We are responding to the comment posted on Sept 18. We have rented this unit for over 10 years and it has always been rented as a non-smoking unti. It was rented alot this summer, including August, and no one has mentioned any smell of smoke. Ther is abolutely no way this unit has been smoked in "a long time". After we got the complaint we asked the cleaner, our next door neighbor and other guests and they said it did not. We were not able to go check it out ourselves because our daughter had a heart transplant shortly before that. I explained that to the renter but she said she would post the negative comment if we didn't refund most of their money. By the time we were able to respond the negative comment was already posted just two weeks after their stay. Unfortunately the weather that week-end was not good and this may have impacted their stay but something which we are not responsible for.
As for the TV, a cable had unattached from the back. It was hooked up and works fine.
We have had two repeat renters staying since then and they had no complaints. We are very proud of our property and can assure you that you will find it meets, and exceeds, the descriptions on VRBO.
We are happy to have potential guests preview the property at any time. Please call 320-251-5324 or 320-260-0082.
Stayed here for our two-family annual summer vacation and the rental unit itself was very nice and well decorated! Photos don't do it justice as we were all surprised at how lovely the interior was. Cleanliness is very important to me and I only found a few very minor things I easily remedied with a quick vacuum. All the carpet looked almost new. Fit all of us very comfortably (2 sets of parents, grandparent, toddler & older kids)EXTREMELY well stocked and had a beautiful location on lake/and at end of the resort road. Dock slip was directly across the street and perfect for our 17ft small fishing boat. So glad we had brought our bean bag game as we played it a lot on the beautiful lawn. Golf course was decent and we pretty much had it all to ourselves.
We were extremely disappointed and surprised upon arrival that the resort pool was closed and wouldn't re-opened until next year. Also, bonfires have been banned on the rocky shoreline now and sadly the unit did not have outdoor firepit/chiminea either. Those were some of the most important must-have amenities for our group. There's not a decent lake swimming option at the resort either. Really wish the owner would have warned us about things that differed from the rental advertisement before we'd booked. We would have chosen a different resort this time. One other minor note; the king beds are twins pushed together and are very firm, however we didn't mind. Very nice option if you don't care about those missing amenities though.
This is a large, cozy, well maintained townhouse on Mille Lacs. First, the owner was extremely accommadating for our group and we must thank her for that. There are 4 large bedrooms with a total of 3 king and 2 twin beds. The master bedroom has a deck off the back of the house that overlooks the lake. All the furniture is nice and comfortable. There is a large dining room table for 8+ people in addition to the bar stools along the breakfast bar/counter area. The patio had a large charcoal grill and patio furniture. The lakeshore is rocky, so if you are looking for a beach out your back door, this isn't the place for you. The lake is gigantic and can accomodate any watersports that you want to do. Grand Casino Mille Lacs is a short 10-15 minute ride and is a great casino. There are a few bars and restaurants within 5 miles, however our group did not go to them. There are nearby resorts that offer pontoon/jet ski rentals. There is a nice large yard you can use for various games.
The Izatys resort is currently closed (set to reopen Spring 2014), so the clubhouse/pool/hot tub were not available. They are currently remodeling the clubhouse and should be nice next summer. The resort marina and golf course were still available. They golf course was great! It is a very challenging course that winds through the entire resort with a par three directly on the lake that was awesome! The marina was a bit dated with aging docks. The townhouse came with a slip. It was perfect for the two jet skis we brought with us, but wouldn't reccommend the slip for a boat much bigger than 17-20 ft. They offer a sunset cruise and fishing trips on their boat that would be a lot of fun, but we didn't get to it.
We had very little issues with the rental. The geese are a problem around the townhouse and there are droppings all over the place. I would reccommend the owner/resort place coyote decoys to keep the geese away. The other issue was the water quality. I'm not sure if the water softner needs to be maintained or if it is due to the quality of the water (I think it's well water). It had a bit of a smell to it and we choose not to drink it and instead bought gallons of water from the grocery store.
Overall, this was an excellent rental for our large group of 9 people and is exactly as listed. The owner has an on-site presence with a caretaker that is always around and available to assist/answer questions.
Thank you for a great weekend with our friends!
We had a wonderful time staying in this rental unit and in the Mille Lacs area, in general.
• Well equipped kitchen with great cookware and plenty of dishware - only shortcoming was a lack of measuring cups.
• Washer/Dryer was so helpful!
• Marlene, the caretaker that lives next door, was very responsive to every request!
• The lake is footsteps away from the unit... master bedroom had a deck and sliding glass door that was so enjoyable for late night star gazing and listening to the waves crash on the shore while we slept.
• Nightly beach bon fires were the highlight of the trip for our kids.
• Fireplace was wonderful for the cold evenings and rainy days.
• Absolutely awful mattress in the master bedroom... couldn't wait to sleep in our own bed by the end of the week. Not only were the springs bad, but it was two twin beds pushed together. The seam between the beds was uncomfortable as was the shorter length of the twin size for my 5' 9" frame.
• The DVD/VHS player was so outdated that it couldn't play the DVDs we brought... even the really old kid movies... and the WIFI was too slow to stream movies on Netflix.
Overall, it was a fantastic trip and we would love to return if there was a new mattress in the master.
My family and I came up for just a weekend last minute decision and let me 1st say that the pictures provided say nothing about the home. When we opened the door we were amazed at how nicely decorated and clean the home was. Marlene was nice and answered any questions we had (We asked if there was wifi and that was the only question she didn't have an answer to). There are some things that I would change about the property like only having one television which to me to avoid wear on living room furniture I would make the bedrooms that are a great size and well decorated more entertaining. (good thing we brought board games and our WII) The water had a bit of a smell but hey were on the lake right? Overall we had a wonderful time and I would recommend this property and also consider returning.
We just stayed for the weekend and this is a really nice townhome. The bedrooms are large and very comfortable and with 3 bathrooms you don't have to fight for the shower. We brought up a boat and their boat dock is literally right across the driveway, very convienent. Izaty's is a great resort because you have the lake access right out the front door, but also have a pool, hot-tub, tiki bar for those that aren't as "outdoorsy." The weather wan't great on Saturday, but we were still able to find plenty to do. Would definitely rent again!
We had 6 adults and 5 small children stay in this unit for a long weekend. Great experience! This was the third year we have rented a townhouse from VRBO and by far the nicest unit! Bedding and decor was top notch, especially for a rental. Kitchen was well equiped. Furniture was very comfortable. There was not a smoking smell, as noted from a previous comment. The backyard / shoreline is filled with rocks - we spent an afternoon finding 'skippers' and crayfish. We would definetely return to this unit!
