The Acropolis Koukaki Loft is located at 46 Zacharitsa st. at the picturesque Koukaki area just below the Acropolis. It's the area where I was born and raised and I have seen and lived the changes in Koukaki throughout the years.
Athens' fine museums like the Acropolis Museum, the National Museum of Contemporary Art , the Lalaounis Jewelry Museum can all be reached on foot from the Loft.
The Parthenon, Pnyx, Odeum of Herodes Atticus, Plaka –the village-like and oldest part of Athens-, Monastiraki, Thissio ,Filopappos Hill, are also within a walking distance from the Loft. The area is well connected by metro, trolley buses, buses, tram-which can take you to the lovely Athenian beaches- as well as taxis which can take you everywhere at very affordable prices.
Guests will find a variety of restaurants, bars and shops (supermarkets, pharmacies, ATMs etc) within a 1 min walk from the Loft.
According to VOGUE magazine “…alluring spontaneity is especially felt in Koukaki and Makriyianni, the verdant, pedestrian-friendly adjoining neighborhoods just below the Acropolis. Despite the presence of this visitor-clogged landmark that surreally pops out in the midst of an urban landscape, and several museums, they remain remarkably hushed, inviting wandering and lingering.”
