The weekend was lovely. Close 20 min drive to Okemo. A view of the mountain out the livingroom windows. The house was perfect for our large group. The only drawback was we did run out of water, but were clearly warned ahead of time.
Amazing spot on the mountain looking directly at Okemo. What a view. The home fit us all comfortably and we had a great time outside on the grounds too. Spend some time here you will not regret it.
We had a great family long weekend. Photos do not do the house justice. It was comfortable and we were glad to have so much space indoors and out when we had to unexpectedly cancel a ski day due to weather and hunker down. Definitely need 4 wheel drive in winter months as road and driveway are all snow covered.

Overall great property! Close to the mountains (15 min to Okemo.) Ample beds and bedding. Large property for outdoor games and many board games and foosball and table tennis. Roads are a little tricky with winter weather and a few are quite steep! Need to be mindful of water usage as it is sourced from wells and not city water. Clean and warm property!

Thanks Max...glad you all had a good time. and enjoyed our home!
Large house in a rural setting yet relatively close to Okemo ski resort. It had plenty of space for all 10 of us, yet felt very cosy. One of our party is allergic to nuts and seeds and we very much appreciated that our hostess went out of her way to ensure the accommodation was safe for all of us. Several of us enjoyed the games facilities provided as well as being able to explore the local area and wildlife. The house was dressed for Christmas when we arrived which was lovely and we were able to cook a great Christmas dinner. We had a really enjoyable time, thank you!
This property checked all the boxes for our family vacation. There was enough space to accommodate our large family. The open living area made it easy for everyone to be together while still doing separate activities (tv, cooking, games at the table). The large yard allowed us to enjoy the outdoor space and gave us plenty of room to run. The fire pit was well maintained and we spent every night out by it.
The house itself was very clean and well stocked with all the essentials.
The host was very helpful and checked in multiple times to see if we had any questions or if there was anything that we needed!
This was a great house and we hope to return next year.

Thanks Katherine! We are so glad you enjoyed our home and we LOVE repeat rentals! Send photos and I will put you in the scrapbook! :)
We have been taking this trip for 7 years now and by far this was our favorite rental and we WILL be back. Property was awesome, the privacy was great and only 15 minutes to Okemo. The view of Okemo was more than gorgeous. We would watch the groomers on the mountain at night while sitting by the fire pit. Owner was very accommodating and detailed, checking in and out of the property was a breeze. Plenty of room and beds for 3 families. Adults upstairs, kids downstairs, and everyone meet in the middle by the fireplace in the great room. House was well stocked and well kept. Plenty of wood for fire place and fire pit. Was awesome coming back from the slopes lighting the fire pit and watching the kids sledding in the front yard. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Much thanks to the owner and we highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a Vermont getaway
We had 3 families total staying as 6 adults and 6 kids ranging from 1-5 years old. The house was large enough for each family to spread out and have quiet areas for sleeping and nap schedules. Large common area away from bedrooms allowed for great indoor play for the kids. A great deck and yard area allowed for outdoor relaxation. It was great watching the sun set behind the mountains next to the outdoor fire-pit each night. Would rent again in the summer and seems like it would be great in the winter as well.
The place was perfect for our large group, plenty of bedrooms, clean kitchen and ping pong. We highly recommend the place and the owners were kind and responsive.

House was large enough for a group with space to spread out.
House was nice. 4 wheel drive a must in the winter. Well water was a challenge during our stay.. often without water but owner was responsive & tried to deal with it quickly
Beautiful property surrounded by woods, great views. House is gorgeous and well-suited to a group. Common space is very comfortable and cozy sitting in front of fire.
Large, comfortable, clean home with lots of outdoor space and beautiful views. This home was perfect for our family getaway, Joanne was very easy to work with, and we would definitely recommend this house.

Thanks Kelli! Always nice to hear that families enjoyed our home!!
Had a great week out sightseeing shopping swimming kayaking rock jumping. Nice house minus the lack of water as we ran out. Was informed the week of rental that it could be an issue.

We do have to be very careful of water use especially during the summer months. We have two 500' wells which due to their depth hold over 1500 gallons of water, but recovery is very slow. This incident actually developed due to an electrical issue with our well pump.
Our family enjoyed a 5-day stay in July at this property. We had many nearby options for daily outings (e.g. Things To Do list at horseshoeacrescampground.com). In the evenings we enjoyed puzzles, board games, ping-ping tournaments, and TV/gaming. The kitchen was adequately furnished for dining in. Joanne was responsive and helpful when we had questions. Lots of bug spray was needed in the yard near dusk.

About the host
Hosted by Joanne Nault
We built this home with another family in 2001 so that we could get away from busy lifestyles and enjoy our families and each other's famlies, while skiing, sledding or going to Plymouth State Park in the summertime. While our children have grown, we still manage to get together and ski and hang out a few times a year! We hope you create similar wonderful memories at our Love Shack!
Why they chose this property
This property offers a private, rural location with lots of space inside and out. Wonderful spot for extended family get-togethers or reunions of any sort!
