Why Jason and Andrea Soldini chose Spring Hill
In 2010, the family went on it's first Nature Coast adventure, tubing on the Ichetucknee River and scalloping in Steinhatchee. What a blast! In subsequent summers, the family explored Crystal River, Suwanee River, Homosassa Springs and finally Weeki Wachee Springs / Hernando Beach. Weeki Wachee was by far the favorite with its natural surroundlings, waterfront location, proximity to the river, gulf attractions, restaurants and shops. They returned the next year to the same vacation rental home. Since the previous years stay, a lot of thought had been given to purchasing a similar property in Weeki Wachee and purchased Mermaid Cove on W. Richard Drive. (VRBO # 747599) After a year of success and a growing family they discovered this property around the corner and fell in love with the location, size and many unique qualities!
What makes this House unique

The gulf coast is only 10 minutes away, town with all the conveniences is only 10 minutes the other direction. Local attractions include kayaking, cycling, boating, fishing, scalloping and exploring. The entire Nature Coast has so many natural beauties to discover. Pirate's Cove sits right on the water. The Living areas and screen porch overlook the water. The dock offers a peaceful and relaxing place to sit. and watch mullet spring out of the water and manatees cruise by. The water is lovely to swim in and the river is a very short paddle away . The river is navigable for small boats such as a pontoon, bowrider or fishing boat and is conveniently close to the gulf. The neighbors are wonderful and the vacationers are friendly. What better location could there be? This is the "Old Florida" that Jason and Andrea grew up in and have now rediscovered! Whether you are planning a cozy getaway or hosting a large group, Pirate's Cove has the place for your next vacation! Downstairs, Mermaid Landing is a 1/1 that can accommodate up to 4 guests! Central location great waterway experience
Cute little space on on the canals connected directly to wiki Wachee river. Manatees cruising by, very pretty. Only bad thing to say was the mattresses were covered with plastic without a mattress cover on top. Made the beds very uncomfortable.
My only complaint is that my stay was too short. The beds were comfy. The place was clean and the outside deck was nice. My teenagers enjoyed our stay. I definitely recommend this place!
Nice fishing/kayaking home
The only recommendation is that the cleaning service would be better.
This home is literally around the corner from the spring. It is a duplex type rental so you are either upstairs or downstairs. It was comfortable and roomy. Had everything we needed to have a great girls weekend!
Beautifully set on the river with opportunities for manatee & flying fish viewing.
We rented the top half (captain’s quarters) and loved the chance to kayak & paddle board daily. The area felt safe and relaxing. We enjoyed the State Park (mermaid show & riverboat cruise) nearby. Spotted two manatees together just looking out the window of the living room so we went on deck & video taped them. The place could use some tlc if you’re picky (some ratty furniture, an impossible pocket door to the bathroom, a duct taped screen door off deck) but we enjoyed charm of the pirate theme!
It was a very relaxing and homey vacation
The Captain's Quarters was a very nice place to get away for a few days. It was easy to get to the river and easy to get to town for groceries or go out to eat. I would stay there again.
