Le Heron est un magnifique chalet cÎtier de plage chic récemment rénové avec un décor confortable et sophistiqué. Tous nos chalets sont fraßchement peints et ont de nouveaux planchers de tuiles de planches, et disposent de tous les nouveaux meubles pour rendre votre séjour parfait. Entrez dans le chalet à travers votre véranda privée et ressentez l'espace ouvert de la salle à manger et du salon. Heron possÚde une cuisine entiÚrement équipée avec un lave-vaisselle. Tous nos chalets ont des touches réfléchies et uniques partout, de l'éclairage à l'art cÎtier sur les murs. C'est un grand chalet pour découvrir le charme du "vieux Sanibel". La plage est à quelques pas sans avoir à traverser de rues. Découvrez des couchers de soleil comme jamais auparavant et explorez les plus beaux coquillages du monde! Assurez-vous de consulter le tableau des marées basses pour connaßtre les meilleurs moments pour les bombardements. Nous avons hùte de vous voir bientÎt!

Very responsive host. The cottage was roomy and comfortable and had everything you needed to cook. The bikes were nice and an added bonus. Beach was a couple of hundred yards. Nice neighborhood. We would stay here again.

Perfect Getaway

This cottage was clean, convenient and comfortable for all of us! We loved being able to walk to the beach without driving and we also enjoyed the grill!

Only downside, having to get to the other bedroom through the first bedroom or going outside to enter second bedroom. King bed was not comfortable. Too hard for me and had a hump in the middle. Okay if you like a firm mattress.

Great location in Sanibel

Very clean, nicely decorated, roomy, comfortable bed and pillows, basic necessities, beach towels, beach chairs and collapsible beach wagon. Great location to Bowman’s Beach and the best shelling beaches. Would stay with them again.

The house was very clean and almost perfect for our needs. The beds were comfortable and the showers were good. There is a beautiful private beach included just a short walk away and all of the beach paraphernalia that you could need. There were a few idiosyncrasies to this house. The biggest is the bedroom situation. For the second bedroom you must go through the first bedroom or go outside. It is definitely inconvenient. Extending the lanai to the outside door would make this so much better.The second is the laundry situation. There are two washers and dryers which is great, but they only take quarters - there is no app to pay online like we have used at other places where they charge for laundry. The washer takes 3.00 and the dryer takes 2.00 all in quarters. There was no mention of this in any of the communication, so we had to wait until the next morning to go to the bank and get quarters.Third and the biggest reason I only gave four stars is the toilet paper situation. The communication did say to bring extra toilet paper because only one roll would be provided in each bathroom. We were only staying two nights so we figured we would be fine. However, there were only partial rolls in the bathrooms so we had to make a second trip to the grocery store for more toilet paper. Toilet paper is a cheap and easy amenity.With all of that, we would still gladly stay here again. We would just be more prepared and hope the hosts will add some of these items to their messaging.

A Diamond in the rough! A++++++++

The location is private, on a residential street. With only four cottages, this is a perfect spot for a family, girls weekend or couples retreat. I can't say enough about this place! It was very clean! I have stayed at many VRBO's and this one was the cleanest by far! It had every single amenity that you could possibly need: Gas and Charcoal grills, chairs to sit out front with your morning coffee, shelling station, free bikes to enjoy the endless nature trails or to the local grocery store. The beds, sheets, and pillows were all very comfortable. The trip to the beach? Towels, umbrellas, chairs AND for the extra bonus, they have wagons to use to haul your stuff. They have private beach parking with a parking pass if you chose to not walk the 5 minute walk to the beach. The beach is very private with very few beach goers. My guess is the cottage is nestled within private homes and there did not appear to be any resorts. If you are looking for something more private and away from the hustle and bustle of resort life, this is it! I will be back again and again. This place will NOT disappoint!

To many things were wrong.

At first glance the property seemed good, then one thing after another went wrong. All the dishes and silverware were put away dirty. The oven didn’t work. A/c wasn’t cooling well. One in the bedroom would shut off randomly. No hot water in the second bathroom and ants in the first bathroom. I called the emergency line for the property manager and was told they would call for someone to come and fix the air, no one came the first night and I had to call again the next day for help. They sent maintenance and said the problem was resolved but it wasn’t. All in all a very disappointing stay.

Not able to go due to hurricane and property damage.. no refund or credit!

We were unable to use our rental because it suffered damage from the most recent hurricane. I reached out to the host, Breakaway Vacation properties, not to request a refund, but to ask for a credit to use at the same property once it was repaired: I was told that the rental company does not issue any credit based on the contract. We are now out over 1000.00 We were unable to take our vacation , and lost a lot of money. I understand that Sanibel island was devastated by the storm.. I was not expecting g s refund.. just little curtesy . I will book at hotels from now on where I k ow a refund is guaranteed due to severe weather events. I will never book through VRBO again .

Great property!

I love this cottage! Clean and plenty of room for 8 of us! there is onsite coin op laundry that was clean. A nice shell washing station is on site. there are plenty of bicycles for available for use as well as shelling equipment. The beach is just 3 min bike ride away. The neighborhood is quite and very clean. This is our second stay at this location and would love to stay there again!

Fantastic!! Highly Recommend!

We absolutely loved this cottage. It was super cute, and very charming. We especially loved the location, and the beach parking/access tag! Would definitely stay here again, and would highly recommend. My kids (2 & 4) loved chasing all of the lizards and we loved that it was not right on the street so they could play!

Great little cottage

Enjoyed our stay in 1 Heron. Quiet, clean cottage only about 1/4 mile walk or bike ride to the beach. Enjoyed using the bikes to do some geocaching and exploring the island. Only a couple of miles from the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge. Enjoyed a drive through and also rode our bikes there. Also recommend the evening cruise with Tarpon Bay Explorers. And give Captain Andy a call to set up a private fishing charter!

Nice for an evening

A nice place for one evening. We weren’t there long enough to explore but after checking out we visited J.N. Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge and enjoyed that, the walk and the drive. The second bedroom is only accessible inside through the master bedroom which wasn’t clear in the listing although it does have an outside door.

Periwinkle Heron

The property is further from town so it’s great for a peaceful getaway with an easy 1 block walk to a gorgeous beach. The kids enjoyed pelican and dolphin watching. And it’s a perfect spot for biking into Ding Darling!

Nice place

Despite terrible communication across multiple platforms before booking, we booked anyway. And even though the communication was still mostly poor during the stay, we had a great time!! I would definitely book again. Normally first thing I do at a hotel is read the info binder, and I neglected to do that here, which would have solved several of my issues the first few days. :) So I would highly recommend reading the book, and highly recommend booking this place. Keep in mind it is not a short walk to the beach, it's long and hot and the wagon we used was veeeeery difficult to pull. The next beach trip we used the bikes which was better. But the umbrella for the unit was missing the part that sticks in the ground. Someone in another review complained about the sink being too small but it was fine for us and no other complaints!!! The unit was perfect and we were happy.
