Balavoulin House is a beautiful, updated centuries-old home close to Inverness and Black Isle. The house has a fully equipped kitchen with everything you could need, three modern bathrooms and four comfortable bedrooms. The views from the house are stunning and you feel like you are in a little paradise away from the hustle and bustle. The Coop in Evanston had everything we needed and we often visited the nearby Storehouse for lunches and afternoon teas. Dornoch and Ullapool were an hour or so away and must visit. Piers was a delightful and attentive host and we would be so happy to have the opportunity to visit again in the future. Many thanks for your hospitality, Piers!

We had three wonderful days in the hut. It was very clean and cosy. It was also very cleverly furnished to save space. Someone had really put some thought into it. We wanted for nothing and Gerald, the landlord, was always approachable and helpful. The view is marvellous. The outdoor bathtub and the fire bowl made the stay a great, relaxing experience. A beautiful cottage in a beautiful remote setting. Surrounded by nothing but forest, fields and hills. This is an excellent base from which to explore the beauty of the highlands of Scotland.The house is well equipped, with good sized bedrooms and ample parking. Main shops are within a 20min drive of the location.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the smartly renovated classroom. The location is the best of both worlds; both conveniently situated off the highway and only minutes to Inverness, yet with beautiful, idyllic country views. Ellie is a warm, welcoming host with a keen eye for detail. She greeted us, provided a quick tour, and kindly stocked the fridge and cabinet with breakfast provisions. We appreciated her thoughtful touches such as a bedside water decanter, sweet treats, and cozy blanket. Thanks Ellie! The apartment is nicely set-up and very spacious, quiet, clean, and comfortable. The kitchen is functional, well-equipped, and organized. The huge bathroom is nicely done with ample space for toiletries; a definite plus when traveling. Two other pluses which made our stay more enjoyable were the heated clothes drying rack and large smart TV. We truly loved everything about this home away from home and highly recommend Ellie’s hidden gem to anyone coming to the area.
