Our stay was pretty good. The overall vintage Florida vibe was cool. Pool was very nice and seeing the alligators, lizards, and birds on and around the lake was a nice addition. Location was great.

Dear Linda, thank you for taking the time to share your review. We appreciate your choice of the Whispering Lake House, but we respectfully disagree with your perspective. The house is accurately represented in the photos, and we noticed you didn't mention any discrepancies, so we wonder why there is a focus on something you were aware of when making your reservation. Our house rules clearly state that we ask all guests to report any maintenance issues within the first 24 hours of check-in. Since you did not report any problems during your stay, your comment regarding the towels is also not valid, as it would have been more effective to reach out to us directly if you wanted it resolved. Writing this in your review doesn't seem to serve your interests. We source our linens and towels from National Hospitality, ensuring they are of hotel quality, and we always keep spares on hand to replace any worn items. Our cleaning staff addresses this as needed, but we are here to support our guests when necessary. The same applies to the lawn. We have a service contract in place, and the lawn is maintained by professionals. Since you did not bring this up during your stay, we were unable to send our serviceman to discuss your concerns with you. We are curious about how the condition of the lawn impacted your vacation experience. In any case, it would have been helpful if you had contacted us to let us know.

The home was as described. The inside was very clean, everything a family of 5 needed. Pool was delightful and kids enjoyed. Owner was prompt wirh communication. Surrounding area nice. Only negative was lacks curb appeal. Front yard could use a clean up. Would definitely rent again!

Everything was just fine. The host was very helpful in letting us know where we could find all the things we needed. Wish the weather had been warmer, but we had a blast shopping and sitting around being with one another.

This was our third stay at this property and we had a fantastic time again. Short drive to several beaches and close to restaurants and shopping. Relaxing in and by the pool is always a highlight. Cannot wait to book again!

Had a wonderful stay. Home was in a great location. Home is a great choice. The only issue is the grass was quite long and the shower curtain was dry rotted, so we replaced it, so that water would not get everywhere. Nothing major. We would stay again.

Another Lovely Stay

This was our second stay at this property. We had a great time! The property had all the necessities and then some and the location is very convenient. Whenever we were not at the beach we enjoyed the pool and bird watching. Absolutely will plan to book again in the future.

Great getaway with a fantastic pool!

We had a fantastic stay at this home! The highlight was definitely the pool—our kids absolutely loved spending time there, and it made our vacation extra special. The house itself was comfortable and well-equipped, and although we encountered a few minor maintenance issues, the owner was incredibly responsive and took care of lt right away. We really appreciated the prompt communication and attention to detail. Overall a great experience!

Christmas 2024

House was as pictured in the listing. Enjoyed bird watching from the back yard every day. Pool was a nice extra, kids wished it was heated to a warmer temperature. Plenty of space for a family of 4! Proximity to the beaches were within reason too.

Venice Lake House

The home was comfortable, clean and quiet. The lanai, the pool and the view of the lake were very relaxing. Our only recommendation would be to upgrade the beds in the 2nd bedroom to full size beds. Twin beds are a little small for adults or older children. Overall it was a great stay.

House was clean and had up to date appliances. The property was set on a river with many varieties of birds which was enjoyable. Neighborhood was old and some what run down. All and all enjoyed our stay

2 month stay in Venice Gardens

Property was "as advertised. Location was excellent for ease of access to Venice and the surrounding area. Bird life was especially good for viewing in the back yard and we had at least 3 small alligators in the lake. Interior of the house was clean but could use some further maintenance (eg not all the blinds are in good repair.). Host was responsive and easy to work with.

Venice Stay

First impression outside was an eye sore. Grass and plants around house was grown up and need cutting badly. Surrounding houses lawns was cut and neat. House was very clean. A little updating especially furnishings in living room and removing the couch in the screen patio, would make this more pleasing place to stay.
