Apartment, 1 Bedroom + 1 Bath + Garden
I am a human rights advocate. I live in San Francisco, California. I have been awarded several prizes for my human rights work. The work I do for human rights is pro-bono. My husband and I travel all over the world. I speak English, Italian, Francais, Espanol and I love hosting people from all over the world in my Casa Spello. I have family in Italy and family in the USA. My husband Dan has a property management company based in San Francisco, but he lets me manage Casa Spello. He is also involved in civil rights causes and served as a volunteer in the Peace Corps in India for two years. Of course when I have serious issues with Casa Spello regarding a frozen pipe or anything to do with the building, I consult with him. But I deal with all the bureaucracy in the Italian government offices. Casa Spello for us is a "labor of love" and a pride of ownership.
Why Owner chose Spello
My husband Dan and I bought this property because we fell in love with its magnificent views and the fact that it was built in hand carved stones from the nearby Subasio Mountains. Spello took us under its spell and in fact this medieval villas has recently been declared by Smarter Travel as one of 11 of the most beautiful secret villages in Italy.
What makes this Apartment unique
The property offers breathtaking sunsets from our windows and sweeping views from our beautiful garden. Sunset watching in our garden enjoying a glass of local wine and an appetizer is a must and this is what our guests love the most. The inside of the units are in hand carved peach color stone which gives the interior a warm glow. This warm soft light creates a very romantic atmosphere.

Excellent apartment in a convenient location.
Well equipped apartment, a few minutes from the centre of this lovely town. Plenty of things to do In the local area, smashing holiday.
Thanks so much for your wonderful review. I play guest in my own property when I come from California - which i where I live most of the time- and I love the proximity of the house to all the wonderful restaurants, wine shops and the boutiques. I love to hop on a train and go to nearby villages and visit antique markets.
Hope you will come to visit us again, Best, Gina Casa Spello manager owner
A beautiful, historic and spacious apartment
We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 night stay at Mark Anthony apartment in May. Spello is a very special town and the apartment is close to everything. Gina, the owner, provided lots of information for our stay, and the "greeter", Nadia, was so helpful and kind. Loved the washing machine! And the layout of the apartment is very comfortable and practical. I had forgotten how "hilly" Spello is and had some issues with my mobility, but as Gina says "the views make up for the climb!" Would highly recommend.
we were delighted to have you stay with us and you are right, how can you see the magnificent views from the village without an easy climb? The part that makes it so easy and fun to walk in spello is the fact that we are so spoiled with wonderful gelato and cappuccino coffee shop which will give us an excuse to stop every couple of blocks and have either an espresso, a cappuccino, a gelato and now guess what? There is new yogurt place near the piazza. Their Pistachio and other flavors are off the charts .!
Hope you will visit us again and recommend us to your friends . Arrivederci.

Charming, comfortable apt.great space & views
We booked for several months (2018 & 2019) in Marc Anthony and were extremely happy with our accomodations. The medieval apt is fully equipped & comfortable. The location to upper active Spello is very close yet still has private gardens with fantastic valley & sunset views. They were accomodating & responsive if we needed anything. Also provided info on places to eat, go & tour. Spello is in central Italy & Umbria. 2 hrs to Rome or Florence, lots of medieval towns for day trips with train station walking distance. Reliable Taxi & car rentals also recommended by Gina. We would definitely stay again.
Thank you so much for your great review. We enjoyed having you stay with us and want to also thank you for your participation of making our garden even more beautiful than it already was.
We hope to have you stay with us again.

An enchanting getaway
This apartment that opens into the charming garden is lovely and very private. It is comfortable, roomy, spotless and beautifully appointed. The town of Spello itself has a great deal to offer and is not overrun by tourists - you can feel like a local! It is big enough to have great amenities but small enough to feel comfortable. Gina's recommendations as to the best butcher, bakery and restaurants were spot on. Do not miss the aqua duct walk especially in the morning, have cappuccino in Collepino then drive (or walk) up Mont Subasio for stunning views. The many wineries in the area are varied but all have welcoming staffs who speak English and are thrilled to talk about their products. There is so much to do in the valley between Spoleto and Perugia and the train service is excellent. I would not hesitate to highly recommend any of the apartments in Casa Spello. Gina and Nadia took excellent care of us and we look forward to returning.
Thank you so much for choosing Casa Spello for your home in Italy.
It was our honor to host you and your friends.
Hope to see you soon,
Lovely spot. Close to all the typical tourist sites but also many hidden gems. Fantastic quaint villages to hike and bike to. Great restaurants in town. Apartment was lovely and well appointed but may be a bit of a challenge if you have mobility issues.
Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure hosting you at our Marc Anthony Unit at Casa Spello. The village of Spello is not appropriate for people in wheel chairs or people with mobility issues, since it is a hilly town.
Compensating for the slight climb we have beautiful views.
Please come to see us again.
