Weâre both small business owners who love creating and building â Derek runs his own construction company specializing in decks, log homes, and carpentry, while Emily owns a flooring, cabinetry, and interior design store. Together, weâve poured a lot of heart into this home, from design to finishing touches, and itâs full of personal touches from our adventures in nature and on the road.
Weâre big fans of hiking, motorcycles, and spending time with our three friendly dogs. We enjoy meeting new people and sharing our space with guests, and weâre happy to be on-site if you need anything while giving you privacy during your stay. The name comes from a single blue rose Derek gave Emily during one of the most challenging moments of remodeling the upstairs into a short-term rental. Amid sawdust, paint cans, and endless to-do lists, that gift became a symbol of strength, determination, and love â a reminder of the heart behind this home.
