The location of the apartment is not great but it is not bad. It's close to the market so there's access to lots of restaurants and stores. However, the first floor of the apartment has a restaurant/bar which is next to two other restaurants/bars that open at night. It is very loud at night and you would have to close the windows in order to sleep, and there is no air-conditioning in the apartment. It's a good thing it wasn't too hot when we were there. The property manager warns renters about the noise of climbing up and down the stairs, moving chairs, etc. in the apartment, but outside, it's very loud at night. It's three blocks from the metro uphill and the apartment has a very narrow, steep circular staircase. Not good for the elderly or families with small children and lots of luggage or people with health problems. The apartment has a nice view from where we stayed. The bathroom was not well cleaned when we checked-in and the drain for the shower did not work properly. I think it is a bit overpriced.
Cosy aparment in Paris!
We had a wonderful stay! Family of four; 2 adults and 2 teenagers. Neighborhood is so charming and gives you the true feeling of what life in Paris is like. Great cafes, so much in walking distance. Winding stairs were a fun challenge to come up with our luggage but made for a good laugh. Instructions for apartment were well organized and very helpful.
Thanks for your review and glad to hear you had a wonderful stay! This part of the Latin Quarter is indeed one of the most charming of Paris, and so central.
Hope to host you again!
Colder weather rental
We loved the location of this apartment - it provided us with a real Paris feel - loads of restaurants, cafes and markets.
But - if it is hot out - this is not a great choice. We were there for the heat wave and Paris cooled down at night so we had our windows open (there is no air conditioning). There are multiple cafes and clubs that close at 2 AM in the square and people congregate right outside this building once the clubs close. It is so loud! It goes beyond city noise - we had groups of people breaking into song, clapping, shouting - until 5 AM, which is when the sun rises.
I recommend this location and apartment - but for colder months. The owner has thick velvet lined drapes to cut the noise when the windows are closed - which is great for cooler months.
Rooms with a view
Looking out the living room window, I could see the Notre Dom Tower. The first night, we heard a little music and opened the window to enjoy the charm of serenade with a beautiful view. The apartment is exactly as described. The managers of the apartment are responsive. All the arrangement were smooth. We gave up on the TV- but it didn’t matter at all.Who wants to look at TV when Paris is right outside. I would stay there again. Pack light... the stairs are tricky. The best butter croissants in the city are down the hill, along with a market and a wonderful cheese shop. The metro is right there too. Terrific location! I’d take upper to and from the airport~ much more affordable than a taxi.
Efficient and convenient spot in Latin Quarter
Great location for this 2BR flat in the Latin Quarter.... Two blocks south from the Metro and steps from the Pantheon.... the apartment is very functional and yes, the steps are a bit to navigate but the place works well.... Apartment building seems to be a mix of students and short term rentals but a quiet building.... Street noise is a bit of an issue on the weekend but expected in the student section and not really an issue at all...efficient kitchen, fridge, and dish washer in unit....beds and linens were very comfortable and it worked great for a single dad and his daughters!
We enjoyed our stay here. We were 6 people & it was very cozy! I don't think 6 adults would fit but my 12 year olds were able to fit on the pull out couch. We found the location very convenient. Laundry was different from the US so be warned! The machines are small and the dryers are slow so most people hang dry. This isn't meant to be a criticism, but just a reminder to Americans to adjust your expectation because it is different from what we are used to. It was so nice it was not coin operated but you need to wait your turn with the other tenants. Even with closed windows, there were some nights when it was noisy but I expect that is typical of many apartments (especially with renters). Our family was comfortable and had more room than a hotel. We took a taxi to & from the airport without issue. There are instructions in the room about how to call a taxi. If the weather is nice, you are walking distance to the Louvre. Close to the metro & Notre Dame. Lots of grocery and restaurants nearby. The stairs are very steep as mentioned so keep that in mind if your body isn't good with stairs or carrying a suitcase up several flights.
