About this property

A perfectly situated, totally refurbished apartment with full air conditioning. It is on the 2nd floor with no lift, but the staircase is wide and shallow as there are half landings, which make it very easy to negotiate. The apartment has two, equal size, double bedrooms. The apartment has free Wifi, 42" HD TV, Blue Ray player with a large selection of movie discs and cds. Fully equipped American Kitchen with Hob, Microwave Oven, Dish Washer, Washer Dryer, Fridge and small freezer compartment. Oak dining table and seating for 6 people. English owned and it is our second home. Ample storage space for clothing and suitcases. In the bathroom there are his and hers wash hand basins, a shower cubicle, wc and corner bath (Unusual for French apartments). There is also a separate wc, convenient for 2 but essential for 4 guests. The bedrooms are at the rear of the apartment facing a courtyard area which is very quiet so undisturbed sleep with the windows open at night is possible. From one of the lounge windows you can see the entrance to the recently opened Coulee Verte. Place Garibaldi is the center hub for Cafes, transport, both Buses and Tramway to Airport, Station, Monaco and many other places en route. The location has the advantage of being close to the Old Town without the late night noise from partying revelers. If you like fresh seafood then the world famous Cafe de Turin is in the next building, book early to avoid disappointment. The double glazed windows are really efficient in blocking out any noise from outside, so you can enjoy the apartment in total peace and quiet.

An Absolute Gem

Just back from a lovely break at this apartment. The location is perfect. Its 5 mins from Garibaldi le Chateau metro stop, which goes directly to and from the airport so there was no hassle or costs in arranging taxis. There is a supermarket across the road that has any of the essentials you need and there are restaurants and cafés galore on the doorstep. Its a 10/15 minute walk into the centre but there is plenty of public transport that will take you there. The area is very lively at night but the apartment itself is very quiet. The apartment is absolutely great. It's homely and clean with everything you need. Its also well kitted out with lovely towels and crockery. Even the wine glasses are quality. The owner, Brin, couldnt have been more helpful and responds very quickly to any questions. He also provided directions and information about the local area before we went. Their agent Roxana was at the apartment for our arrival and showed us round. Only consideration is that its on the 2nd floor with no lift so its a bit of a challenge with cases. Otherwise it's pretty much perfect for a stay in Nice and lovely to go back home to after a day out.

Great location but a little worn. Needs refreshing,needs new dining & coffee table, chairs and pans.

We've just stayed here with our kids and it was okay. It was very clean though but needs new bits, as above. No lift, so climbing stairs on hot days and with luggage challenging. Supermarket just across the street,which was great and Garibaldi tram just around the corner with port near by too. Can't fault the location, just attention needed to the apartment itself to refresh. We were met by a lady who spoke no English, so she couldn't answer our questions wo

Great apartment in an excellent location

This was a second visit to the apartment in Nice and once again it was a great experience. Brin was available to answer any queries and confirm details before arrival and we had both his contact details and the local contact should we have needed them. The apartment was again clean with all we needed for basic meals (there is a microwave/combi oven but we didn’t use this) and a hob. The wifi and TV all worked perfectly when needed. The location cannot be faulted – it is so easy to get the tram from the airport, with the apartment less than a 5 minute walk from the tram station. On the other tram line, the stop is just as close and gets you to the station in 20 minutes max. Be aware that the ticket inspectors are very active on the trams and even if you have a weekly pass (highly recommend the Pass Sud Azur Explore) you need to tap in before you join or on the tram. The port is a short walk away, and within 2 minutes you can be in the centre of the Old Town. Recommend the Boulangerie Blanc which is less than 5 minute walk down Rue Cassini. Sentimi was also a great find for good Italian food on Place Garibaldi. We would definitely stay again!

Fantastic location, modern and comfortable apartment

The apartment is literally a less than 5 minute walk from the tram station, opposite a supermarket and next to the entrance of various little streets that make up the old town of Nice. It could not be more convenient! It is modern and well equipped. The beach is around a ten minute walk. Great comms from the owner / his agent (who responded almost instantly , in English, to our text from the airport). The living space overlooks the main road , so there a little noise, or atmosphere as we described it - the bedrooms are at the rear and I could hear nothing at all at night (and I am light sleeper). We did not need the AC (to the living space and bedrooms) as it was no more than high 20s in the day but this would be great in summer.

Wonderful base for a NICE vacation!

Stayed here as a couple with two daughters (17 and 20). Location is excellent - walkable to everywhere and easy access to both tram lines when you choose. Handy to shops and restaurants, and to both Vieux Nice and the Promenade des Anglais and the beach. Brin is a welcoming and helpful host - responsive and easy to communicate with. His local property representative is professional and accessible. Amenities in the apartment (diswasher, AC, laundry) make it ideal for the mix of culture and beach fun the Côtes d’Azure offers with legendary sun and heat!! Would stay here again without hesitation; in fact, we are already talking about going back!

Gem In The Old Town

Just returned from wonderful Nice. We stayed for 5 days, family of 4, parents with kids aged 14 and 11. The property is in a perfect location, 1 minute from the tram stop direct from the airport. Straight out the door and you are into the old town with its winding streets with every sort of bar, restaurant, ice cream etc. you could ask for and only 15 minutes from the promenade. Check in was easy with Roxana meeting us at the apartment, correspondence with Brin the owner was great beforehand, the apartment has everything you could ask for. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a base to explore Nice.

Great apartment, excellent location!

Two of us stayed in the apartment for a week at the end of July. From the moment we contacted Brin with some questions, he could not have been more helpful. There was no one coming into the apartment the day that we left, and he kindly allowed us to use the facilities until we had to leave for our flight mid afternoon. We needed both bedrooms which were equally sized with plenty of storage (hanging space and drawers). The open plan living area was perfect for what we needed – we cooked one evening and although you couldn’t easily cook a full roast dinner in the kitchen (why would you want to?!) it is perfect for simple meal prep and has lots of pots, pans and utensils. The air conditioning was amazing in the extreme July heat – it kept the whole apartment cool and in the bedrooms was quiet enough if you wanted it on during the night. The double glazing meant that other than the occasional bell from a tram passing by, you did not hear any noise from outside. As described, there is no lift, but the stairs are wide enough to carry cases up without bother. The location is perfect – you are no more than 10 minutes walk from the port, a bit further to the beach (via the old town) and the fact that you are right by tram stations for both lines is really useful. We got the tram from the airport and it is a 2 minute walk from the Garibaldi/Le Château station. To get to the main train station, the Garibaldi stop is again 2 minutes walk. Place Garibaldi itself is busy enough to have a ‘buzz’ but not as hectic as Place Massena. The Monoprix across the road means you’re not having to carry any shopping a long way, and the restaurants we tried around the square were all good (recommend Le Garibaldi – by the carousel – for both breakfast, dinner and amazing crêpes!). Overall, we were really pleased that we had picked this apartment from the many that are in Nice and will definitely be back!

Charming apartment in ideal location

We absolutely loved it here. From the start Brin and Roxana were a pleasure to deal with and answered all questions promptly and efficiently. We found the apartment itself to be like a home away from home. It was clean and comfortable with everything that we needed. It is located in a traditional building in the historical Place Garibaldi which is full of charm. The restaurants of the old town, tram stops for both lines, Monoprix supermarket, the Marina and Promenade des Anglais are all within walking distance. Plus the big park, Promenade du Paillon is literally just across the road which our kids loved with the fountains and play area. I asked Brin for a recommendation for a quick bite to eat when we arrived and he suggested Pizza Gillou, a takeaway pizza place and I must give them a mention here because their pizzas are honestly the best I've ever tasted! Thanks for the recommendation Brin! If you're going out for a drink in Nice I'd suggest looking out for Happy Hour deals which a lot of the bars do between 5pm and 8pm. The price of a pint can drop by €3. For days out we took the train to nearby Villefranche-sur-mer, beautiful, Monaco, amazing but very busy because of the Grand Prix and in the opposite direction, Antibes where the kids enjoyed the sandy beach. We found the trains to be very good value for money. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would love to return one day!

Good Location in Nice

Another stay in a centrally located department and its location is even better because of the opening of the new tram line to the airport; the tickets are only 1€ per person as opposed to the 6€ for the bus. We had some difficulty reaching the local host to address some issues on our stay which we tried to resolve directly with her, to no avail .. However, we also reached out to the owner, Brin, and although we stayed only a few days, he came back to us towards the end of our trip, listened to our feedback and acknowledged our issues. We were so impressed with how he has gone out of his way to ensure we went away satisfied, something he didn't need to even do. Our reason for marking 5/5, is purely because of him and I've no doubt future stayers will have anything but a 5* stay. Thanks so much for really caring about your customers!

Location, Location, location

This apartment is convenient for just about everything - the tram which is about to be extended to the airport in the next few months, food shopping (Monoprix is directly across the road), and there are buses nearby that go along the coast in both directions including the airport; it is on the edge of the Old Town and convenient for literally hundreds of restaurants and bars. Yet there is no noise and it is easy for us seniors to get a good night's sleep! We were made to feel welcome by Brin who had thoughtfully provided us with a bottle of wine and his representative, Roxana who explained the workings of the heating the other quirks of the apartment - we will seriously consider returning next year.

We would return but..

It is in an ideal location (very handy for the supermarket) and very quiet in spite of it being centrally located. But it does have one or two idiosyncratic features, the height of the toilets being the main one; they are very high even for an adult and might cause a problem for children. There is no central heating and after asking if there was any heating, portable fan heaters were conjured from the bottom of a wardrobe. The shower is tricky; there is no thermostatic control so it is easy to scald oneself and the glass screen does little to control the water from flooding the bathroom floor. There are no ceiling lights in the bedrooms; the bedside lamps are not controlled by the switch on the wall near the door so one has to shuffle down the side of the bed to switch on a light. The beds were comfortable. The front door of the apartment was difficult to close and lock; we did notice that the top hinge was badly bent when viewed from inside the flat. The living room was nice and light with comfortable seating. Also, there was an ample supply of pots and pans, toilet rolls, soap and cleaning materials. The whole apartment was clean on our arrival and there were plenty of bath towels. There is a flat screen wall-mounted TV with hundreds of channels but only one is in English and we were unable to find it. However, this is one of the better apartments we have stayed in, in Nice and we would certainly return!

Super apartment....great location!

We enjoyed our stay at this apartment. It is accurately described and photographed - clean, well equipped and in a great location. It is close to all amenities with easy transport links. Place Garibaldi is a bustling part of of Nice but the apartment is quiet and peaceful in a traditional French building. It is nicely furnished and the beds were super comfortable! Great communication with the owner Brin. A nice touch is that there is a small supply of condiments, tea and coffee which is great when you are flying in on a short break. A small point but just makes life easier. We would highly recommend this apartment and would stay there again.

Great location and apartment

Lovely apartment with a great location for walking to old and new town. Easy access to trams and train station for journeys to Monaco, Antibes and Cannes which only took 20-25 mins to all 3 places and well worth doing. The apartment was very clean and bright with all amenities needed. The only problem we had was that the air conditioning was not working properly and as we had to open windows at night to let some fresh air in it became very noisy. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

Great location, great apartment

My partner and I stayed in the apartment when we went for a long weekend in Nice. We ended up very pleased we stayed there. First thing to say is that the location is excellent. Right in the old town and a short walk from a lot of the main locations. It was extremely easy to get to on public transport from the airport. There a a lot of amenities around such as a supermarket, bars and restaurants. The apartment itself is good. Two bedrooms the same size which are at the back of the property so very quiet. There is also lots of storage and air conditioning throughout. the kitchen/living area is small but fine. There is also a TV with English language DVDs. Given that it rained most of our trip we found the amenities extremely useful. We were very pleased with the apartment and would seriously consider staying there again next time we went to Nice. It's perfect for a couple, 4 adults or a small family.

Beautiful apartment in the Old Town of Nice centrally located to all amenities

Fabulous apartment centrally located to all amenities - less than 10 minutes walk to the beach through cobbled streets filled with lovely restaurants and shops. The apartment itself was very comfortable - lovely comfy sofa and beds; bathroom was very impressive - everything you want in the apartment with supermarket across the road and bakery around the corner to get your fresh croissants and pastries for breakfast! We loved this place and will definitely be back.

This apartment was everything it said it would be. The level of decoration and equipment was perfect, the location as stated very close to Place Garibaldi and easy access to old Nice town. Roxana was very patient with us as we were delayed on our flight and late getting to the apartment not helped by no direct airport bus transfer at the moment. We loved it and would recommend it and will be back, thank you Brin!

A very nice apartment in an excellent location.

A very pleasant apartment in a perfect location for the old town and central Nice. There's work going on for the new tram line but confined to the far quarter of the square and doesn't intrude in terms of noise. Café de la Place has happy hour from 6-8pm to compensate. Spacious living area, good sized bedrooms and a very smart bathroom. The property was clean and well maintained, and Roxana the manager welcomed us and showed us around. The owner's description is absolutely accurate and we will be looking to stay here again. One minor annoyance - air conditioning is controlled by motion detectors. Fine for the living room but no use for the bedrooms unless you move around a lot! Didn't affect us too much as the weather was pleasantly warm but could be a problem on warm humid nights. Thanks Brindsley and Roxana for a great stay.

Everything we needed was provided

The apartment has a great location - supermarket across the street, beach and central market ca 15min to walk, Lafayette ca 5 min to walk. On the first floor is a sea-food restaurant with take-away possibility. The apartment is not so big, but has a very good layout with 2 small private bedrooms and big enough dining and TV area where you can spend time together. We were total 3 people, so for us it was perfect (4 would have been also fine).

Pleasant Stay in Nice

We enjoyed our stay. A couple of issues with the TV and DVD player but the host made good by obtaining a subscription to Netflix which we enjoyed. He also threw in a free mid-stay apartment cleaning. Overall, no complaints and we would definitely consider staying there again if we return to Nice.

Retired ex builder, absolutely love the South of France, Nice especially. So many excellent restaurants and a lovely place to explore especially the Old Town and the surrounding villages. So close to the mountains for winter skiing and plenty to see and do in the town itself. It took me a long time to find my apartment and it was worth the wait. I bought two 1 bed places and created a one 2 Bed apartment. As it was refurbished by a Marchand du Bien French builder the quality was assured and I had a lot of my own designs incorporated in the rebuild. The location was paramount as I wanted peace and quiet to sleep at night but be close enough to the action when I wanted it. Place Garibaldi is the center hub for tram and bus transport for the Airport, Railway Station, Cannes and Monaco.
Belle, as we call it, ticked all the boxes and the name suits the apartment, Beautiful.

Why they chose this property

Is perfectly located on the edge of the Old Town away from the noisy late night street revelers but close enough to enjoy and explore the narrow streets with many shops and restaurants. It is only paces from Place Garibaldi which, in my opinion is the coolest square in Nice.

What makes this property unique

The apartment is dual aspect so the bedrooms are at the rear of the apartment facing a private courtyard, so it is very quiet at night and possible to sleep undisturbed with the windows open. The bathroom, as well as a separate shower, has a corner bath, quite unique for french apartments.
