This adorable little gem was re-constructed in 2016 from top to bottom and the location is indeed paradise. Comfy beds, a sleeper sofa if needed and a spacious dining area are yours to enjoy. We provide all linens and plush bath towels - we just ask that you bring your own beach towels. The kitchen comes complete with a refrigerator and stove, pots and pans, dishes and silverware. It sits on a 5 acre parcel with 3 other units (Lem's Paradise, Lem's #2, Million Dollar View Cottage) featuring 335' of frontage on Lake Huron. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a trip with the kids. It also makes a great gathering place for family reunions and if all units are booked, it can sleep a total of 20. There is plenty of parking for boats and recreational vehicles. It sits on a beautifully landscaped 5 acre lawn with lots of room to roam. Swim (yes it has a sandy beach but still has the typical Lake Huron rocks so bring water shoes), nightly campfires on the waterfront, horseshoes in the yard. We see lots of wildlife - deer, fox, coyote and very recently a black bear! The park-like atmosphere will beckon you to enjoy your meals outside on the picnic table. It has a full kitchen and all the necessary supplies but you might want to cook burgers or dogs on the grill just outside your door. It's a quick 5 minutes to Mackinaw City and all it has to offer. Hop on a ferry for a ride to the popular Mackinac Island and take a trip back in time. Enjoy a Starbucks coffee and try the zipline in town. There is plenty of shopping and dining in town or head to Cheboygan - about a 10 minute drive in the opposite direction. Shop or dine at the many options available to you. Rent a boat in Cheboygan and take the Inland Waterway tour through a chain of lakes. Bring your bikes because there is a 60 mile trail across the road from the properties that will take you all the way to Gaylord if you want or a quick 5 mile trip to Mackinaw City. This is a great base camp for all of your Northern Michigan adventures.

Beautiful setting. Felt private even with other units on the property
Very comfortable. Well stocked kitchen, We ate almost all meals there, grilled outside a few times. Bathroom is smallest I’ve seen but not an issue. My husband and son are big and they managed just fine. Very comfortable, clean place. Bring bug spray, mosquitos are really bad and will sneak in at night when you open door, but that’s part of being up north!
Property was beautiful! It was a little wet to walk down to the beach! We enjoyed our bonfire!
We enjoyed our stay! It seems the main bed was comfortable but bunks and sofa couch were a little uncomfortable! Everything was super clean and organized! Up north was beautiful! Walk the trail across the street if you visit! We suggest the Mill Creek Adventure Park and the Lumberjack show up the street! A wonderful weekend! Thankyou!
Thanks for your feedback. We are replacing the mattress on the sleeper sofa with something a bit more comfy. Note also that the bunk beds are really meant for children and we have the standard mattresses for them.
Glad you enjoyed our little piece of heaven!
Perfect Little Get-away
Wonderful small cottage in a great location. The five acres with lake access is great for outdoor activities and the cottage is very well maintained. My wife and I had more than enough room inside the cottage. I could see four with no issues but six may be a bit tight although it does sleep six with the fold out couch. The trail across the road was ideal for long walks and bike trips into town (Five miles). Will definitely consider visiting again.
Great cabin, property and location
The cabin and property are both well maintained. If you have kids and don't want to keep them cooped up in a hotel room, this is a great option. The kitchen was a big benefit as well, allowing for a couple meals from home. The location is great - only 10 minutes from downtown Mackinaw City. The view across the lake is very nice and we twice saw bald eagles fly across as we spent time near the shore. The only downside for us was the road noise, so we kept the AC fan on at night to drown it out.
We loved it!
Little Lem was very comfy. It was great for my husband and I and our two small kids; they loved that they could go wading down in the lake, and I loved the swing overlooking the lake. Beautiful sunsets, lovely property, and well situated- we went to the lumberjack show, Mackinaw Island, Turner Park for great swimming, and even drove a couple of hours to Sleeping Bear Dunes. We enjoyed our vacation and the location of Little Lem. Thank you!
