At night you will hear coyotes howl at the moon off in the distance!
This is an actively managed wildlife ranch. We seldom mow the main field that surrounds the skeet range as it abounds in wildflowers and is a sanctuary for horn toads and small ground birds. So bring appropriate footwear and clothing.

Located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country the place is just across the James River from the Nature Conservacy's Eckert Bat Cave. The gate is a waist high rock with a cattle gate painted like a Texas Flag. The gate is locate about 100 feet past the rock corral going away from the river on the south side away from Mason. The property is about 50 minutes outside of Fredricksberg and 20 minutes outside of Mason. Please note that from Mason you have 2 shallow river crossings and some dirt roads. This is an active wildlife ranch and we have game cameras around the property all of them are focused on game feeders. Enjoy your stay on this beautiful property!

Our stay at Bar None Ranch was incredible. This was our second time here and everything about it exceeded expectations. This is the perfect getaway, great for quality family time out in nature. The amenities were wonderful for a home away from home. Best of all, Tim is the best host and a great communicator! Five stars all around
Great place secluded from the busy city. We had a fun weekend fishing the river, using the shotgun range, and catching up with friends. The wood fire grill and pizza oven bring a variety to cooking and allow for many different meals. The house was clean and ready for guest and the layout really just makes you feel more relaxed when you step inside. The Goodnight Loving Vodka was a nice touch too.

Thanks for taking great care of the place. Hope to see you back soon!!
I recently visited Bar None Ranch and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, it felt like a peaceful escape into nature. My family and I loved shooting the guns in the designated area, which was a safe and exciting experience for everyone. We spent warm afternoons swimming in the refreshing swimming hole and hiking the scenic trails that weave through the property. The wildlife was stunning, and simply sitting back to enjoy the tranquil views made the trip feel restorative. The house itself was fantastic—spacious, comfortable, and impeccably clean, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Bar None Ranch is the perfect place to relax, explore, and enjoy quality time with family in a beautiful natural setting. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to visit again!

Look forward to hosting your amazing group again soon!!
Quiet, secluded, but an easy drive to Mason or Fredericksburg. Wildlife to watch at night, swimming hole and river chutes to enjoy in the heat. Plenty of room for a large family or group of friends.
The ranch is such a great off the beaten path location! It was absolutely perfect for our family. We will definitely be back and make this a family tradition. Lots of wildlife and beautiful terrain! Host was beyond kind and welcoming.
Everyone had a great time!!!
There was something for everyone to do, from walks to river, skeet shooting, hunting for arrow heads, playing in river and much more!!
We loved Bar None Ranch for our family gathering of 7. Lots of peace and quite and plenty of things to do. Tim, our host, was very friendly with plenty of suggestions.
If you are looking for a remote, rustic getaway this is for you! The area is beautiful, but quite remote. The house is full of character; it could use some sprucing up: new shower curtains, linens,
etc. great for a guys weekend.

Lorna,
Thanks for you input. All linens and towels are less than a month old so they are brand new and don't know what you were seeing there. The entire interior was painted earlier this year. We have replaced the shower curtain. Thanks
Friends and Family enjoyed the ranch and all it had to offer. Wildlife everywhere and some great catch and release fishing for the kids. Tim was very polite and helpful. It was a great place to celebrate turning half a century.
This is one of our favorite rental homes we have ever stayed at. Not only is the house great, but the property is amazing! There is an activity for everyone. The home is well stocked with just about anything you could need. Thank you Tim for always being an amazing host!
My buddies and I have been staying at this ranch every year for the last 10 years. It’s a great place to hang out and catch up with your buddies. The clay shooting is fantastic and they just installed new throwers. The land is beautiful and we enjoy walking the property. We always enjoy the outdoor fireplace. We’ve already reserved the place for next January 2024.

Awesome Weekend
We went out here for a slew of friends birthdays to get away, and get away we did. The house is super remote and away from everything, so be prepared for that, but that is part of the reason we chose it! The property owners we super attentive and nice, had everything ready to go for us. Skeet range was a real hit for everyone and it wasn't a bad place to go exploring and check out the wildlife. We will definitely be looking to book this place again in the future!

Thanks for being such great guest. We look forward to having you back.
Thanks
This is a great place to escape! Our extended family came for a long weekend. We enjoyed the wrap-around porch to watch people shoot skeet in the distance while the little ones played on the porch. The river was a great place to take an “adventure” to for the littles. It had something for everyone! Tim was very responsive to any question we had. Overall, it was a great experience!

Come back soon and thanks for being such great guest!!!
We had bluebonnets and blue skies for our visit to the bar none! We spent almost all our time outside by the river or on the porch but slept comfortably inside. A really great family time. When we come again we’ll probably bring some bottled water but we did fine with the refrigerator filter water. Lovely time was had by all!

Glad you had a great time and glad you got to see the bluebonnets.
The home is beautiful and in an excellent location to view the wildlife and wildflowers. Plenty of room to relax and enjoy the solitude.
You may want to note that several water crossings are necessary to reach the property and they are subject to flash flooding. (Happened to us twice)
We enjoyed our visit a lot but felt the cabin had a few things missing—-wash rags, a decent skillet and hot pads. Minor things, but important. The guys enjoyed the skeet and target shooting and we had fun exploring the property. Tim was very helpful when our dog went missing. Overall, a great escape!
