This charming cabin, 'Deer Run,' is situated on a beautiful, private setting, surrounded by Hemlocks, Mountain Laurel, Rhododendron, and Holly Trees at 3,000 feet on the top of Black Knob Mountain. Located in Pisgah Forest Estates, the cabin is in a private neighborhood, secluded from the main house where the owners live.

It has one bedroom with a queen size bed, a spacious loft with twin beds, two full baths, a great room with a cathedral ceiling and stone fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, sunroom, covered back porch, and a stack washer and dryer. The cabin has two TV's one with a built-in DVD player, and WiFi. There is a Tesla Charger available on the property upon request.

You will love this location. It is so close to spectacular waterfalls and hiking trails. Written in Bike Magazine, Brevard is home to some of the best bike riding in the country. Also close is Brevard Music Center, renowned nationwide for its summer musical presentations. The Flat Rock Theatre only 16 miles from our cabin provides an incredible array of plays, musicals, and concerts. If you just want to stay on top of the mountain, there are miles of scenic trails you can explore.

Sisters birthday getaway

We loved this cabin last year and stayed again this February for our sisters' birthday getaway. Sandra is most accommodating and goes beyond the call of duty to make us comfortable and provide for our wants and needs. Though it rained the whole time, we kept a nice fire going in the fireplace and enjoyed just being together. The cabin is neat and clean, and we had everything we needed. The location is away from the beaten path, but that is exactly what we wanted. Thank you, Sandra!

Beautiful location

Spent the weekend with family. The cabin has everything you need for a cozy weekend. And if you are looking for adventure it is a short ride to DuPont Forest for great hiking and Brevard for great restaurants and shopping. Host very helpful even delivered wood in the snowy slush.

Mountain Top Cabin

It was awesome. Host was great and house was perfect for our family of 4 and the pup. Everything we needed was there and place was so cozy. Will be back another time for sure.

Cozy yet confusing.

With the lack of communication from the host, we had a tough time figuring out how to get to the cabin. About 4 hours into our 7 hour drive, the host called and gave us the information. As we arrived, we expected 13 acres. It was about a 13 second trail to the hosts house in the back yard. There was no water fall or Forrest without driving. Wasn’t much to explore. The host tried to accuse me of breaking her washer on our first day there. I thought it was strange but we enjoyed our trip regardless. The host states she likes to greet her guests and provide information, we didn’t see her one time. Otherwise, a cozy and secluded stay. Bring your own seasonings if you plan on cooking.

Quiet, clean and pups welcome.

We enjoyed a quiet few days tucked away in the mountains. The owner provided excellent communication regarding the status of the area, post Hurricane Helene. The cabin was cozy and clean.

Blissful Breath of Fresh Air

My husband and I just wanted a place to relax and be still. Deer Run cabin is that place! The cabin is tastefully and beautifully decorated. It is well stocked with everything needed. Loved it and will definitely go back.

Top of the mountain

The place was breathtaking, fresh flowers on the dining room table, beautiful inside and out. So quiet, you see deer when you’re walking. We were so pleased, just can’t say enough about the place or the hosts

Loved it !

We enjoyed our stay and only wished we would have had more time there before heading to Kentucky. What a beautiful home with an awesome front and back porch to relax on morning and evening. Hope to go back soon!!

Lovely cottage in the woods

This cute 2 story cabin with a fireplace is exactly as pictured and described. The location is great for trips to DuPont park, Pisgah park and Brevard town. Very private with no neighbors near which is nice if you have pets. Would stay here again.

Wonderful stay in Pisgah Forest

We enjoyed every minute of our 2 week stay at Sandra’s cabin. The cabin is full of interesting decor, was well stocked, and located in such a serene, beautiful setting. We had hummingbirds and lots of songbirds to appreciate from the back porch. We were sad to leave!

Clean and cozy cabin

The cabin lies in a beautiful forest near Brevard NC. We felt immediately comfortable. Sandra was very nice and helpful. Close to hiking and scenic views. Our pup loved it too.

Peaceful retreat

This was a great getaway to disconnect from city life. My husband and I enjoyed sitting on the back porch on the rocking chairs. We loved how private we felt, yet there were houses nearby. You had to travel a bit to get anywhere, but we didnt mind that at all.

Peaceful Nature Escape

A much needed get away. Such a beautiful place surrounded by nature. No noise just God’s peace and nature. Cabin has everything you will need. Clean and tastefully decorated. You will not want to leave if you like the mountains and nature. Sandra is so nice. She will accommodate you anyway possible. A special lady and has 2 gorgeous golden retriever’s . A package friendship . This place has it all if you want to escape the rat race and just relax with peace ,quiet, beauty and nature. I already miss all the trees,trails and walks with my hubby and fur babies and the comfortable temperature!! Can’t wait to go back.

Natural Setting, Peace and Quiet

Amazing stay

Great vacation in an outstanding, beautiful house in the middle of the forest, furnished and equipped perfectly. We enjoyed the silence as well as the wildlife around. Sandra was always helpful and it was pleasant talking to her. We would like to come again.

Thirteen years ago we bought 13 acres of land to build a cabin to vacation in with plans to later build a small retirement home and use the cabin as quest quarters. When we ended up building a larger house than planned, we decided to rent out the cabin.

Don is a retired Cardiologist, and Sandra is a retired teacher. We have hiked this area for over 30 years and knew that we would want to spend the rest of our lives here.

While we genuinely love hiking, Don is passionate about taking pictures of wild flower and nature, and Sandra is very active at Brevard Health & Racquet Club.

It’s great being able to walk out our door with our dogs to so many beautiful trails. There is so much wild life to discover.
