afternoon swim both days, easy with the hand rails and steps. (Glad I wore my water shoes, as the rocks are slippery.)
Two grocery stores took care of our shopping needs, and Swampy's was the perfect place to gawk at the river while we ate. Guff's Tap and Grill was open late for us and had amazing ribs, steak, and Indian food. I did not make it to the shops in town because Honey was tired and wanted to get home (and because he's, you know, a man and acts like it's the seventh layer of hell when he goes in an antique or craft store), but plan to check out Grumble's Antiques and Garden shop next time we come.
This is a delightful area for a laid-back, restful vacation, but with plenty to do on the Rainbow River. Perfect for us. Oh, the porches! Two levels, nicely furnished, great views. My place to relax with coffee and wine. Hey Leslie, how about a hot tub on the porch? :-)
What I always request from hosts: Unscented laundry and all soaps, natural cleaning products. Because I love Mamma Earth. Thank you!
Thanks Naomi for the nice review. Thought about a hot tub but with the weight of the water not sure the deck would hold it.
