We were here for 4 nights and enjoyed our time here very much. The host was very helpful and friendly. The cottage itself was very clean and up-to-date and would recommend this place to anyone.

The 1 bedroom cabin was spacious and clean. We were there at the beginning of November when temps were low. The cabin has electric heat and we were very comfortable. WiFi worked well as did the TV, stove and refrigerator and freezer. The views of Gaunt Bay were beautiful.

Very clean and quiet. Only issue was that towrls sheets and cutlery were included and only the bare minimum wetr on site. Perhaps doubling of supplies is a positive suggestion

Great quiet location away from the city. Cute little cottage - enough for a couple. Close to small town of Bala. Only issue was the heat in the living area. Need more heaters and blinds in the living room.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay at Zen's place. It was accurately described and it was minutes from Bala. The place could have been a little cleaner. We had to rewash pans that were in the cupboard as they were still dirty. Also there could be more plates as there was only two large size.

Great cabin in Muskoka

My husband and I stayed at Moon River cottages for 4 days in July. We had a great time and enjoy the lake view! The cottage is the perfect size for two people and dog. You also get access to the wider property including muskoka chairs and fire pit for making campfires. Our only feedback is that BBQs should be replaced as they are old and not useable. But other than that, we would stay again.

House hunting trip

Hubby and I had a short stay to look at homes in the area. Our trip was booked on short notice and the stay did not disappoint. The cottage was well equipped, clean and cozy. Everything we needed for a two night stay including WIFI. Only shortcoming was not being able to watch Netflix, etc without setting up a Roku account which we have no interest in doing. Zan was a great host - very responsive and helpful. We will have a number of return trips in the coming weeks and look forward to coming back to Over The Moon.

Cozy Cottage

The Over the Moon Cottages are an excellent location for convenience of being close to downtown Bala amenities and direct access to the lake across the road. We stayed in Unit #4 which was a one bedroom and more than enough space for the two of us. The only hiccup we experienced was no working wifi on the first day which was resolved by the owner for our second morning. There must have been a pet that stayed prior to us as there was a lot of hair which needed to be swept up. Overall, we would visit again!
