I am sorry about that Donna. It was just a matter of turning up the air conditioner, and letting it do it's job of cooling down the cottage when you first arrived. It is strange though that my cleaner was there that morning before you arrived and did not detect any unpleasant smell. I guess it's just the extreme heat this summer. Deborah So glad you enjoyed your stay at the beach cottage! As for the ancient TV in the living room- it receives everything that the new models receive. And the reason it has not been replaced is that people break in and steal the lightweight TV's during the off season. Twice the lightweight TV in the bedroom has been stolen, but they don't bother the "big" boy in the living room cabinet. The washer/dryer is a tiny and very expensive unit. I used to include it as part of the rental, but people miss used it and I had to replace it twice in less than 5 years, at a cost of roughly $2000 each time, so I had to remove it from the rental program. People want to put thir sandy swim suits in the unit and it tears the unit up, so the very nice laundromat at the end of the street is a nice alternative. Tihere are also a number of hooks on the outside of the cottage near the exterior shower, so folks can rinse their suits and hang them outside with their towels to dry. Hello Brandon I am glad you had a good time at the beach! Yes, the Bar across the street can be a delight or no so delightful on Karoke night, depending on the quality of the singers.....but they all seem to have a good time. The fountain can definitely be turned off, next time just call me for instructions. It runs when the pool pump is running, but it can be turned completely off. Most of our guests want it on all the time, so just call me. All of our lights can be turned off with switches and we have blinds to close off the other lights in the neighborhood.
