We had great expectations...

  • 3 of 5

This was a serviceable property in a very good location. However, there were many issues with things not being functional. Very few of the blinds worked - either wouldn't stay down or wouldn't stay up. This included the one in the master bed that went to the porch - it wouldn't stay down. I spend an hour fixing / jury-rigging the important ones to either work or stay in the preferred position. Further, a very important blind in the 2nd bedroom was missing altogether - I ended up after 2 nights rigging a blanket up to cover the window. Also know that the blinds are not room-darkening - much ambient light filters through even when down. Also there is clearly NO insulation between the floor of the unit above and the ceiling of Ski Hill 27. Bring eye shades and ear plugs.

The furniture is oddly-configured - not conducive to watching a family movie after the ski-legs are exhausted. Three-way lamps were installed with one-way bulbs - too cheap for a 3-way bulb? The bedrooms are very dimly-lit. The baseboard in the kitchen had fallen off. I went to use the hand towel in the master bath and the holder came off - someone had clearly just set it loosely on the wall mount knowing it would fall off at next use.

The good stuff: The unit is spacious. The TV is very large and nice. The wifi worked. The beds are very comfortable. Short walk to main street, bus stops and the gondola (although crossing streets to get to gondola requires a bit of Frogger). The kitchen is nice, although appliances are low- to mid-range.

This unit is clearly a rental unit. It is hard to imagine that owners would not fix the relatively cheap-to-resolve issues referenced above if they spent any time here.

Also, ask for specific directions to get to the parking under the correct building. We were provided very little instruction other than 'parking is under the building and the buildings are well-marked'. The reality is it isn't obvious when unfamiliar with the property which is the parking that will be most convenient for bringing the 'much stuff' required for a ski vacation. Luckily I had 11 yo and 14 yo boys available to muscle our stuff from our inconvenient parking location into the unit.

Whether this unit is worth it for you obviously depends on how much you are paying. We paid $500 per night, which may put the above in perspective. At $500 / night there clearly is enough margin to pay for fixing the issues described above.

Very happy with this rental!

  • 5 of 5

The place is well maintained and beautiful. Beds are comfy too. And an amazing fireplace! We especially loved being on the second floor where even with all those windows it was private because you are not facing any other units. Sunrises, sunsets, falling snow, birds and even foxes were seen out those windows during our stay! The blind rollers need new springs so they don't function that well but it didn't affect our stay. We reported this so hopefully they will fix that. If I had to think of something to improve, I would say better lighting for bathrooms and bedrooms, it's kind of dim. Regardless, we would definitely like to stay again!

Great Location for Downtown

  • 4 of 5

Well done on remodel, as others noted a little dark- only issues we had were the shades did not want to wind for us, plus another cozy seat would have been nice. Unit is on second floor, a little work / walk to slope access (bus / gondola lift). We used bus couple of time (stop is very close) and we also walked to Gondola lot- easy going as its down hill, but tougher after a long day of skiing. Unit has good rustic feel to it and had everything we needed to cook with (well stocked kitchen)- I would recommend a broom...(I like to keep it clean....LOL) Overall its a great property, we walked to downtown almost nightly- very close. I certainly would rent this unit again. Thanks for having us!

Awesome property.

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Sky Hill 27. This was one of the best places we have ever rented. The accommodation was very roomy, very well decorated and very well equipped. Just a short walk to Breckinridge shops and restaurants. We stayed in mid-November, which is probably the off season, but nevertheless found the rate quite reasonable for the value provided.

Ideal location to downtown

  • 5 of 5

This condo was great for our family of 3. Could have fit 2-3 more people. Bunk bed in second bedroom. Has free parking and is 2 blocks to downtown shops and restaurants. Parking downtown costs. Also has a hot tub and pool.

Updated and roomy and the perfect location. One block from Main Street shopping, restaurants, and bars. Convenient elevator to covered parking. Kitchen had everything we needed - pots, pans, and utensils. Short walk to the gondola. Highly recommend this condo!
