This beautiful newly restored colonial is a quiet oasis near Park Santiago. The wonderful airy rooms open to the garden and patio with artisan furniture and original artwork throughout. The location is perfect, set back from the bustle yet on a quiet street close to a bus going into the center. It is also a ten minute walk to the Grand Plaza and a five minute walk to the English Library. This is a family neighborhood with dancing on Tuesday nights to a Big Band. It is very close to shopping, markets, cafes and restaurants. It is the perfect base to explore Merida and the Yucatan.

Very nice and well appointed.
Benjamin was very accommodating and we loved the fresh flowers. Also the space is very inviting and we enjoyed the patio area. Space was relaxing and well taken care of. We would not hesitate to book again.
This is a well kept, beautiful historical home. The owner Ben met us with the keys, showed us all the details of the house, then left us to enjoy.
The courtyard was our favorite place to relax with its lush foliage, beautiful flowers and the constant breeze. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay.
Oasis in the city!
Casa Santiago is in a great location, close to Parque Santiago, wIth easy access to the main attractions of Merida. From the street the house looks like a typical, weather-worn Mexican house. Do not be deceived. When you enter the home you are welcomed to a grand and airy colonial home with beautiful pasta tile floors and twenty plus foot ceilings. The home is spacious, comfortable, and charming. It is understated. My partner and I spent two weeks at this home and loved every minute. We particularly enjoyed the courtyard and the ability to seamlessly move from indoors to outdoors to take advantage of the cooler mornings and evenings.
Merida is hot...very hot! Each day is like having two days with a break in between. The mornings are fabulous and the evenings refreshing. The middle of the day is brutally hot. The swimming pool at Casa Santiago was a refreshingly pleasant interlude from the heat of the day. We quickly fell into a rhythm where we incorporated this into our daily routine.
I have no hesitation recommending Casa Santiago as a great place to stay. The owner, Benjamin, is very responsive. He was very helpful and easy to work with. It was a particularly nice surprise to find organic coffee beans and fresh pastries awaiting us upon arrival. I highly recommend Casa Santiago as a place to stay and enjoy your time in Merida.
Thank you Kevin, it was great to meet you and your partner. I am very happy that you enjoyed your stay and I hope to see you again in the future.
