About the host

Originally Sydney siders we moved to Smiths Lake in 2017 after living & working in the Kimberley WA for several years, we were looking for an ocean view.
While we had family living in Taree we had never been to Smiths Lake so it was such an amazing find.
Smiths is a lovely small village with all the amenities needed, we have wonderful neighbours who look out for each other it's a true community.
Villa 38 is our main residence so you are staying in our home not the common holiday house, we stared Airbnbing to create a travel income in our retirement, we love to travel to experience new places to eat & to meet people.

Why they chose this property
It's all about the view across Smiths Lake to Sanbar & the beautiful Pacific Ocean that's why we moved here.
Our huge decks in the tree tops means we get lots of feathered friends visiting, it changes with the seasons & weather, King Parrots, Kookaburras, Rosellas, Lorikeets sometimes swams of Budgerigars, they all come to say hello or is it the native bird seed :)
A walk around Smiths Lakes waters edge or even a paddle across to Sanbar is a wonderful way to while away a morning.
We truly have the best beaches, my favourite is Celitos I love the Rainforest boardwalk out & there's usually noone there outside holiday season, Blueys, Boomerang and Lizzy beach all have there own unique feel & a drive around to Seal Rocks just to see the northern ends rock formations & visit Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse with a picnic lunch where you may spot a whale in season or a seal if your lucky.
Elizabeth (Lizzy) beach is our only patrolled beach with a surf life saving club in attendance, it's a pretty mellow beach so it's very popular for families with younger children.
Blueys is a favourite walking beach it has the most exclusive homes hiding in the sand dunes & surf on the northern end.
Boomerang is the surf beach and where all the surf carnivals happen.
There's also the new Booti walk that takes you over the headland from Lizzy Beach to 7 Mile beach a huge expansive beach that surfers love.
Then there's all the beaches in Foster :)
When I want a coffee I pop up to the Good Food Store, Tilly & partner are top end ex Sydney chefs & everything they make is delicious we're so lucky to have them.
We also have a great baker Andy who has the 'best' cream bun, apple turnover (they only use fresh cream) bread & pies. You may need to reserve your cream bun in advance as they sell out so fast :) particularly when we're in town!

What makes this property unique
Every morning we open the curtains & have coffee in bed looking at this amazing view & we are so thankful.
Our huge decks! We live on the deck most of the year when ever the weather is shining & we can catch the sea breezes.
Breakfast lunch & dinner, reading entertaining all happens on the deck.
In the cooler months we head to the entrance courtyard to bath in the sunshine to BBQ & dine.
Our kitchen with its 3 metre island is the indoor gathering space to cook up a storm while everyone gathers around, ours is a communal home for hanging out together.
