Great Beach Rental

Beautiful house within walking distance to the beach. Plenty of space for 3 families and dogs. Great decks, especially the rooftop, that overlooks a very private and quiet lot. And having the pool a short distance was a huge plus, we will definitely be staying here again!

Enjoyable home in nice community

We thought the home was a nice space. Enjoyed all of the decks, light-filled upper level, kitchen and hot tub. Also liked the puzzles, games and bikes…helpful when weather not being very cooperative. It’s situated at the very corner of the community so it has a bit more privacy. Some of the home is a bit outdated and could use repairs…hot tub, dishwasher…but still working. We enjoyed our stay!

Very wet

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was somewhat unhappy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house had a good layout but was dirty, driveway was under water, kids couldn't play basketball, hot tub access was under water. Good distance to the Beach, garbage was full, all 4 cans. No ice maker, and needs some upkeep done.

We had a few problems. This property could be really good, but the sloppiness of the maintenance, it’s overpriced. Spiders, railings held together by zip ties, stains on the middle deck, bag of moldy towels, sheets in the closet. Bolts gone from staircase to uppermost deck, and the 2x2s holding it up are weak and bent.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is one of the older homes in this neighborhood. It is well worn, but sturdy. There is a nice path to the beach, off of the backyard. (About a 10 minute walk). The house is in a back corner location, off of the street and so you have a little more privacy. The crows nest is fun for sunsets but you'll only see a sliver of the ocean from there. The kitchen has everything you'll need. Another plus is this house comes with assorted beach chairs, umbrellas and a beach caddie. It also has several bikes and Corolla has a nice bike path. The furniture in the house is worn but functional. It might be time to do some updates on the yellowed pillows and furniture covers. (And maybe finish the stain work on the deck). No biggie but it would certainly help with the appearance. All and all, there are enough positives that we would stay here again.

Rustic country meets the beach

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Shell seekers is a nice home, which backs into your own little nature preserve. There’s a resident fox, squirrels and lots of birds! It’s a great home for dogs end it has a nice long hidden driveway. Easy walk to the beach, decent outdoor shower, fully equipped kitchen, great screened in porch and I loved The crows nest. The views were fantastic! There were a few maintenance problems but nothing major and my only complaint would be that the house could be cleaner. That does not seem to be a priority for the rental company. But the owners have done a nice job decorating and if you like movies they have a lot to offer as well as the works on their main TV! There is no Foos ball table which is shown in the pictures and listed as entertainment so don’t get your hopes up for that. There is a basketball net with basketballs, A few bikes and some beach chairs and toys. It was quite helpful having the beach chairs and umbrella provided. Lastly, it’s a super easy bike ride and a quick walk to get to Food Lion and Timbuktu!

The hot tub needed a lot of maintenance. The listing stated there were bikes and beach chairs and canopy. Only 2 of the 7 bikes worked most chairs were broken and 1 of the two canopies worked. We needed a shower head repaired. The repair man was prompt and professional. Thanks.

There was a drip from the roof (even without rain) that soaked right in front of the exterior door to the basement which is the main entrance.

Family vacation

Me and my partner stayed here with my mother and 3 teen/adult children. We really enjoyed the house. It was very well stocked with recreation items such as bikes, boogie boards, basketball etc which was a wonderful surprise. The hot tub was very well maintained. We loved the location of the house as it is set back in a corner and gives a lot of privacy from other houses. The walk to the beach was short and convenient. Also loved that the neighborhood was close to shopping and grocery stores. If you are a laid back family who does not need a luxurious house but something that’s very clean and comfortable this will be perfect for you.

Maintenance Issues

There were some obvious maintenance issues when we arrived, but when we called the property manager, the issues were taken care of quickly. Other than that, this property was delightful to stay in, plenty of space for our family, and close to the beach.

Reviewer Comments: So We hadn’t been on vacation due to the pandemic, this was our first vacation in 2 years. The location was great just a couple minute walk away. But had I known the condition of the house I would have passed. The dishwasher comes out of the wall when you open the door- scared me when I opened it it felt like half of it fell out upon opening. The stove top burners work sometimes which is also frustrating as iI was trying to boil water for spaghetti and the burner was not heating up - I had to switch to a different back burner. The oven handle was hanging off of one side. Very disappointed in the first impression and I would’ve wanted to have known about these features. As we spent well over 2k for the week. Hoping this will let other rentals know. These issues should be addressed and the owner needs to fix. Will not be staying here again.

Great for family reunion

Great place given the price point. It’s not luxury but with small kids, we didn’t expect that. Quick walk to the pool and beach, both of which are perfect for the kids. I/we would rent this place again.

Nice location but house was not well cleaned

We loved the location of the house. It did not look as well maintained as shown in the photos for the listing. The whole second floor of the house smelled like urine. The windows were super dirty when we tried to open one to try to get rid of the smell. The sand was everywhere, even on the beds. All the shower liners were moldy. The bath tubs were not properly cleaned and had some random debris/ hair on the walls. When we called Carolina Shores office, they told us there were no cleaners available and the only thing they could for us is to give us a new vacuum cleaner. We will not be coming back…

Exceeded our expectations

This house is even better in person. Easy access to the beach and nice little places to sit outside. Our kids enjoyed endless games in the screened in porch. The only issue was the check-in was a bit late as cleaning was delayed. However, with covid I think cleaning staffed is taxed.

Great place overall

The house met our needs wonderfully. It was close to the beach. Close to shops & restaurants. Rooftop deck has views of the ocean and sunsets with great breezes. Hot tub was delightful. The house is pet friendly. Carolina Shores mgmt was easy to work with. The only downsides were that the house could have been cleaner at check-in. While the beds, bathrooms, and kitchen were great - under beds and couches were not as clean. While the house and mgmt company were overall good, I'd NOT recommend working with VRBO. VRBO made the experience difficult, confusing, and pricier than it needed to be. VRBO customer service was terrible. I would stay at this house again, but I'll never go through VRBO again.

Only a short walk to the beach (you must walk, no beach parking.)

Corolla vacation

The location was wonderful and house had the basics. Unfortunately the house recently came under new ownership was not well-maintained, so I spent a great deal of time managing fixes in the house (ex. no internet, limited access to amenities listed in the description). The rental company was very responsive to these problems.

Great place mins from the beach

We loved our stay! It was perfect or multi generational family. We had plenty of room and tons of private little nooks to hide away in when needed. The kids enjoyed finding the stocked toy bin!
