Welcome to Parrothead Inn by KEES Vacations!

Located just a short stroll from the Atlantic Ocean, Parrothead Inn offers the perfect mix of comfort, convenience, and Outer Banks charm. Whether you're planning to relax by the beach or explore the area's unique landmarks, this home makes a great home base.

This three-level property features four bedrooms and two full bathrooms, comfortably sleeping up to eight guests. The third floor offers one Queen bedroom and one Full bedroom, while the second level includes two additional Queen bedrooms and a queen sleeper sofa. Also on the second level is the heart of the home: a spacious living area with deck access, a large kitchen, and a separate dining area — ideal for gathering, cooking, and relaxing together. A covered carport on the ground level makes unpacking easy.

Off the third-floor bedroom, you'll find an enclosed sunroom with comfortable seating, a dining table, and a bar-height counter overlooking the street — a perfect spot for morning coffee or evening games. Just outside, a large deck invites you to unwind in the fresh coastal air.

After a day at the beach, rinse off in the outdoor shower, throw towels in the in-home washer/dryer, and fire up the charcoal grill for a relaxed cookout. Traveling with little ones? A Pack 'n Play and highchair are included to make your stay even easier.

When you're ready to explore, you'll be close to local favorites like Jockey’s Ridge State Park, Jennette’s Pier, and the historic towns of Manteo and Kill Devil Hills. Public beach access points are also just minutes away.

Great cottage and location

Great cottage and easy walk to the beach! South Nags head location is perfect for those wanting to be slightly away from the crowds, but still have easy access to all the food, shopping and attractions just a bit further north. Would absolutely stay here again!

Family beach trip

Loved having a house to stay in at yhe beach. The only issue we had was no internet for the entire trip. The air conditioning struggled some days and the house hot quiye warm.

Week at Parrothead

The property was as was advertised. The cleaning service was really lacking. Kitchen trash can had old food and coffee grounds on the bottom. Shower inside curtains need to be changed or cleaned. Otherwise the house was great. Great location!

Great house and location

Great house needs some maintenance. The top floor deck is not safe. Many boards are lose and coming up. Housekeeping never picked up two huge bags of linen they left outside. House had everything we needed. Really enjoyed the sun room during our stay. It could use a deep cleaning, updated toaster, and a carpet cleaning. But it’s not like bad that it makes you want to leave. Just a recommendation. Overall our family had an absolute blast and it was the perfect size for us. Maybe a block walk to the beach.

We ultimately had a safe and pleasant experience at Parrot Head Inn, but it was not exactly what we expected. The pictures looked a lot brighter, more spacious, and generally well-appointed than the property actually was. It was a little dingy and disorganized (for example, the various pieces of the Pack-n-Play were not stored clearly together, the broom was stored separately from the dustpan, etc.). Dishes were in the dishwasher when we arrived. We did not receive any clear checkout instructions as to how to “restore” the property for the next guests. I could see this property as the perfect fit for college students or otherwise primarily adult guests but it had some unforeseen safety hazards for our baby and toddler (sharp door stops, steep stairs, beds that did not properly fit their frames and consequently left alarming gaps and jutting metal, etc.). We were able to find temporary workarounds and still enjoy the charming neighborhood and nearby beach (despite the disappointing weather conditions while we were there!).

We had a wonderful family vacay at the Parrothead Inn. The property fit our needs well. There were a few issues mainly involving the cleanliness of the place, but we had pretty much everything we needed to have an awesome stay. The pros: - Close to a public beach with easy walking access, but may be far for an older person- outddoor shower - Stocked with all the appliances and dishes you need to cook for a family - Clean & sealed towels & wash cloths- 3rd story sunroom that you can see the ocean from - Beds were comfortable enough & had good bedding - Plenty of seating/room to hang Cons: - The cleaning job was definitely sub-par. There was a piece of gum on our bedroom wall right next to the bed. There was a random Coors can in the sunroom. All the appliances needed a deep clean before we felt comfortable using them. There was an official Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville Marg machine but it smelled like corn chips so we were afraid to use it. And we did see a few roach-like bugs. It felt like someone came in with a checklist and did not deviate from it, because the bed linens and bathrooms felt pretty clean but other areas felt neglected. It may be a good idea to have a cleaning crew do a deep clean a couple times a year. - The TV did not work in 1 bedroom.- The bedside lamp did not work in another - The trash bins outside were both almost completely full when we arrived so there wasn't enough room for our trashThis place would be awesome with a little TLC.

OBX Short Stay

House was clean and all needs were met. Need to simplify TV remote situation. No TV's worked when we checked in. Only the main one was working when we left (too many remotes with no clear direction as to what they worked on)

The location was great! Upon arriving, we found the outside shower damaged and unusable. The bathroom floor tile was loose and the furniture was outdated and stained.

Perfect spot

This home was so close to the beach without having to pay an arm and a leg. Location was great, away from the busy Hwy 12 traffic but close to the grocery stores, shopping and restaurants. The house was great, had plenty of space for your large group of 11. Only negative, the previous tenants did not roll the trash to the street in time for pick up. And with our trash, the trash was overflowing

Amazing Location

Property is in a perfect location, a 1 minute walk to the quiet beautiful beaches. 2 miles to all the downtown life. More then enough room for all 10 of us. Only negative thing was cleanliness. Other then that it’s perfect!! Would book again!!

Fun and comfortable property - great location

Great location and we really appreciated the open floor plan. This allowed us to all be together and hang out. Excellent top porch area too!

Great Location!

The house was closer to the beach than we originally thought. Just a short walk of a few minutes. My young nieces and pregnant sister had no problem walking from the house to the beach. We had a great time hang-gliding just up the road. We also really enjoyed eating at Fish Heads bar and grill just up the road. We'd definitely go back.

Overall good few issues

The house is cute we had 8 people with plenty of room. We had a couple issues and I discussed in a separate email. You will need to bring extra towels unless you plan on doing laundry. Walk to beach very short and the upstairs sunroom was very nice except we kept finding wasp. Kitchen has everything you need but you will need seasonings to cook with. I assumed it would have some as the last place we stayed wast well stocked. All in all we had a nice time.
