Fun place to stay

The size of the house was perfect for 6 of us with beds to spare. Great cove location for kids swimming and paddle boarding/kayaking. All the extra games and activities kept us busy at night along with the great fire pit. Check-in/out was super easy thanks to the great host!

Great property on the water.

Stunning DYI design. Many newer upgrades. Walk to the water is on new concrete, but would have been better as steps- very steep hill (elderly folks should use caution on that one). House is clean and well appointed- rear deck could use a good cleaning and new outdoor furniture.

This Place Is Amazing!

I can't say enough good things about this property! Not only is it decorated so cute but the owners have it stocked with EVERYTHING you could possibly need from the kitchen to the outdoor water toys! The bedrooms all had nice bedding and each bedroom had dressers and closets with plenty of space to unpack your things. They also had extra blankets and a few pillows in each closet. The owners also provide nice bath towels along with some towels to use at the lake. If you have a larger group pack a few of your own beach towels. The washer and dryer - ALL of the appliances are newer and very nice! Actually everything in the house is all newer! The driveway is a little tricky but we arrived in 4 cars/trucks and had plenty of room to park. The way the house sits made unloading everything a breeze! The pictures of the outdoor area doesn't do this place justice! There are two deck areas on the back of the house with plenty of patio furniture for everyone. There is also plenty of patio furniture for everyone at the veranda by the water. Even in almost 95 degree temps we stayed comfortable on the veranda with the two ceiling fans and the comfortable cushioned patio furniture. Our kids wore themselves out everyday using the paddle boat and kayaks! It was so nice having those provided! Before you spend the time and money packing things you THINK you might need I would suggest doing that AFTER you arrive. The kitchen has so much already! The fridge had quite a few basic condiments and they also had quite a few spices and seasonings. It also has all the small appliances like blender crock pot etc. The side walk down to the dock made getting down there so easy. We were glad we took a cooler with wheels so if you have one take it along - made getting it up and down a cinch! There is a gas station, grocery and Dollar General all very close by so having to run and grab anything wasn't a big inconvenience at all. The week we stayed it was extremely hot and humid and the two smaller bedrooms were kind of stuffy even with the A/c going but that's normal anywhere. We had brought fans with us so that helped tremendously. The top bunk sleepers will probably want one if it's going hot. I had also packed a couple of drop cords and multi plug outlets with USB ports which came in handy for the top bunk sleeper as well. We absolutely loved this place! If you are even thinking about it - BOOK IT! You won't regret it! Aj & Laura Darting

Bachelor party

We had a great time. We got a water taxi to the bars. Grilled out at the house. Everyone slept comfortably. We jumped in the water a bit. Hung out, listened to music on the deck. It was a great time. The hosts were great to work with and the house was awesome.

Matt and Sybil were great! Communication was prompt and thorough. The place was extremely clean and looked exactly like the pictures. The fire pit was nice to hang out at. Would highly recommend!

Great Getaway

This is a great, quiet, getaway spot. We went in January which is off season for the lake, so it may not always be this quiet. This location is the perfect mix of close to things to do and still feels like you are out in the country. Lots of wildlife, quiet road, and the town of Laurie is close by and convenient. Would absolutely stay here again.

Family Reunion

The house was beautiful and we so enjoyed the campfire! Lovely setting all around! I can see how Summer would be even more fun! The house had everything we needed and then some. We would definitely stay again.

We have lived in the Kansas City area our whole lives. We grew up going to the lake as kids and still do.

During the day, Sybil is an Account Manager and Matt works for the electric company.

At night, we enjoy spending time with family and friends as well as finding some time for ourselves. We have two awesome boys, ages 5 and 2.

We are well-traveled vacation rental guests and know what a host should do to create a comfortable guest experience.

We love to travel to beaches in Texas and Florida as well as the mountains in Colorado. Oh yeah and still love to relax at the Lake.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

Please read the entire description so you know if our place is right for you!

Our home does NOT have a boat slip, only a 10’x10’ swim/fishing dock. You could tie a small to medium size boat to it, but there is NO parking for boat trailer. Between February 1st and June 1st, water levels are low at the lake and the dock may be in shallow or no water. The water is 5' - 6’ deep at the end of the dock when water level is full. You can check water level before your trip. Look up Ozarks water depth.

There is NO trash service at our house. You will need to take your trash to dumpster at The Buck Creek Store, Jiffy Stop, or Pay per Bag (across from Lake Liquor). We do have a canister on the side of the house you can store your trash in. But when you leave that should be empty. If we have to haul your trash away, we will charge $10/ bag. Also, if you leave a trash bag outside overnight, a raccoon is guaranteed to spread it all over.

Our home, like many at the lake, has a sloped gravel drive from the main road to the house. This needs to be graded from time to time. But if you are visiting in the winter, you may have trouble getting up the driveway if there is snow/ice on the ground. Make sure you have an adequate vehicle.

The house is on the lake in a decently wooded setting. We have monthly pest service, but there will always be bugs. To help minimize bugs, we recommend that you keep doors closed whenever possible and to keep the back porch lights and inside lights off when not needed.

The backyard does have a slope towards the water. Also, half of the backyard is rock the other half is grass. The yard is not fully fenced.
