SouthGate neighbor is a quiet older neighborhood with lots of trees. Good for walking or biking. Phillippi Creek runs by our backyard. We want to assure all of our guests that we are following enhanced COVID-19 cleaning and disinfecting procedures. Your security and peace of mind is our highest priority! This charming unit is located near almost everything. It is just a few minutes away from shopping, Sarasota Memorial Hospital, many restaurants and the Legacy Trail. Beautiful Siesta Key Beach is only 5 miles away and downtown just 2 miles away. The apartment itself has been recently renovated and is very cozy. You have your own private entrance. Apartment shares one wall. Sparkling clean and fresh, it features stainless appliances and quartz countertops. The bedroom has a comfy queen bed with an abundance of soft pillows and blankets. There are two smart TVs with access to Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, Disney which you can log into with your own account. A secure high speed WiFi for units use only. Also an area to work at with your laptop or tablet. There is a full size washer and dryer inside the unit. There is everything you could possibly need for your home away from home! The unit also includes a designated parking space near the front door. Sorry, We don’t have room for 3 wheel bikes in the unit. You can store in back yard.
* What makes our place unique?
-Our beautiful garden area is easy to access and enjoy. We have a nice outside screened porch as well as large pergola with seating and dinning to enjoy lunch or dinners on outside grill.
-Our hot tub is available for use.
-We supply beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels, cooler and ice packs.

Cute, cozy and CLEAN place to stay! Appreciated all of the extras provided. Such as beach chairs, beach towels, plenty of extension cords to plug things in. Great communication from host. Quick to reply. The beautiful garden and hot tub were nice bonuses to our stay. If you’re looking for a quiet, serene place this is ideal.

Verlaine was a great host and her property was exactly like the pictures. She has my kind of taste and the apartment had everything you would need and more! She must be an interior designer as everything was so well put together and just so quaint! The neighborhood is very quiet and easy to navigate around. Siesta Key is a 15 minute drive from her property. Her green thumb is quite impressive as well! So many beautiful plantings and flowers. We will be back!

While the space was adorable and clean it was not what we were expecting. The apartment is attached to a private home and the hot tub, which we were looking forward to, is part of the private home in an attached sunroom. You can see directly into the owner's home. At the time we arrived, the owner was having a party, making use of the hot tub impossible unless we chose to use it while strangers were able to view us. Because of the get together at the home, we were also not able to park in the designated parking space provided. In the end, we ended up having to find someplace else to stay and requested a full refund.

I have stayed here before and from start to finish the hosts are amazing. The unit is safe & clean. I usually travel alone for work and as a woman staying alone I sleep like a baby. The unit is clean and so relaxing. 10 out of 10!!! I will be booking my next trip soon!

I love Verlaine’s place. It’s decorated beautifully, it’s comfy and feels like home away from. I come to Sarasota for work. This was my 2nd stay and am planning on staying here, fingers crossed, if it’s available every time I come down for work!

Verlaines place was fabulous. I don’t think I have stayed at a cleaner and more comfy place. Lots of attention to detail and nice comfy towels and bed. I was there for work so didn’t use alot of the facilities but loved the beautiful landscaping . Would highly recommend this place .

I felt like the property had a little of everything. Nice private hot tub. Full kitchen to cook. Laundry to make your travels easier. Beautiful garden with creek access. Bathroom big enough for two to get ready. Everything you need out of a small space to enjoy a vacation. Very welcoming and homey feel to it.

This is a lovely unit. Clean and comfortable and nicely decorated. The hosts were friendly and available. We didn't get a chance to use the hot tub; but maybe we will the next time we go to Sarasota, because we would be happy to stay here again. Very close to Pinecraft and the Amish restaurants in Sarasota. We didn't cook while we were there but the appliances were up to date and the laundry is right off the bedroom. Much nicer than a motel.

Immaculate, cozy quarters

Verlaine 's attached apartment was very clean, as well as beautifully and tastefully decorated. Layout of the apartment was well planned. Verlaine graciously offered access to her beach equipment. We'd definitely return if ever looking for accommodations in Sarasota again.

Cozy, fully equipped and absolutely gorgeous flower garden

My 3 kids and I loved it. Had everything we needed. Host was very sweet and attentive. The walkway is absolutely beautiful. Lots of little lizards that I also enjoyed watching while drinking my coffee. Very convenient to our favorite beach(Siesta Key). Will definitely be back and recommend to friends.

Everything you need!

This cozy little place was perfect for my sister and me. Beautifully well thought out. We cooked in quite a bit, and had all the pots, pans and utensils we needed. The only minor thing was that the outdoor patio space was not as usable as we had hoped. Not a deal-breaker. We’ll be back. Loved this place!

We LOVED our stay here. Our stay was short but this place is adorable and so welcoming. We booked it so myself and my bridesmaids could get ready for our wedding and then myself and hubby stayed our wedding night. The backyard is amazing!!! The interior is the cutest little place ever. Very clean. The owners are awesome! Communication was great and they really made sure we had everything we needed. I was so appreciative when I asked to borrow some umbrellas and they were so quick to let us borrow. 10/10 recommend and we would stay here again in a heart beat.

Tranquil and welcoming

This is my first personal experience with a VRBO. Verlaine and her husband set the bar high for any further VRBO stays anywhere else. From the clear directions, our late arrival that greeted us with grace to waking to the cooing of birds on this beautiful property that Verlaine, master Gardner , has cultivated. The apartment has everything you need and then some. Everything was beautiful top notch quality. Thank you for going above and beyond Verlaine! We have already made plans to return!

Cozy apartment in great location

Apartment is attached to the owner’s home. It is very clean and well furnished. It is a safe neighborhood that is close to downtown and the beaches. The owner’s are quite respectful people. I would recommend this rental property.

W have been coming to Sarasota since 2013 , i always look for a different place to stay. This is the cleanest rental I've been in. Beautifully decorated and kept up well. Verlaine and Keith are wonderful hosts and very nice people. The unit has everything you need to enjoy your stay. We will definitely be back.

Baseball getaway

This property was a perfect fit for our baseball getaway. It had all of the amenities we needed along with the added benefits of a washer and dryer, hot tub, and a beautiful backyard. Verlaine was a gracious host and was responsive whenever we needed anything while still giving us space to relax. We are looking to our next visit.

My family & I are born and raised in Sarasota, Fl. I love Sarasota. It’s a beautiful city and has so many things to do. I love gardening and camping.
We enjoy hosting because we love an opportunity to share our wonderful city. Beaches are gorgeous with white sand. Ringling Arts Museum & Selby Botanical Gardens are a must see as well.
Unfortunately, it has become an expensive place to live. So hosting gives us an option to reduce cost of living. We’ve worked in home repair and remodeling for many years. So we like to keep our place looking top notch.
So come visit a perfect vacation hide away.

We love SouthGate Community because it is centrally located in Sarasota. Phillippi Creek runs behind our home which makes a nice view. The neighborhood is quite and very safe. We’ve lived in SouthGate since 1988.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Guest who stay with us always comments on how great the unit is for their visit. Our kitchen is well equipped for all types of cooking plus new refrigerator ice maker which has door water/ice dispenser. Love the use of beach chairs, umbrella, etc., and it’s super clean and comfortable. Many mention the outdoors being beautiful and relaxing. ( some damage to garden from hurricanes in 2025, but still nice). We are in a very safe quite neighborhood. We have e-bikes and manual bike for small fee.
