Had an awesome time. This is perfect for 4 couples as each king bedroom has its own mini fridge and plenty of space. The host is simply one of the best we have dealt with over the past 20 plus years traveling to the keys. Book it.

The house was wonderful, a perfect set up for 4 couples vacationing together. It was beautifully decorated and expertly equipped with anything needed to complement our stay. The check in was easy and we were pleasantly surprised that the property manager met us there to show us around on arrival. The pool and house were well maintained and communication with the host was very easy. Would definitely stay here again!

More Memories Made in Marathon!

My family and I have been staying at the Grouper House for several years now. It feels like home and we continue to make more wonderful memories. There were several great upgrades this year, such as tv's in the bedrooms and down by the pool. I honestly can't think of anything that could make our stay better. As usual, Sean and Jose take great care of us! Looking forward to next year!

We were a group of 4 couples. The house was absolutely perfect for us. It is beautifully decorated, well stocked and immaculately clean. Sean our host went above and beyond our expectations. We spent many afternoons hanging out and having drinks by the pool. We spotted a mother manatee with baby by the dock. We would definitely rent this house again when in the area.

Suzanne, thanks for the nice comments! There is a local vendor that our guests can rent kayaks from during your next stay. They bring the kayaks to the house and then pick them up after your stay. We do not have the staff to safely maintain kayaks and paddles, unfortunately. But love your thoughts and feedback. Come back as soon as you can!

Family vacation at Grouper House

What a great property! My family and I were VERY impressed with the house, the location, the cleanliness, and responsiveness of the Happy in the Keys team. It all made for a wonderful week in the Keys. The cherry on top was when our neighbors in Super Grouper gave us a mackerel fish they caught that day, which turned into an excellent grilled dinner for us. Would definitely return for a future stay again, wonderful experience all around.

We have been coming to the Florida Keys for years, but this was our first time staying in Marathon. It is a beautiful area and the Grouper Home was the perfect retreat after a day of fishing or having fun at the sandbar. It is a beautiful home and property with everything needed for a great vacation. The layout of the home with 4 masters was perfect for our family. Having the boat ramp near, along with the spacious dock made it even better. The management was easy to communicate and available for any questions. We had a great time at the Grouper Home and look forward to planning future stays.

À propos de l’hôte

Hôte : Kim Portner

Image de profil de l’hôte
Our journey to the Florida Keys began in 2009, when we vacationed here for the first time and instantly fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle, the vibrant oceanfront scenery, and the warm, welcoming community. What started as a family getaway quickly grew into a lifelong passion.

Driven by our love for the Keys, we founded HappyintheKeys — a lifestyle brand and a curated collection of luxury vacation rental residences. We didn’t just want to buy a house here; we wanted to build experiences that capture the essence of what makes the Keys so special.

Each home in our portfolio, including Grouper House, is custom-designed and personally managed by us. We focus on quality, comfort, and thoughtful design to ensure that every guest feels like they’re coming home — whether it’s their first visit or their tenth.

From the architecture to the furnishings, the amenities to the small details, everything has been carefully selected to create an effortless, elevated vacation experience. We believe luxury should feel personal, and we’re proud to offer a stay that reflects the beauty and authenticity of life in the Florida Keys.

When you stay with HappyintheKeys, you're not just renting a house — you're stepping into a slice of paradise we’ve lovingly crafted and are excited to share.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

We custom designed and built Grouper House — along with several of our other homes — specifically with the vacation lifestyle in mind. As avid travelers and hosts, we understand what makes a getaway truly special: comfort, privacy, space, and a setting that brings people together effortlessly.

This home was thoughtfully created for families and groups of friends traveling together. Whether it's multiple couples, an extended family, or a mix of both, everyone deserves to feel equally pampered. That’s why Grouper House features four identical Master Suites, each offering the same spacious layout, high-end furnishings, King-size Purple™ mattresses, en-suite bathrooms, and private patio access. No one has to compromise — every guest enjoys the same level of comfort and luxury.

We built this home to make vacationing together easy and enjoyable, with generous indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, a resort-style pool, and premium amenities designed for relaxation and fun. From quiet morning coffee on the terrace to sunset cocktails by the pool, Grouper House is meant to be shared, enjoyed, and remembered.

This property isn’t just a rental — it’s a destination tailored for those who want more than just a place to stay. It’s a home designed for making memories.

Voici ce qui rend cet hébergement unique

Grouper House was thoughtfully designed and custom built — along with two of our other luxury homes — to meet the specific needs of vacationing families and groups of friends. As owners and frequent travelers ourselves, we understand the value of equal comfort and privacy when staying with others.

That’s why this home features four equally spacious and beautifully appointed Master Suites, each with a King-size Purple™ mattress, en-suite bathroom, private wine/coffee bar, and direct access to patio or terrace space. Whether you're traveling with other couples, extended family, or friends with children, everyone enjoys the same level of luxury — no drawing straws for the “best room.”

Beyond the interior, Grouper House offers a host of unique outdoor amenities designed to elevate your experience:

🚤 Private Boat Ramp — A rare and valuable feature in the Keys, our ramp is reserved exclusively for guests of our five homes and our personal use. It’s ideal for guests who bring their own boats and want convenient, secure water access.
🛥️ Extra-Wide IPE Dock — Built for both comfort and function, the dock offers plenty of space for boarding, unloading, or simply relaxing. It’s also a great spot for fishing or spotting manatees cruising the canal.
🏊 Expansive Pool Area — The large saline pool is thoughtfully positioned between the home and the dock for easy access and stunning views. A splash deck makes it perfect for kids, while the surrounding lounge area invites relaxation in sun or shade. A Bathroom is convenient to the pool and dock.

From the indoor layout to the outdoor design, Grouper House delivers the perfect balance of luxury, function, and family-friendly features, making it a standout destination for travelers seeking an elevated Florida Keys experience.
