About Dave & Gina Sorensen
Dave & Gina have lived in the Marquette area for the past 19 years. Dave grew up in the Flint area of Michigan and fell in love with Marquette when he attended NMU for his undergraduate degree. After finishing his Doctor of Pharmacy from Michigan, his dream was to return to the U.P. to live as he fell in love with Lake Superior and all the opportunities to hunt and fish. Gina has lived her entire life in the Upper Peninsula. She attended NMU for her undergraduate and has Master degrees from Central Michigan University and Viterbo University. She now teaches high school English at her alma mater in Negaunee. Dave and Gina owned a camp in the Munising area for 13 years prior to the purchase of this home. The Sorensen's favorite times are spent on the lake.
Dave & Gina Sorensen purchased this House in 2016
Why Dave & Gina Sorensen chose Gwinn
Dave and Gina purchased this lakeside home in July of 2016 because they love spending time near water. Dave and Gina owned a camp in the Munising area for 13 years prior to the purchase of this home, but decided to purchase a place closer to their home because of the age of their children and their busy family life. The house has been newly remodeled and features all the amenities of home with an amazing lake view and sandy beach front. This home is perfect as it has wonderful boating and fishing opportunities too.
What makes this House unique
The Sorensen's favorite activities while staying at their lakeside home is boating with family and friends, fishing, sitting around the fire pit and gazing at the stars and Northern lights, and taking long walks in the woods.

Just what we were looking for
We attend a family reunion every other year in the UP. This time we decided to look for a cabin for a week in the area where we could reconnect with our grown kids and do some day trips in the area before the big reunion. All our kids plus their kids fit comfortably with us in this home on the lake. The sandy bottom, shalllow water lake was perfect for toddlers and babies to enjoy. The paddle boat, canoe and kyak along with the paddle board were a special bonus as well. Even with a group our size, we did not feel like we were on top of each other. Dave and Gina also did a wonderful job at communication.
'Best week ever!'
On our first day at the lake house, after swimming, riding in the pedal boat, playing on the swing set and splashing in the lake, my 3 year old granddaughter exclaimed, "this is the best day ever!" Each day, the rest of the family felt the same way. Our ages ranged from 2 to 71, and everyone loved all of the amenities of the property and the availability of other U.P. attractions close by. The house was clean, had everything we could possibly need, and was very comfortable. We are already planning our return visit next year!
Little piece of heaven
This home was exactly what we were hoping for. From the comfortable beds to the beautiful set sets. At this home you could not help but just relax. We saw an eagle 3 days out of the week, and was catching blue gill right off the dock. Took day trip to Munising to the ship wreck tour which was amazing, and to Marquette for some shopping. Gina and Dave was amazing to work with, and the house had all the furnishings one needs for the week.
We will be back again.
Great little place on a lovely lake!
Nice little layout. The lake is gorgeous! Nice clean sandy area to swim. Loved having the paddle boats, canoe, and paddle board to ride.
We had a wonderful stay with absolute serenity being so close to the beautiful lake.
The home was very clean and well equipped for our stay. The lake offered much recreation for all and we were even able to catch quite a few fish from the dock. Marquette is only a 30 minute drive with access to great mountain biking, hiking, and restaurants/shops. We look forward to returning soon!
Just as gorgeous in person!
Our family of 9 fit comfortably! Plenty of space to move around and enjoy the indoors/outdoors. Our boys definitely enjoyed the canoe and kayak! Absolutely would stay here again!!!
