The house was immaculate and the host very responsive. The property is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the main tourist traffic and still within 10-15 minutes of Acadia center. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet mornings before starting our day along with ending our day in an absolutely beautiful house.

Bluestone Ridge is a beautiful new home on Mount Desert Island near Bar Harbor perfect for a summer family vacation. We enjoyed the two spacious living areas both with reclining chairs and large TV’s with Sonos sound bars, and each also had a dining table. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, utensils, pots and pans. Two bathrooms featured large walk in showers. The owner communicated extremely well and provided a well written handbook with lots of tips on activities and restaurants in the area. On check in, the home was spotless and stocked with initial paper supplies. Overall we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this property.

Mike and Christine were fabulous hosts! Their home is so thoughtfully decorated and meticulous. The kitchen had anything and everything one would need to cook, with high quality items. Everything was clean, in pristine shape. We felt comfortable from the time we walked through the door. The hosts were also beyond accommodating to all of our needs. The home itself is in a perfect location for anyone looking to hike, fish, kayak. Bar harbor was only 20 mins away too. We can’t wait to return here. Cannot recommend enough!

Gorgeous and well-appointed home. Our family of 6 adults was very comfortable. The kitchen is very well stocked with excellent pots and pans, high-quality knives, and a full selection of cooking utensils. The host was very responsive to all questions, and we would definitely go back. They also have a notebook full of excellent ideas for what to do in Acadia and which restaurants to try, which we took full advantage of.The only small detail one should be aware of is that 3 of the 5 beds were full-size. There were two twin beds too. For people accustomed to sleeping in Queen or King beds, it can be a little hard to adjust to. You also need to bring your own bar/bath soap, which we've never needed to do before. But these are really minor inconveniences given how incredibly beautiful and comfortable we were.

The mattresses in the bedrooms at Bluestone Ridge all measure 60” wide by 80” long which are Queen sized. We look forward to your next stay!

We absolutely loved our stay here! The house is immaculate, beautifully decorated, and so thoughtfully put together. You can really tell how much care and attention to detail went into making this a comfortable and welcoming home. The beautiful wood floors, granite countertops, stone fireplace, and gorgeous wood-beam construction give the house such a warm, cozy, and inviting feel. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, and the location was perfect for exploring Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, and Southwest Harbor, as well as enjoying the wonderful local restaurants.The host also does an amazing job with the instructions. Everything is explained so clearly, from the utilities and appliances to the windows and skylights, door locks, grill, fireplace, and more. It made arriving and settling in so easy, and we never had to wonder how anything worked.Ellsworth is only about a 20-minute drive away and has pretty much anything else you might need, including Walmart, L.L.Bean, Dunkin’, and other restaurants and stores.The only thing we would have asked for is a TV in each bedroom. There is currently a TV in one bedroom, with two additional TVs in the great room and sunroom. Having a TV in each bedroom would be a nice added touch for relaxing at the end of the day.Overall, we truly enjoyed our time here and would happily stay again!

Wonderful property

We took our 2 grown children and their spouses on a family vacation for a week. This house was perfect! It was the perfect place for our group of 6. We would definitely recommend this listing to anyone.

Nice Family Getaway

Beautiful timber framed house in the woods. Well equipped kitchen with two separate family rooms with couches and TV’s. Would have liked bunk beds in separate bedroom rather than in open loft for kids. Owner was very helpful giving house tips and places to visit.

Perfect getaway for our family. The house is beautiful, and we had plenty of room for 3 couples and a teenager. Everything is brand new and clean. Centrally located to enjoy everything Acadia National Park has to offer. We enjoyed cooking and barbequing after daily adventures. Mike was a great host, always available and had many great recommendations that we used to enjoy our stay. We cannot say enough good things about our stay and look forward to coming back soon!

Our family of six (2 grandparents, 2 parents, 2 kids) enjoyed our week's stay in Acadia. Summary of our experience: Pros:- very spacious home with lots of room for family games and meals.- well-equipped kitchen (though only one kitchen towel)- convenient location - a 10-minute walk to Long Pond and an easy drive to Southwest Harbor or Bar Harbor and to many trails and carriage roads.- quiet location - we saw deer and heard owls and other birds.- house was very clean (except the stovetop vent hood, which was greasy).- good, detailed communication from owner about check-in and recommendations for restaurants and attractions.Cons- mice ate some of our fruit/nut mix stored in the pantry - pots and pans hung on hooks from ceiling, making it difficult for anyone shorter than 5'6" to access them.- no basic food supplies (most vacation rentals have oil, vinegar or some spices left by prior guests).- main floor bed is adjustable so the moving parts do squeak a bit .We would not return to this rental. Though we were respectful guests and left the house in very clean condition, the owner claimed that we spilled a white substance, staining the wooden bathroom window sill and charged us for refinishing the sill. He provided photos from pre-visit and post-visit/post-cleaning videos. We couldn’t really discern any significant damage from the photos, and no one remembered spilling any substance. We paid the charge but were left with an unpleasant feeling about the rental.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your time in Acadia and for the review. We have let the cleaner know about the range hood and will leave out an extra kitchen towel for future stays. The house has recently been inspected for rodent entry points. Perhaps someone in your party left a door open or cracked. Regarding the pot rack height, there is a one-foot wooden step in the pantry. Also as mentioned in the welcome email, we recommend that you stop at a local grocery to obtain items that you anticipate needing for your stay, as there are different dietary restrictions, allergies, etc. Regarding the security deposit charge, we rely strictly on clear, time-stamped visual evidence provided by the cleaning company to maintain the quality of our property for all incoming guests. The bathroom windowsill will require repair to restore the finish. We appreciate your stay and wish your family the very best in your future travels.

Lovely place in the woods!

We had an amazing stay here. The property was very cozy and inviting. We were a group that included kids, teens and elderly and there was space for everyone to commune. The house was fully equipped with everything that families would need. It is also near a beautiful lake and within driving distance to Bar Harbor and Acadia. We fully appreciate the thought the owners put into making this property amazing and safe, and also for their timely responses to our queries. Definitely recommend!

The house is absolutely stunning. We all loved it! We saw coyotes, deer and foxes. It was very relaxing and peaceful. There is so much to do in the area. We definitely didn't have enough time to do everything we wanted. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed. The two living rooms were a bonus. Our girls and their boyfriends could hang out in the back one and do their thing; and my husband and I could do our thing in the front one. Coffee on the deck in the morning was wonderful. Listening to nature, enjoying the scenery and loving the wildlife that strolled through the yard. Our only issue were the beds. This is purely personal but for those that have back issues like I do, I was only able to sleep comfortably in the twin beds. The bed in the bedroom downstairs was very noisy. Every time you moved you could hear the frame squeaking. The second bedroom upstairs squeaked on the left side, upper corner. Once my daughter figured it out, she just tried to avoid sleeping in that area. Again, I am sure many, many others won't have these issues. The owner was wonderful and easy to deal with and very responsive. We had a minor issue and he took care of it right away. You will absolutely fall in love with this house! We are hoping to come back here next year.

The mattresses in the upstairs bedrooms are all firm, less than 3 years old, and are identical other than size. First floor mattress is on an adjustable base with a mattress that is compatible. I'll make sure the headboard bolts are waxed and re-tightened, which should alleviate any future squeaks. Looking forward to your next booking!

Best of both worlds

Mount Desert gives you best of both worlds... hike along the mountain tops and cliffs or go boating and enjoy the ocean and this cabin is close to it all! We GREATLY enjoyed our stay. The cabin is VERY clean and spacious... plenty of room for our family to enjoy time with each other or to spread out. Mike was more than accommodating and always available to answer any questions we may have... however very little was needed because he, in detail explains, everything and leaves guided instructions. This cabin is so close to everything while still having plenty of privacy set away from the hustle of it all. We traveled to Bar Harbor, Bass Harbor, and then took a ride to Camden and Rockland. You will be in AWWWWE when you step into this beautiful cabin! We look forward to returning in the future! Thank you Mike for allowing us to rent your beautiful home.
