About the host

Hosted by Andrew Weaving

Host profile image
I am an author and dealer of books on mid century design and architecture and I came across this home while researching for locations for previous books. The house was purchased from the original family, so has been saved from alterations and updates that could have been inappropriate and would take away the originality of the house.

Why they chose this property

The area around Lake Hollingsworth is very desirable and the street we are on is just off the Lake, so is quiet and residential. Homes and gardens are well maintained and its great to be able to walk around the lake.

What makes this property unique

The house built in the 1950s, retaining all its original feature is a unique experience. Some things like the sunken baths and lower shower heads, make it unique. Some of the furnishings are original to the house, so this adds to the authenticity of the experience staying there. The pool and deck was a later addition, but designed with the original architect, so it matches the elements of the home.
