Summary:
Meet Here Fishy Fishy - soaring ceilings with an abundance of natural light and stunning Bay canal water views can be found at this modern coastal cottage. The kitchen features an oversized island, quartz countertops, custom cabinetry, and a wine chiller. The open and grand living area features custom beams and shiplap walls. Head outdoors to enjoy the perfect entertaining area with a huge scenic covered deck, atrium like hot tub area and direct waterfront access!

It's easy to stay with us and secure too! Access the home electronically at 4pm on the date of your arrival with your unique lock code that we specifically give only to you via text and email. Your code is live from 4pm on your arrival date until 11am on the date of your departure.

The Neighborhood:
Jamaica Beach is its own community located about 10 minutes from the heart of Galveston and is part of the island’s West End offering restaurants, grocery, and beach-worthy activities. Jamaica Beach has access to the Gulf side as well as the Bay side (house dependent) and also has its own fire and police department plus city park with community public pool.  Jamaica Beach's boat launch is restricted. If you plan on bringing a boat, the closest public launch is at Waterman's off Stewart Road about 3 miles east of Jamaica Beach.

Come visit and enjoy ALL the outdoor adventures you could want! Watch dolphins, fish from the pier (or from one of our canal, bay or beachside rental homes), surf the waves, kayak, beach comb and soak up the sun and sea air. And after a day of activities, stop by one of the nearby popular hangouts - The West End Marina & Restaurants, The Waterman Seafood Grill and/or Cafe Michael Burger for a fun atmosphere to enjoy snacks, cocktails or meal!

Every home is fully and professionally cleaned after each guest stay. In addition, all of our homes feature luxury hotel-quality/high thread count on all sheets, bedding, and bath towels which are replaced upon every turnover including the duvet covers and shams (we've heard not every company does this, and we think that's just gross). We take clean seriously! When you rent a 979 home, you'll also receive the 'comforts of home' guest welcome starter supply of shampoo, shower gel, conditioner, tp and paper towels, dishwasher and clothes washer pods. We want your stay to be as easy as you do, and the 979 Crew aims to deliver on that commitment. We love our island guests!

🐾 PUP-FRIENDLY:
Bring Fido(s)! We welcome your furry friends (aka family members). Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are allowed at this home, subject to approval and a non-refundable pet fee of $100 per dog per stay.

WIFI/TV SERVICE:
Our properties include WIFI/Internet and TV service for your streaming services. Due to our location (Island living is a whole other way of life), service may be unpredictable or spotty, and repair times can be delayed. While we will do everything we can to ensure these items are in good working order before your arrival, please note, these services may not be as consistent as they are in your area. So grab your favorite people, ditch the electronics, and spend the day at our beautiful beaches!

979 VACATION PROPERTY SERVICES:
All 979 rental home follow local and state tax rules. Reservations may be booked up to 365 days in advance. Please send inquiry and details if more than a year out as rates and availability may not be updated. Each reservation includes applicable taxes, a cleaning fee, $1M liability protection and $10K damage insurance - and good news, No Security Deposit Required!

CANCELLATION POLICY:
For any new reservation, you may cancel within 24 hours of booking and receive a full refund. Some exceptions may apply for last-minute reservations.

After that, cancel at least 30 days before your check-in and receive a refund in your original form of payment less the booking fee.

Reservations made on 3rd party channels/OTAs such as Airbnb, VRBO, Booking, Hopper etc may be subject to their terms and conditions which may be different than 979's. Please reference the site where you originally reserved your stay.

COCKROACHES

12 OF US STAYED- GREAT LOCATION ON CANAL & CLOSE TO BEACH- HOUSE WAS GREAT UNTIL WE WENT TO BED THE FIRST NIGHT- DOWNSTAIRS APARMENT INFESTED WITH COCKROACHES THAT CRAWLED ON US WHILE SLEEPING. THEY DROPPED A CAN OF RAID OFF FOR ME TO SPRAY A COUPLE DAYS LATER WHICH THEY HAVE NOW TOLD ME I WAS EXAGGERATING ABOUT THE PROBLEM, MY GRANDKIDS WOULD DISAGREE. WE DID NOT LAST DOWNSTAIRS LONG BECAUSE STORM ALBERTO FLOODED US OUT OF THE DOWNSTAIRS AND LEFT US STRANDED FOR A COUPLE DAYS AT THE HOUSE ON THE UPPER LEVEL- I REALIZE THE STORM IS OUT OF THE OWNERS OR VRBO'S HANDS BUT WHEN I REACH OUT FOR SOME GUIDANCE AS TO WHAT WE NEED TO DO TO PREPARE - OR LEAVE WE HEAR NOTHING, AND A MATTER OF FACT MY MESSAGES KEPT GETTING DELETED- BUT THE OWNER OF THE HOME DID CALL HIS NEIGHBOR TO COME CHECK ON HIS BOAT JUST NOT ON US. THE COMMUNICATION UP UNTIL ALL THIS WAS GREAT BUT ONCE THE COMPLAINT WENT OUT ABOUT TO COCKROACHES IT WENT SILENT. WE RENT THROUGH VRBO 3-4 TIMES A YEAR THIS WAS THE FIRST FOR US THE LACK OF CARING AND CONCERNING WAS A LITTLE ALARMING ESPECIALLY SINCE WE ARE NOT FROM THIS AREA.

Great little oasis!

This property was absolutely perfect for our stay! It’s been updated inside with the cutest decor, beds were comfy, and the kitchen had everything we needed plus some! Only downside was sheers on the windows, so once the sun was up, the rooms were BRIGHT! Property manager was quick to respond with any question. My girls enjoyed the kayaks, my husband loved fishing off the canal, and we all loved the beach & restaurants nearby.
